Judges 10
1 After Abimelech, Tola son of Puah son of Dodo, a man from Issachar who lived in Shamir, in the hill country of Ephraim, arose to deliver Israel.
És támadt Abímélekh után, hogy megsegítse Izraélt, Tólá, Púa fia, Dódó fia, Jisszákhárbeli férfiú; s az lakott Sámírban, Efraim hegyégében.
2 He judged Israel twenty-three years. He died and was buried in Shamir.
Bírája volt Izraélnek huszonhárom évig; meghalt és eltemették Sámírban.
3 He was followed by Jair the Gileadite. He judged Israel twenty-two years.
És támadt utána a gileádi Jáír; bírája volt Izraélnak huszonkét évig.
4 He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth Jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead.
Volt neki harmincz fia, kik harmincz vemhén nyargaltak és harmincz városuk volt; ezeket nevezik Jáír falvainak mind e mai napig, a melyek Gileád országában vannak.
5 Jair died and was buried in Kamon.
Meghalt Jáir s eltemették Kámónban.
6 The people of Israel added to the evil they had done in the sight of Yahweh and worshiped the Baals, the Ashtoreths, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the people of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned Yahweh and no longer worshiped him.
Izraél fiai tovább is azt tették, a mi rossz az Örökkévaló szemeiben; szolgálták ugyanis a Báalokat, az Astóreteket, Arám isteneit, Czídón isteneit, Móáb isteneit, Ammón fiainak isteneit és a filiszteusok isteneit, elhagyták az Örökkévalót és nem szolgálták őt.
7 Yahweh burned with anger toward Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the Ammonites.
S föllobbant az Örökkévaló haragja Izraél ellen és eladta őket a filiszteusok kezébe és Ammón fiainak kezébe.
8 They crushed and oppressed the people of Israel that year, and for eighteen years they oppressed all the people of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
Összetörték és zsarolták Izraél fiait abban az évben – tizennyolcz éven át – mind az Izraél fiait, kik a Jordánon túl, a Gileádban levő emóri országban voltak.
9 Then the Ammonites crossed over the Jordan to fight against Judah, against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was greatly distressed.
És átkeltek Ammón fiai a Jordánon, hogy harczoljanak Jehúda ellen, meg Benjámin ellen és Efraim háza ellen is; és meg volt szorulva Izraél nagyon.
10 Then the people of Israel called out to Yahweh, saying, “We have sinned against you, because we abandoned our God and worshiped the Baals.”
Akkor kiáltottak Izraél fiai az Örökkévalóhoz, mondván: Vétkeztünk ellened, mert elhagytuk Istenünket és szolgáltuk a Báalokat.
11 Yahweh said to the people of Israel, “Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,
És szólt az Örökkévaló Izraél fiaihoz: Nemde Egyiptomtól, az emóritól, Ammón fiaitól és a filiszteusoktól –
12 and also from the Sidonians? The Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you; you called out to me, and I delivered you from their power.
Czídónbeliek is, meg Amálék és Máón elnyomtak titeket s midőn kiáltottatok hozzám, megsegítettelek kezükből.
13 Yet you abandoned me again and worshiped other gods. Therefore, I will not keep adding to the times I deliver you.
Ti azonban elhagytatok engem és szolgáltatok más isteneket; azért nem segítlek meg többé benneteket.
14 Go and call out to the gods that you have worshiped. Let them rescue you when you have trouble.”
Menjetek és kiáltsatok azon istenekhez, melyeket választottatok; azok segítsenek nektek szorultságtok idejében.
15 The people of Israel said to Yahweh, “We have sinned. Do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please, rescue us this day.”
Szóltak Izraél fiai az Örökkévalóhoz: Vétkeztünk, tégy te velünk mind a szerint, a mint jónak tetszik szemeidben; csak ments meg minket e mai napon.
16 They got rid of the foreign gods among them and they worshiped Yahweh. Then Yahweh could bear Israel's misery no longer.
És eltávolították az idegen isteneket közepükből és szolgálták az Örökkévalót; és megfájlalta lelke Izraél szenvedését.
17 Then Ammonites gathered together and set up camp in Gilead. The Israelites came together and set up their camp at Mizpah.
Gyülekeztek Ammón fiai és táboroztak Gileádban; ekkor összegyűltek Izraél fiai és táboroztak Miczpában.
18 The leaders of the people of Gilead said one to another, “Who is the man who will begin to fight the Ammonites? He will become the leader over all those who are living in Gilead.”
És szólt a nép, Gileád nagyjai, egyik a másikához: Ki az a férfiú, ki harczolni kezd Ammón fiai ellen – az legyen fejévé mind a Gileád lakóinak.
