Leviticus 18
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
2 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, 'I am Yahweh your God.
നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു;
3 You must not do the things that the people do in Egypt, where you lived previously. You must not do the things that the people do in Canaan, the land to which I am taking you. Do not follow their customs.
നിങ്ങൾ പാർത്തിരുന്ന മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ നടപ്പുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ നടക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന കനാൻദേശത്തിലെ നടപ്പുപോലെയും അരുതു; അവരുടെ മര്യാദ ആചരിക്കരുതു.
4 My laws are what you must do, and my commandments are what you must keep, so that you walk in them, because I am Yahweh your God.
എന്റെ വിധികളെ അനുസരിച്ചു എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്കേണം; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
5 Therefore you must keep my decrees and my laws. If a person obeys them, he will live because of them. I am Yahweh.
ആകയാൽ എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും ന്യായങ്ങളും നിങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിക്കേണം; അവയെ ചെയ്യുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ അവയാൽ ജീവിക്കും; ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
6 No one must sleep with any close relative to uncover his nakedness. I am Yahweh.
നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരും തനിക്കു രക്തസംബന്ധമുള്ള യാതൊരുത്തരുടെയും നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവരോടു അടുക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
7 Do not dishonor your father by sleeping with your mother. She is your mother! You must not dishonor her.
നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ നഗ്നതയും അമ്മയുടെ നഗ്നതയും അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു. അവൾ നിന്റെ അമ്മയാകുന്നു; അവളുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു.
8 Do not sleep with any of your father's wives; you must not dishonor your father like that.
അപ്പന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ നഗ്നതയല്ലോ.
9 Do not sleep with any sister of yours, whether she is the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother, whether she was raised at your home or distant from you. You must not sleep with your sisters.
അപ്പന്റെ മകളോ അമ്മയുടെ മകളോ ആയ നിന്റെ സഹോദരിയുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ചവരായാലും പുറമെ ജനിച്ചവരായാലും അവരുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു.
10 Do not sleep with your son's daughter or with your daughter's daughter. That would be your own shame.
നിന്റെ മകന്റെ മകളുടെ നഗ്നതയോ മകളുടെ മകളുടെ നഗ്നതയോ അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവരുടെ നഗ്നത നിന്റേതു തന്നേയല്ലോ.
11 Do not sleep with your father's wife's daughter, who was born of your father. She is your sister, and you must not sleep with her.
നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നു ജനിച്ചവളും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ മകളുമായവളുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവൾ നിന്റെ സഹോദരിയല്ലോ.
12 Do not sleep with your father's sister. She is a close relative to your father.
അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരിയുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവൾ അപ്പന്റെ അടുത്ത ചാർച്ചക്കാരത്തിയല്ലോ.
13 Do not sleep with your mother's sister. She is a close relative to your mother.
അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരിയുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവൾ നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ അടുത്ത ചാർച്ചക്കാരത്തിയല്ലോ.
14 Do not dishonor the brother of your father by sleeping with his wife. Do not go near her for that purpose; she is your aunt.
അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടു അടുക്കയുമരുതു; അവൾ നിന്റെ ഇളയമ്മയല്ലോ.
15 Do not sleep with your daughter-in-law. She is your son's wife; do not sleep with her.
നിന്റെ മരുമകളുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവൾ നിന്റെ മകന്റെ ഭാര്യ അല്ലോ; അവളുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു.
16 Do not sleep with your brother's wife; do not dishonor him in this way.
സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അതു നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ നഗ്നതയല്ലോ.
17 Do not sleep with a woman and her daughter, or with her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter. They are close relatives to her, and sleeping with them would be wicked.
ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെയും അവളുടെ മകളുടെയും നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കരുതു; അവളുടെ മകന്റെയോ മകളുടെയോ മകളുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കുമാറു അവരെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു: അവർ അടുത്ത ചാർച്ചക്കാരല്ലോ; അതു ദുഷ്കർമ്മം.
18 You must not marry your wife's sister as a second wife and sleep with her while your first wife is alive.
ഭാര്യ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവളെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിപ്പാൻ അവളുടെ സഹോദരിയുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കുമാറു അവളെകൂടെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു.
19 Do not sleep with a woman during her menstruation. She is unclean during that time.
ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഋതു നിമിത്തം അശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവളുടെ നഗ്നത അനാവൃതമാക്കുമാറു അവളോടു അടുക്കരുതു.
20 Do not sleep with your neighbor's wife and defile yourself with her in this way.
കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു അവളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കരുതു.
21 You must not give any of your children to put them into the fire, so that you sacrifice them to Molech, because you must not profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.
നിന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽ ഒന്നിനെയും മോലേക്കിന്നു അർപ്പിച്ചു നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
22 Do not sleep with other men as with a woman. This would be wicked.
സ്ത്രീയോടു എന്നപോലെ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്കരുതു; അതു മ്ലേച്ഛത.
23 Do not sleep with any animal and defile yourself with it. No woman must consider sleeping with any animal. This would be perversion.
യാതൊരു മൃഗത്തോടുംകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു അതിനാൽ നിന്നെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കരുതു; യാതൊരു സ്ത്രീയും ഒരു മൃഗത്തോടും കൂടെ ശയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കയും അരുതു; അതു നികൃഷ്ടം.
24 Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, for in all these ways the nations are defiled, the nations that I will drive out from before you.
ഇവയിൽ ഒന്നുകൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയുന്ന ജാതികൾ ഇവയാൽ ഒക്കെയും തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ അശുദ്ധരാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
25 The land became defiled, so I punished their sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.
ദേശവും അശുദ്ധമായിത്തീർന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അതിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അതിന്മേൽ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്നു; ദേശം തന്റെ നിവാസികളെ ഛർദ്ദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
26 You, therefore, must keep my commandments and decrees, and you must not do any of these detestable things, neither the native-born Israelite nor the foreigner who lives among you.
ഈ മ്ലേച്ഛത ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെ ആ ദേശത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന മനുഷ്യർ ചെയ്തു, ദേശം അശുദ്ധമായി തീർന്നു.
27 For this is the wickedness that the people in the land have committed, those who lived here before you, and now the land is defiled.
നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ജാതികളെ ദേശം ഛർദ്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ അതിനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കീട്ടു നിങ്ങളെയും ഛർദ്ദിച്ചുകളയാതിരിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും പ്രമാണിക്കേണം;
28 Therefore be careful so that the land does not vomit you up also after you have defiled it, as it vomited out the people who were before you.
ഈ മ്ലേച്ഛതകളിൽ യാതൊന്നും സ്വദേശിയാകട്ടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന പരദേശിയാകട്ടെ ചെയ്യരുതു.
29 Whoever does any of these detestable things, the persons who do such things will be cut off from among their people.
ആരെങ്കിലും ഈ സകലമ്ലേച്ഛതകളിലും ഏതെങ്കിലും ചെയ്താൽ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ അവരുടെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം.
30 Therefore you must keep my command not to practice any of these detestable customs which were practiced here before you, so that you do not defile yourselves by them. I am Yahweh your God.'”
ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെ നടന്ന ഈ മ്ലേച്ഛമര്യാദകളിൽ യാതൊന്നും ചെയ്യാതെയും അവയാൽ അശുദ്ധരാകാതെയും ഇരിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ പ്രമാണങ്ങളെ പ്രമാണിക്കേണം; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
