Luke 10
1 Now after these things, the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them out two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he himself was about to go.
੧ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੱਤਰ ਹੋਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਨਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਆਪ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ-ਦੋ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ।
2 He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
੨ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਫ਼ਸਲ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਭੇਜੇ।
3 Go on your way. See, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.
੩ਜਾਓ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਘਿਆੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
4 Do not carry a money bag, or a traveler's bag, or sandals, and greet no one on the road.
੪ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਬਟੂਆ, ਨਾ ਝੋਲਾ, ਨਾ ਜੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਲਓ, ਨਾ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਨਾਮ ਕਰੋ।
5 Whatever house you enter, first say, 'May peace be on this house!'
੫ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਓ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮੰਗੋ।
6 If a person of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him, but if not, it will return to you.
੬ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਠਹਿਰੇਗੀ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਮੁੜ ਆਵੇਗੀ।
7 Remain in that same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
੭ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਹਿਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੋਜਨ ਉਹ ਦੇਣ, ਖਾਓ ਪੀਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਦਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹੈ। ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਨਾ ਫਿਰੋ।
8 Whatever town you enter, and they receive you, eat what is set before you,
੮ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ ਤਦ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਣ, ਸੋ ਖਾਓ।
9 and heal the sick that are there. Say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come close to you.'
੯ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
10 Whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,
੧੦ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚੌਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਹੋ
11 'Even the dust from your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you! But know this: The kingdom of God has come near.'
੧੧ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਗਰ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਝਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
12 I say to you that on the judgment day it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.
੧੨ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਦੂਮ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਸਹਿਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
੧੩ਹਾਏ ਖੁਰਾਜ਼ੀਨ! ਹਾਏ ਬੈਤਸੈਦਾ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜੇ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੱਪੜ ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਕਦੋਂ ਦੇ ਤੋਬਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ।
14 But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.
੧੪ਪਰ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਸਹਿਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
15 You, Capernaum, do you think you will be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades. (Hadēs g86)
੧੫ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ? ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ! (Hadēs g86)
16 The one who listens to you listens to me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
੧੬ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਛ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਛ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਛ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਛ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submitted to us in your name.”
੧੭ਉਹ ਸੱਤਰ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਭੂਤ ਵੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ!
18 Jesus said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven as lightning.
੧੮ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
19 See, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way hurt you.
੧੯ਵੇਖੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਛੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਚਲਣ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
20 Nevertheless do not rejoice only in this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice even more that your names are engraved in heaven.”
੨੦ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ ਕਿ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੋਵੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
21 At that same time he rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you concealed these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to those who are untaught, like little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well pleasing in your sight.”
੨੧ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਗਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ। ਹਾਂ, ਪਿਤਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਾ।
22 “All things have been entrusted to me from my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
੨੨ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਜੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇ।
23 Then he turned around to the disciples and said privately, “Blessed are those who see the things that you see.
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਧੰਨ ਉਹ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋ।
24 I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see the things you see, and they did not see them, and to hear the things that you hear, and they did not hear them.”
੨੪ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇੱਛਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਸੋ ਵੇਖਣ ਪਰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਸੋ ਸੁਣਨ ਪਰ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ।
25 Behold, a certain teacher of the Jewish laws stood up so that he might test him, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
੨੫ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਇੱਕ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਖਲੋ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਵਾਂ? (aiōnios g166)
26 Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
੨੬ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
27 He gave an answer and he said, “You will love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
੨੭ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ।
28 Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
੨੮ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਹੋ ਕਰ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵੇਂਗਾ।
29 But the teacher, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”
੨੯ਪਰ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਫੇਰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ?
30 Jesus answered him and said, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. He fell among robbers, who stripped him of his belongings, and beat him, and left him half dead.
੩੦ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਮੋਇਆ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ।
31 By chance a certain priest was going down that way, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
੩੧ਸੰਜੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਉਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਵੱਟ ਕੇ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ।
32 Similarly a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
੩੨ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਵੱਟ ਕੇ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ।
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion.
੩੩ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਮਰੀ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।
34 He approached him and bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
੩੪ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਤਰਸ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਅ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਠਾ ਕੇ ਸਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਰਹਮ ਪੱਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
35 The next day he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said, 'Take care of him and whatever extra you spend, when I return, I will repay you.'
੩੫ਫੇਰ ਸਵੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਦੀਨਾਰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਮਹਰਮ ਪੱਟੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਲੱਗੂ ਸੋ ਮੈਂ ਜਦ ਮੁੜ ਆਵਾਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਭਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
36 Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
੩੬ਸੋ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ?
37 The teacher said, “The one who showed mercy to him.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.”
੩੭ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਫੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰ।
38 Now as they were traveling along, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.
੩੮ਫੇਰ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਚੱਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਥਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ।
39 She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and heard his word.
੩੯ਅਤੇ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨਾਮਕ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਦੀ ਸੀ।
40 But Martha was overly busy with preparing to serve a meal. She came up to Jesus, and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
੪੦ਪਰ ਮਾਰਥਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ-ਕਰਦੀ ਘਬਰਾ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ? ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਹੋ।
41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious about many things,
੪੧ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮਾਰਥਾ! ਮਾਰਥਾ! ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਘਬਰਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈਂ।
42 but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, which will not be taken away from her.”
੪੨ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਖੋਹਿਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
