1 The second casting of lots fell to Simeon, clan by clan. Their inheritance was in the middle of the inheritance that belonged to the tribe of Judah.
And the second lot came out for the children of Symeon; and their inheritance was in the midst of the lots of the children of Juda.
2 They had for their inheritance Beersheba, Sheba, Moladah,
And their lot was Beersabee, and Samaa, and Caladam,
3 Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem,
and Arsola, and Bola, and Jason,
4 Eltolad, Bethul, and Hormah.
and Erthula, and Bula, and Herma,
5 Simeon also had Ziklag, Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah,
and Sikelac, and Baethmachereb, and Sarsusin,
6 Beth Lebaoth, and Sharuhen. These were thirteen cities, including their villages.
and Batharoth, and their fields, thirteen cities, and their villages.
7 Simeon also had Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan. These were four cities, including their villages.
Eremmon, and Thalcha, and Jether, and Asan; four cities and their villages,
8 These were together, including their the villages around these cities as far as Baalath Beer (the same as Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of Simeon, clan by clan.
round about their cities as far as Balec as [men] go to Bameth southward: this [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Symeon according to their families.
9 The inheritance of the tribe of Simeon formed part of the territory of the tribe of Judah. Because the portion of land assigned to the tribe of Judah was too large for them, the tribe of Simeon received their inheritance out of the middle of their portion.
The inheritance of the tribe of the children of Symeon [was a part] of the lot of Juda, for the portion of the children of Juda was greater than theirs; and the children of Symeon inherited in the midst of their lot.
10 The third casting of lots fell to the tribe of Zebulun, clan by clan. The border of their inheritance began at Sarid.
And the third lot came out to Zabulon according to their families: the bounds of their inheritance shall be—Esedekgola shall be their border,
11 Their border went up westward toward Maralah and touched Dabbesheth; then it extended to the brook that was opposite Jokneam.
the sea and Magelda, and it shall reach to Baetharaba in the valley, which is opposite Jekman.
12 From Sarid the border turned eastward toward the east and went to the border of Kisloth Tabor. From there it went to Daberath and then up to Japhia.
And the border returned from Sedduc in a contrary direction eastward from Baethsamys, to the borders of Chaselothaith, and shall pass on to Dabiroth, and shall proceed upward to Phangai.
13 From there it passed on eastward to Gath Hepher, and then to Eth Kazin; next it went to Rimmon and turned toward Neah.
And thence it shall come round in the opposite direction eastward to Gebere to the city of Catasem, and shall go on to Remmonaa Matharaoza.
14 The border made a turn to the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El.
And the borders shall come round northward to Amoth, and their going out shall be at Gaephael,
15 This region included the cities of Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. There were twelve cities, including their villages.
and Catanath, and Nabaal, and Symoon, and Jericho, and Baethman.
16 This was the inheritance of the tribe of Zebulun, clan by clan, including these cities, including their villages.
This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Zabulon according to their families, [these] cities and their villages.
17 The fourth casting of lots fell to Issachar, clan by clan.
And the fourth lot came out to Issachar.
18 Their territory included Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,
And their borders were Jazel, and Chasaloth, and Sunam,
19 Hapharaim, Shion, and Anaharath.
and Agin, and Siona, and Reeroth,
20 It also included Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
and Anachereth, and Dabiron, and Kison, and Rebes,
21 Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah, and Beth Pazzez.
and Remmas, and Jeon, and Tomman, and Aemarec, and Bersaphes.
22 Their border also touched Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen cities, including their villages.
And the boundaries shall border upon Gaethbor, and upon Salim westward, and Baethsamys; and the extremity of his bounds shall be Jordan.
23 This was the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to their clans—the cities, including their villages.
This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
24 The fifth casting of lots fell to the tribe of Asher, clan by clan.
And the fifth lot came out to Aser according to their families.
25 Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Akshaph,
And their borders were Exeleketh, and Aleph, and Baethok, and Keaph,
26 Allammelek, Amad, and Mishall. On the west the boundary extended to Carmel and Shihor Libnath.
and Elimelech, and Amiel, and Maasa, and the lot will border on Carmel westward, and on Sion, and Labanath.
27 Then it turned eastward to Beth Dagon and went as far as Zebulun, and then to the Valley of Iphtah El, northward to Beth Emek and Neiel. Then it continued on to Kabul toward the north.
And it will return westward from Baethegeneth, and will join Zabulon and Ekgai, and Phthaeel northwards, and the borders will come to Saphthaebaethme, and Inael, and will go on to Chobamasomel,
28 It then went on to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.
and Elbon, and Raab, and Ememaon, and Canthan to great Sidon.
29 The border turned back to Ramah, and then to the fortified city of Tyre. Then the border turned to Hosah and ended at the sea, in the region of Akzib,
And the borders shall turn back to Rama, and to the fountain of Masphassat, and the Tyrians; and the borders shall return to Jasiph, and their going forth shall be the sea, and Apoleb, and Echozob,
30 Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob. There were twenty-two cities, including their villages.
and Archob, and Aphec, and Raau.
31 This was the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, clan by clan—the cities, including their villages.
This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Aser according to their families, the cities and their villages.
32 The sixth casting of lots fell to tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan.
And the sixth lot came out to Nephthali.
33 Their border ran from Heleph, from the oak at Zaanannim, on to Adami Nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum; it ended at the Jordan.
And their borders were Moolam, and Mola, and Besemiin, and Arme, and Naboc, and Jephthamai, as far as Dodam; and their goings out were Jordan.
34 The border turned westward to Aznoth Tabor and went on to Hukkok; it touched Zebulun on the south, and reached to Asher on the west and Judah on the east at the Jordan River.
And the coasts will return westward by Athabor, and will go out thence to Jacana, and will border on Zabulon southward, and Aser will join [it] westward, and Jordan eastward.
35 The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,
And the walled cities of the Tyrians, Tyre, and Omathadaketh, and Kenereth,
36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
and Armaith, and Areal, and Asor,
37 Kedesh, Edrei, and En Hazor.
and Cades, and Assari, and the well of Asor;
38 There were also Yiron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath, and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen cities, including their villages.
and Keroe, and Megalaarim, and Baetthame, and Thessamys.
39 This was the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan—the cities, including their villages.
This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Nephthali.
40 The seventh casting of lots fell to the tribe of Dan, clan by clan.
And the seventh lot came out to Dan.
41 The territory of its inheritance included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh,
And their borders were Sarath, and Asa, and the cities of Sammaus,
42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, and Ithlah.
and Salamin, and Ammon, and Silatha,
43 It also included Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
and Elon, and Thamnatha, and Accaron;
44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
and Alcatha, and Begethon, and Gebeelan,
45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon,
and Azor, and Banaebacat, and Gethremmon.
46 Me Jarkon, and Rakkon along with the territory across from Joppa.
And westward of Hieracon the border [was] near to Joppa.
47 When the territory of the tribe of Dan was lost to them, Dan attacked Leshem, fought against it, capturing it and striking it with the sword; taking possession of it and settled in it. They renamed Leshem, calling it Dan after their ancestor.
This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan, according to their families, these [are] their cities and their villages: and the children of Dan did not drive out the Amorite who afflicted them in the mountain; and the Amorite would not suffer them to come down into the valley, but they forcibly took from them the border of their portion.
48 This was the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, clan by clan—the cities, including their villages.
And the sons of Dan went and fought against Lachis, and took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword; and they lived in it, and called the name of it Lasendan: and the Amorite continued to dwell in Edom and in Salamin: and the hand of Ephraim prevailed against them, and they became tribute to them.
49 When they finished the allocation of the land as an inheritance, the people of Israel gave an inheritance among themselves to Joshua son of Nun.
And they proceeded to take possession of the land according to their borders, and the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Naue among them,
50 By the command of Yahweh they gave him the city for which he asked, Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the city and lived there.
by the command of God, and they gave him the city which he asked for, Thamnasarach, which is in the mount of Ephraim; and he built the city, and lived in it.
51 These are the inheritances that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of the tribes of the people of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh, before Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. So they finished assigning the land.
These [are] the divisions which Eleazar the priest divided by lot, and Joshua the [son] of Naue, and the heads of families among the tribes of Israel, according to the lots, in Selo before the Lord by the doors of the tabernacle of testimony, and they went to take possession of the land.
