Joshua 6
1 Now all the entrances to Jericho were closed because of the army of Israel. No one went out and no one came in.
Jericho aber war eine Sperrfestung. Nun wurde es von den Israeliten eingeschlossen. Und niemand konnte aus noch ein.
2 Yahweh said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hand, its king, and its trained soldiers.
Da sprach der Herr zu Josue: "Jetzt gebe ich Jericho in deine Hand nebst seinem König und den Kriegern.
3 You must march around the city, all the men of war going around the city one time. You must do this for six days.
Zieht um die Stadt, ihr Streiter all! Zieht einmal um die Stadt! So sollst du sechs Tage tun.
4 Seven priests must carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you must march around the city seven times, and the priests must sound blasts on the trumpets.
Und sieben Priester sollen sieben Lärmhörner vor der Lade tragen! Am siebten Tage sollt ihr siebenmal um die Stadt ziehen, und die Priester sollen in die Hörner stoßen!
5 Then they must sound a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet all the people must shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat. The soldiers must attack, each one going straight ahead.”
Wenn das Lärmhorn anhaltend ertönt und wenn ihr den Hörnerschall hört, dann soll das ganze Volk ein gewaltiges Geschrei erheben! Dann stürzt die Stadtmauer in sich zusammen, und das Volk kann einziehen, jeder, wo er steht."
6 Then Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark of Yahweh.”
Josue, Nuns Sohn, berief nun die Priester und sprach zu ihnen: "Tragt die Bundeslade! Sieben Priester sollen sieben Lärmhörner vor des Herrn Lade tragen!"
7 He said to the people, “Go over and march around the city, and the armed men will go ahead of the ark of Yahweh.”
Und sie sprachen zum Volke: "Zieht rings um die Stadt! Die Vorhut soll vor des Herrn Lade herziehen!"
8 Just as Joshua had said to the people, the seven priests carried the seven trumpets of rams' horns before Yahweh. As they advanced, they gave a blast on the trumpets. The ark of the covenant of Yahweh followed after them.
Es geschah, wie Josue zum Volke gesagt hatte. Die sieben Priester, die die sieben Lärmhörner vor dem Herrn trugen, zogen einher und stießen in die Hörner, und die Bundeslade des Herrn kam hinter ihnen.
9 Armed men walked before the priests, and they made a blast on their trumpets, but then the rear guard walked up behind the ark, and the priests blew their trumpets continually.
Die Vorhut aber ging vor den in die Hörner stoßenden Priestern, und die Nachhut ging hinter der Lade, fort und fort in die Hörner stoßend.
10 But Joshua commanded the people, saying, “Do not shout. No sound must leave your mouths until the day I tell you to shout. Only then you must shout.”
Dem Volke aber gebot Josue: "Ihr sollt nicht lärmen und eure Stimme nicht hören lassen! Kein Laut soll aus eurem Mund kommen, bis ich euch sage: 'Schreit!' Dann erhebt das Kriegsgeschrei!"
11 So he caused the ark of Yahweh to go around the city one time that day. Then they entered their camp, and they stayed the night in the camp.
So ließ er die Lade des Herrn einmal rings um die Stadt gehen. Dann gingen sie ins Lager und nächtigten im Lager.
12 Then Joshua got up early in the morning, and the priests picked up the ark of Yahweh.
Josue aber stand früh am Morgen auf; da nahmen die Priester die Lade des Herrn.
13 The seven priests, who were carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark of Yahweh, walked steadily and gave blasts on the trumpets. Armed soldiers were walking in front of them. But when the rear guard walked after the ark of Yahweh, then the trumpets gave out continual blasts.
Die sieben Priester, die Träger der sieben Lärmhörner vor des Herrn Lade, zogen hin und stießen fort und fort in die Hörner. Die Vorhut ging vor ihnen her, und die Nachhut folgte der Lade des Herrn, fort und fort in die Hörner stoßend.
14 They marched around the city one time the second day and returned to the camp. They did this for six days.
Sie zogen auch am zweiten Tage einmal um die Stadt und kehrten dann ins Lager zurück. So taten sie sechs Tage.
15 It was on the seventh day that they got up early at daybreak, and they marched around the city in the same way that was their pattern, this time for seven times. It was on this day that they marched around the city seven times.
Am siebten Tage aber erhoben sie sich bei Anbruch der Morgenröte und zogen nach dieser Ordnung siebenmal um die Stadt. Nur an diesem Tage umzogen sie siebenmal die Stadt.
16 It was on the seventh day, when the priests gave a blast with the trumpets, that Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For Yahweh has given you the city.
Beim siebtenmal stießen die Priester in die Hörner, und Josue rief dem Volke zu: "Macht ein Geschrei! Denn der Herr gibt die Stadt in eure Hand.
17 The city and all that is in it will be set apart to Yahweh for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute will live—she and all the ones with her in her house—because she hid the men we sent.
Die Stadt aber und alles, was darin ist, sei dem Herrn gebannt! Nur die Wirtin Rachab soll am Leben bleiben nebst allen, die bei ihr im Hause sind! Denn sie hat die Boten versteckt, die wir gesandt.
18 But as for you, be on guard about taking the things set apart for destruction, so that after you mark them for destruction, you do not then take any of them. If you do this, you will make the camp of Israel something that must be destroyed and you will bring trouble on it.
Hütet euch aber vor dem Banngut, daß ihr es nicht verschiebt und von dem Banngut nehmt! Ihr brächtet damit das Lager Israels in den Bann und stürztet es ins Unglück.
19 All the silver, gold, and the things made of bronze and iron are set apart to Yahweh. They must go into the treasury of Yahweh.”
Alles Silber und Gold, alles eherne und eiserne Gerät sei dem Herrn geweiht! In den Schatz des Herrn soll es kommen!"
20 When they gave blasts with the trumpets, the people gave a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so every man charged straight in and captured the city.
Da erhob das Volk ein Geschrei, und sie stießen in die Hörner. Als das Volk nämlich den Hörnerschall vernahm, erhob das Volk ein gewaltiges Geschrei. Da stürzte die Mauer in sich zusammen. Und das Volk zog in die Stadt, wo jeder gerade stand. So nahmen sie die Stadt ein.
21 They completely destroyed all that was in the city by the edge of the sword—man and woman, young and old, oxen, sheep and donkeys.
Und sie bannten alles in der Stadt, Mann und Weib, jung und alt, Rinder, Schafe und Esel mit des Schwertes Schärfe.
22 Then Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute's house. Bring out the woman and all who are with her, as you swore to her.”
Den beiden Männern aber, die die Gegend erforscht hatten, hatte Josue gesagt: "Geht in das Haus jener Wirtin und holt das Weib mit all den Seinigen von da heraus, wie ihr ihr geschworen habt!"
23 So the young men who had been spies went in and brought Rahab out. They brought out her father, mother, brothers, and all the relatives that were with her. They brought them to a place outside the camp of Israel.
Da gingen die jungen Männer, die Kundschafter, hin und führten Rachab, ihren Vater, ihre Mutter, ihre Brüder und all die Ihrigen heraus. Ihre ganze Sippe führten sie heraus; dann brachten sie diese außerhalb des Lagers Israels.
24 They burned the city and everything in it. Only the silver, gold, and the vessels of bronze and iron were put into the treasury of the house of Yahweh.
Die Stadt aber und alles, was darin, steckten sie in Brand. Nur das Silber und Gold, die ehernen und eisernen Geräte gaben sie in den Schatz des Herrn.
25 But Joshua allowed Rahab the prostitute, her father's household, and all that were with her to live. She lives in Israel to this day because she hid the men whom Joshua sent to spy on Jericho.
Die Wirtin Rachab aber, ihr Vaterhaus und all die Ihrigen hatte Josue leben lassen. Und so blieb sie unter den Israeliten bis auf diesen Tag, weil sie die Boten versteckt hatte, die Josue gesandt, Jericho auszuspähen.
26 Then Joshua commanded them at that time with an oath, and he said, “Cursed is the man in Yahweh's sight who rebuilds this city, Jericho. At the cost of his firstborn son, he will lay the foundation, and at the cost of his youngest son, he will set up its gates.”
Zu jener Zeit aber sprach Josue den Fluch aus: "Verflucht sei vor dem Herrn der Mann, der es wagt, diese Stadt Jericho wiederaufzubauen! Auf seinen Erstgeborenen soll er sie gründen und auf seinen Jüngsten ihre Pforten setzen!"
27 So Yahweh was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.
Und der Herr war mit Josue, und sein Ruf ging durch das ganze Land.
