1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

2 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, 'These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.

3 You may eat any animal that has a split hoof and that also chews the cud.
Gancha hochu abang atin ni kehkop, atin keh to, chule anehsa akama lhai hochu naneh thei diu gancha ho ahi.
4 However, some animals either chew the cud or have a split hoof, and you must not eat them, animals such as the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof. So the camel is unclean to you.
Gancha atin kika holeh anehsa ihdoh a avela lhai ji hochu, naneh diu hijong leh sangongsao vang naneh theilou diu ahi, ajeh chu anehsa aihdoh a alhai vang'in, atin akika poi. Hitobang gancha hohi nangho dia satheng lou aboh ahi.
5 Also the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is also unclean to you.
Jupi jeng jong athenglou anehsa aihdoh a alhaiji vang'in, atin kika lou ahi.
6 The rabbit, because it chews the cud, but does not have a split hoof, is unclean to you.
Talep kiti gan hing jong hi nangho dia aboh ahi, anehsa aihdoh a alhaiji vang'in, atin kika lou ahi.
7 The pig, although it has a split hoof, does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.
Gancha lah a vohcha jeng jong hi nang ho dia aboh ahi. Ajeh chu atin kika ahivang in, anehsa kiti aihdoh khapon lhai jong alhai poi.
8 You must not eat any of their meat, nor touch their carcasses. They are unclean to you.
Hiche gancha hohi tohjong natoh khah lou diu, along jeng ujong nasuh loh lou diu satheng lou aboh ahiuve.
9 The animals living in the water that you may eat are all those that have fins and scales, whether in the ocean or in the rivers.
Tuilah a cheng ganhing naneh thei diu ho chu ahileh, tuikhanglen le vadunga cheng aving chule alip nei tapou naneh diu ahi.
10 But all living creatures that do not have fins and scales in the ocean or rivers, including all that move in the water and all the living creatures that are in the water— they must be detested by you.
Ahinlah tuikhanglen le vadunga cheng jouse lah achun ahon hon'a lhakhom hihen, ipi ganhing chu hitaleh alip, aving neilou jouse nang ho dia atheng lou ahi.
11 Since they must be detested, you must not eat of their meat; also, their carcasses must be detested.
Hichengse chu nang ho dia thet umtah'a nagel diu, asa jong naneh louhel diu, athisa jong chu natoh khah louhel diu ahi.
12 Whatever has no fins or scales in the water must be detested by you.
Twi lah'a alipbei le alhaving bei ganhing jouse, nang ho dia atheng lou aboh ahi.
13 The birds you must detest and that you must not eat are these: the eagle, the vulture,
Vachate lah jeng ajong nathet bol diuva ganhing hochu ahileh, hiche hohi nathet bol diu naneh louhel diu ahi: muthong, muvanlai, mu ngaman,
14 the kite, any kind of falcon,
Ipi mu hijong leh mubong hijong leh,
15 every kind of raven,
Vangah hijong leh,
16 the horned owl and the screech owl, the seagull, and any kind of hawk.
Va ngongsang ahin, Bahpi ahin, twiva, itobang va hihen muvanlai jouse jaonan
17 You must also detest the little owl and the great owl, the cormorant,
Sumbupi ahin, vatot muhsao ahin, twi vahong ahin,
18 the white owl and the barn owl, the osprey,
Twi va-ah ahin, vatot kamkabah ahin, muthong,
19 the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and also the bat.
Twilungva ahin, ipiva hileh twi vakang jouse jaonan, sel ehva leh bah,
20 All winged insects that walk on four legs are detestable to you.
Alha neiya akenglia lamjot ganhing kiti phot, nangho dia thet umtah ganhing ahi.
21 Yet you may eat any of the flying insects that also walk on four legs if they have jointed legs for hopping on the ground.
Alha neiya akeng lia lam ajot jing vang chun, tol'a achop le achut le nathei akeng jung nei ho vang chu nang hon naneh thei diu ahinai.
22 You may also eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket, or grasshopper.
Nangho neh thei ding chu hicheng se hi ahi: khaokho naneh thei diu, mul neilou khaokho hovang naneh lou diu, khongbai naneh thei diu, khaokhopi jat chengse naneh diu ahi.
23 But all the flying insects that have four feet must be detested by you.
Amavang tol'a vah akeng li um, lhaving neiya lengthei kit ganhing kiti jouse chu nangho dia thet um ahi.
24 You will become unclean until evening by these animals if you touch a carcass of one of them.
Hiche hoa chu na kisuh boh thei diu ahi, akimin phah chengse hi nalah uva koi hijong leh, atongkha chu aboh ahin hichu nilhah geiya aboh a um ding ahi.
25 Whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes and remain unclean until evening.
Koi hijong leh hiche ganhing thisa tongkhaa kipoh aum khah leh, aponsil akisop theng ding nilhah geiya amachu aboh a um ding ahi.
26 Every animal which has a split hoof that is not completely divided or which does not chew the cud is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them will be unclean.
Chule gancha tin kika neiya hinlah atin teni khe lhalouva, anehsa ihdoh kit a lhai kit lou gancha chu nang hodia aboh atheng lou ahi, koi hileh hiche gancha tongkha chan chu aboh a um ding ahi.
27 Whatever walks on its paws among all the animals that walk on all four legs, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches such a carcass will be unclean until the evening.
Sa ho lah a akeng lia lamjot hihen, akengpeh tollhang chon jouse hijong leh, nang ho dia hichengse jong hi aboh a kisim ahi. koi hijong leu chun hiche sa thilong thamkha chan chu, nilhum geiya aboh a um ding ahi.
28 Whoever picks up such a carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. These animals will be unclean to you.
Chule hitobang saboh tham kha chun aponsil akisop thenga, nilhum geiya aboh a um ding ahi, ajeh chu hichengse hi nangho dia atheng lou aboh a kisim jeng ding ahi.
29 Of the animals that creep on the ground, these are the animals that will be unclean to you: the weasel, the rat, every kind of large lizard,
Ahon hon'a lha khoma kiloikhom ganhing leiset chunga lha hichengse jong hi aboh ahi. Khoili ahin, jucha ahin, thangkip pi ahin, thangkip to kibangse ahin,
30 the gecko, the monitor lizard, the lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.
Daidep ahin, Tang, Thangkip, Taangnam, jucha thangkip hichengse hi ahi.
31 Of all the animals that creep, these are the animals which will be unclean to you. Whoever touches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.
Ahon hon'a lha ganhing hichengse chu aboh a um ding ahi, hicheng se hi athiteng leh nalah uva koihijong leu chun athilong tong kha aum leh, ama chu nilhum geiya aboh a umding ahi.
32 If any of them dies and falls on anything, that thing will be unclean, whether it is made of wood, cloth, leather, or sackcloth. Whatever it is and whatever it is used for, it must be put into water; it will be unclean until evening. Then it will be clean.
Hiche ganhing hose hi athiteng ahung kipai lhah namuna aho khah pen pen chu thinglom lah hihen, ponsil chung hihen, savun chung hihen, dip chunga hijong leh, manchah jat chom choma kimang bel chung hijong leh, aho khah pen pen chu aboh a um ding, aho khah penpa chu nilhuma aboh ahitan, nilhum tengleh amapa chu kisutheng thei ding ahi.
33 For every clay pot into or onto which any unclean animal falls, whatever is in the pot will become unclean, and you must destroy that pot.
Hitia ch ganhing aboh hose chu hetman louva leibel sung ahung ho lut khah tah a ahileh, hiche belsunga umjouse jaonaa chu atheng lou ahitan, aleibel jeng jong chu na tekeh diu ahi.
34 Any food that could be eaten but has water on it from such a pot is unclean. Any liquid that is for drinking from such a pot is unclean.
Neh ding hijong leh hichu twiya sopngim thei ahitapon, athenglou aboh a um ding ahi. Hiche leibel sunga twi uma donkha aum khah a ahileh, ama jong chu twi aboh banga aboh a um ding ahi.
35 Anything that one of their carcasses falls on becomes unclean; if it is an oven or small stove, it must be broken to pieces. They are unclean and they must remain unclean to you.
Hitia chu hiche ganhing ho chun athijoua ahokhah pen pen chu atheng louva um ding, meithuh ahin, thaomei bom ho lah ahin, ahokhah pen pen chu tekah ding ahi, ajeh chu hiche manchah thil jouse chu aboh ahitan, nangho dia jong atheng loua pang ahitai.
36 A spring or cistern for collecting water remains clean; but anyone who touches their carcass is unclean.
Itobang khat a twinah le twisam putdoh namun ahikhah levang hichu athenga um ding ahinai, hinlah thil dang tongkha pen pen chu ganhing aboh bang banga chu aboh atheng louva um ding ahi.
37 If any part of their carcass falls upon any seeds for planting, those seeds will still be clean.
Chule hitobang ganhing ho chun muchi tudia kikoi, hiche ganhing athisa neokhat touin atoh khah a ahileh, hiche muchi tuding chu athenga um ding ahi.
38 But if water is put on the seeds, and if any part of their carcass falls on them, then they will be unclean to you.
Hiche muchi tuding chu twiya kichop nousa ahileh, hiche ganhing atheng lou thilong in ahokhah tah jeh a chu, hiche muchi tuding chu nangho dia atheng lou ahi.
39 If any animal that you may eat dies, then he who touches the carcass will be unclean until evening.
Naneh ngaiyu gancha khattou athi khah a ahileh, hiche gancha thilong tongkha pen pen chu koi hijongleu chun nilhum keiya atheng loua um ding ahi.
40 Whoever eats any of that carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. Anyone who picks up such a carcass will wash his clothes and be unclean until evening.
Hiche gancha thikamsa nekha chan chun aponsil akisop ngim ding, hinlah amachu nilhum geiya athenglou aboh ahitai. Hiche bang achu koi hijong leu chun nalah uva hiche ganthikam pole apang aum khah leh, ama chun aponsil akisop ngima nilhum kahsea atheng loua um ding ahi.
41 Every animal that creeps on the ground is to be detested; it must not be eaten.
Chule ganhing ahon hon'a lhakhom chele jouse chu, nanghon napam paidiu ahi, hichengse chu naneh thei louhel diu ahi.
42 Whatever crawls on its belly, and whatever walks on all four legs, or whatever has many feet—all the animals that creep on the ground, these you must not eat, for they are to be detested.
Ganhing aop a kithol lea, akeng li neiya aoipoh a kithol, keng tamtah neiya kithol jaonaa ahon hon'a kithol khom hojong naneh lou diu, ajeh chu thet umtah ganhing ahiuve.
43 You must not make yourselves unclean with any living creatures that creep; you must not make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be made impure by them.
Hitobang ganhing aop a kithol ahon hon'a lhakhom hochu, tohjong natoh khah lou diu hichea kona chu dalbola naum lou nadiu ahi; hichengsea kon chun kisu boh hih hel un, hijeh chun naboh nalou diuvin um cheh un.
44 For I am Yahweh your God. You are to keep yourselves holy, therefore, and be holy, because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves with any kind of animal that moves about on the ground.
Ajeh chu keima hi nang ho jouse Pathen chu ka hin, keima kathen banga nang ho jong nathen diu, hijeh chun vannoi leiset a aop a kithol ganhing akona nakiven doh uva nakisuh boh lou diu ahi.
45 For I am Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You must therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Hicheng ho jouse chung achu keima tah nangho jouse Pathen ka hi jeh in, nangho jouse Egypt gam'a kona nahin puidoh pau Pakai kahi, keima kathen bang banga hi nangho jong nathen diu ahi.
46 This is the law regarding the animals, the birds, every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the ground,
Tua na heng uva kisei hi ahileh, sa ahin, vacha ahin, twi lah'a cheng ganhing namkim ahin, twi lah'a kithol jouse ahin, leiset chunga ahon hon'a lhakhoma ganhing ho ahin chule achungchang cheh uva dan um ahin,
47 for which a distinction is to be made between the unclean and the clean, and between the living things that may be eaten and the living things that may not be eaten.'”
Hiche ganhing ho jouse lah akona chu atheng le athenglou dat khen nadinga, neh thei ding le nehthei lou ding thudola dan kisem ahi.
