Leviticus 11

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

மீண்டும் யெகோவா மோசேயுடனும் ஆரோனுடனும் பேசி,

2 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, 'These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.

“நீங்கள் இஸ்ரயேலருக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது: ‘பூமியில் வாழும் எல்லா மிருகங்களுக்குள்ளும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக் கூடியவைகள் இவையே:

3 You may eat any animal that has a split hoof and that also chews the cud.

முழுவதும் விரிந்த குளம்புடையதும், இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதுமான எந்த மிருகத்தையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.

4 However, some animals either chew the cud or have a split hoof, and you must not eat them, animals such as the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof. So the camel is unclean to you.

“‘சில மிருகங்கள் இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் மட்டும் இருக்கின்றன, சில மிருகங்கள் விரிந்த குளம்பு உடையதாய் மட்டும் இருக்கின்றன, அவற்றை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. ஒட்டகம் இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் இருந்தாலும் அதற்கு விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாதபடியால், அது சம்பிரதாய முறைப்படி உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

5 Also the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is also unclean to you.

அதேபோல், குழிமுயலானது இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் இருந்தாலும், விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாதபடியால், அதுவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

6 The rabbit, because it chews the cud, but does not have a split hoof, is unclean to you.

முயல் இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் இருந்தும், விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாதபடியால், அதுவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

7 The pig, although it has a split hoof, does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.

பன்றி, விரிந்த குளம்புடையதாயிருந்தாலும், இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதில்லை; ஆதலால் அதுவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

8 You must not eat any of their meat, nor touch their carcasses. They are unclean to you.

நீங்கள் அவற்றின் இறைச்சியைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தொடவும் கூடாது. அவை உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

9 The animals living in the water that you may eat are all those that have fins and scales, whether in the ocean or in the rivers.

“‘கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீரில் வாழ்கின்ற உயிரினங்களில் துடுப்புகளும் செதில்களும் உள்ள எதையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.

10 But all living creatures that do not have fins and scales in the ocean or rivers, including all that move in the water and all the living creatures that are in the water— they must be detested by you.

கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீரில் வாழ்கின்ற உயிரினங்களுக்குள்ளே துடுப்புகளும், செதில்களும் இல்லாத எல்லாவற்றையும் நீங்கள் அருவருக்கவேண்டும்.

11 Since they must be detested, you must not eat of their meat; also, their carcasses must be detested.

நீங்கள் அவற்றை அருவருக்கவேண்டும் என்பதால், அவைகளின் இறைச்சியைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. அவற்றின் செத்த உடல்களை நீங்கள் அருவருத்து ஒதுக்க வேண்டும்.

12 Whatever has no fins or scales in the water must be detested by you.

நீரில் வாழ்கின்ற துடுப்புகளும், செதில்களும் இல்லாதவையெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

13 The birds you must detest and that you must not eat are these: the eagle, the vulture,

“‘பறவைகளில் நீங்கள் அருவருக்கவேண்டியதும், அருவருப்பாய் இருப்பதால் சாப்பிடாமல் தவிர்க்கவேண்டியதும் இவையே: கழுகு, கருடன், கடலூராஞ்சி,

14 the kite, any kind of falcon,

செம்பருந்து எல்லாவித வல்லூறுகள்,

15 every kind of raven,

எல்லாவித அண்டங்காக்கைகள்,

16 the horned owl and the screech owl, the seagull, and any kind of hawk.

கொம்பு ஆந்தை, அலறும் ஆந்தை, கடல் பறவை, எல்லாவித பருந்துகள்,

17 You must also detest the little owl and the great owl, the cormorant,

சின்ன ஆந்தை, நீர்க்காகம், பெரிய ஆந்தை,

18 the white owl and the barn owl, the osprey,

வெள்ளை ஆந்தை, பாலைவன ஆந்தை, மீன்கொத்தும் பெரிய பறவை,

19 the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and also the bat.

கொக்கு, எல்லாவித நாரைகள், புழுக்கொத்தி, வவ்வால் என்பனவாகும்.

20 All winged insects that walk on four legs are detestable to you.

“‘பறக்கும் பூச்சி வகைகளில் நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்கின்ற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பானவை.

21 Yet you may eat any of the flying insects that also walk on four legs if they have jointed legs for hopping on the ground.

ஆனாலும், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடிய நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்கும் சிறகுகளை உடைய சில உயிரினங்களாவன: தரையில் தத்திப்பாயக்கூடிய இணைக்கப்பட்ட கால்களையுடையவை.

22 You may also eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket, or grasshopper.

இவைகளில் நீங்கள், எல்லா வகையான வெட்டுக்கிளிகளையும், பச்சை வெட்டுக்கிளிகளையும், சில்வண்டுகளையும், விட்டில்களையும் சாப்பிடலாம்.

23 But all the flying insects that have four feet must be detested by you.

ஆனால் நான்கு கால்களையும், சிறகுகளையும் உடைய மற்ற எல்லா பூச்சிகளையும் நீங்கள் அருவருக்கவேண்டும்.

24 You will become unclean until evening by these animals if you touch a carcass of one of them.

“‘இவற்றால் உங்களை நீங்கள் அசுத்தமாக்கிக்கொள்வீர்கள். அவற்றின் செத்த உடல்களைத் தொடுகிற எவனும் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

25 Whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes and remain unclean until evening.

அவற்றின் செத்த உடலை எடுக்கிறவன் எவனும் தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். மாலைவரை அவன் அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

26 Every animal which has a split hoof that is not completely divided or which does not chew the cud is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them will be unclean.

“‘விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாததும், இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதுமான மிருகங்கள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தொடுகிற எவனும் அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

27 Whatever walks on its paws among all the animals that walk on all four legs, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches such a carcass will be unclean until the evening.

நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்கும் எல்லா மிருகங்களுக்குள்ளும் பாதங்களை ஊன்றி நடக்கின்ற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்க வேண்டும்; அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

28 Whoever picks up such a carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. These animals will be unclean to you.

அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தூக்குகிற எவனும், தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். அவன் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான். அவை உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவை.

29 Of the animals that creep on the ground, these are the animals that will be unclean to you: the weasel, the rat, every kind of large lizard,

“‘தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகளில் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவைகள்: மரநாய், எலி, எல்லா வகையான ஓணான்,

30 the gecko, the monitor lizard, the lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.

மரப்பல்லி, உடும்பு, பல்லி, அரணை, பச்சோந்தி என்பனவாகும்.

31 Of all the animals that creep, these are the animals which will be unclean to you. Whoever touches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.

ஊரும்பிராணிகளில் இவையெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவை. இவற்றிலும் செத்ததைத் தொடுகிறவன் சூரியன் மறையும்வரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

32 If any of them dies and falls on anything, that thing will be unclean, whether it is made of wood, cloth, leather, or sackcloth. Whatever it is and whatever it is used for, it must be put into water; it will be unclean until evening. Then it will be clean.

அவைகளில் ஒன்று செத்து மரப்பாத்திரத்திலோ, உடையிலோ, தோலிலோ, சாக்குப்பையிலோ, பயன்படுத்தும் எந்தப் பாத்திரத்திலாவது விழுந்தால், அவை அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அதை தண்ணீரில் போடுங்கள். அவை மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். பின்பு அவை சுத்தமாகும்.

33 For every clay pot into or onto which any unclean animal falls, whatever is in the pot will become unclean, and you must destroy that pot.

அவைகளில் ஒன்று மண்பானைக்குள் விழுமானால், அதிலுள்ள அனைத்தும் அசுத்தமாகும். எனவே அந்தப் பானையை உடைக்கவேண்டும்.

34 Any food that could be eaten but has water on it from such a pot is unclean. Any liquid that is for drinking from such a pot is unclean.

அந்தப் பானையிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் எந்த உணவிலாவது பட்டுவிட்டால், அது அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அதிலிருந்து குடிக்கும் எந்தவித பானமும் அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

35 Anything that one of their carcasses falls on becomes unclean; if it is an oven or small stove, it must be broken to pieces. They are unclean and they must remain unclean to you.

செத்தவைகளில் ஒன்று எதில் விழுந்தாலும், அது அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அடுப்பிலோ அல்லது சட்டியிலோ விழுந்தால், அவை உடைக்கப்பட வேண்டும். அவை அசுத்தமானவை. அவற்றை நீங்கள் அசுத்தமாக எண்ணவேண்டும்.

36 A spring or cistern for collecting water remains clean; but anyone who touches their carcass is unclean.

ஆனாலும் செத்ததில் ஒன்று நீரூற்றிலோ, தண்ணீர் சேமிக்கும் தொட்டியிலோ விழுந்தால், அவை அசுத்தமாகாது. அதற்குள் செத்துக்கிடப்பதைத் தொடுகிறவன் அசுத்தமாய் இருக்கிறான்.

37 If any part of their carcass falls upon any seeds for planting, those seeds will still be clean.

அது விதைக்க வைத்திருக்கும் எந்தத் தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தாலும் சுத்தமாகவே இருக்கும்.

38 But if water is put on the seeds, and if any part of their carcass falls on them, then they will be unclean to you.

ஆகிலும் தானியம் நீரில் நனைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் போது, அது தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தால், அந்தத் தானியம் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

39 If any animal that you may eat dies, then he who touches the carcass will be unclean until evening.

“‘ஆகிலும், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடும்படி அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு மிருகம் இறந்தால், அந்தப் பிணத்தைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாய் இருப்பான்.

40 Whoever eats any of that carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. Anyone who picks up such a carcass will wash his clothes and be unclean until evening.

அந்தப் பிணத்தில் எதையாவது சாப்பிடுகிறவன் எவனும் தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். மாலைவரை அவன் அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான். அந்தப் பிணத்தைத் தூக்குகிற எவனும் தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். அவன் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

41 Every animal that creeps on the ground is to be detested; it must not be eaten.

“‘தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகள் எல்லாம் அருவருப்பானவை. அவற்றைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது.

42 Whatever crawls on its belly, and whatever walks on all four legs, or whatever has many feet—all the animals that creep on the ground, these you must not eat, for they are to be detested.

தரையில் ஊரும் எந்தப் பிராணியும் அவை வயிற்றினால் ஊர்ந்தாலும் சரி, நான்கு கால்களாலோ அநேகம் கால்களாலோ நகர்ந்தாலும் சரி, அவை அருவருப்பானவையே. அவற்றை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது.

43 You must not make yourselves unclean with any living creatures that creep; you must not make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be made impure by them.

இந்த ஊரும்பிராணிகளில் எதினாலாவது நீங்கள் உங்களை அசுத்தப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம். நீங்கள் அவற்றினாலாவது அவற்றின் மூலமாவது உங்களை அசுத்தமாக்கிக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம்.

44 For I am Yahweh your God. You are to keep yourselves holy, therefore, and be holy, because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves with any kind of animal that moves about on the ground.

நான் உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்களை அர்ப்பணம் செய்து பரிசுத்தராயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில், நான் பரிசுத்தர். நீங்கள் தரையில் ஊர்ந்து திரியும் எந்தவித பிராணியாலும் உங்களை அசுத்தப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம்.

45 For I am Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You must therefore be holy, for I am holy.

உங்கள் இறைவனாயிருக்கும்படி உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து வெளியே கொண்டுவந்த யெகோவா நானே. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் பரிசுத்தமாயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில், நான் பரிசுத்தர்.

46 This is the law regarding the animals, the birds, every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the ground,

“‘மிருகங்கள், பறவைகள், நீரில் நீந்தும் உயிரினங்கள், தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகள் அனைத்தையும் பற்றிய ஒழுங்குவிதிகள் இவையே.

47 for which a distinction is to be made between the unclean and the clean, and between the living things that may be eaten and the living things that may not be eaten.'”

அசுத்தமானதற்கும், சுத்தமானதற்கும் இடையில் வித்தியாசத்தைக் காட்டவும், சாப்பிடக்கூடிய உயிரினங்களுக்கும், சாப்பிடக்கூடாத உயிரினங்களுக்கும் இடையில் உள்ள வேறுபாட்டை காட்டவுமே இந்த ஒழுங்குவிதிகள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன’ என்றார்.”
