Joshua 18
1 Then the whole assembly of the people of Israel met together at Shiloh. They set up the tent of meeting there and they conquered the land before them.
੧ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਹੋਈ, ਉੱਥੇ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਨੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇਸ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
2 There were still seven tribes among the people of Israel whose inheritance had not been assigned.
੨ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ ਗੋਤਾਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੰਡੀ ਗਈ।
3 Joshua said to the people of Israel, “How long will you put off going into the land that Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, has given you?
੩ਸੋ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡਿਆਂ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਦੇਰ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ?
4 Appoint for yourselves three men from each tribe, and I will send them out. They will set out and survey the land up and down. They will write out a description of it with a view to their inheritances, and then they will come back to me.
੪ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਗੋਤ ਤੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਠਹਿਰਾਓ। ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਲਖ਼ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣ, ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ।
5 They will divide it into seven sections. Judah will remain in their territory on the south, and the house of Joseph will continue in their territory in the north.
੫ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਣ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੱਦ ਕੋਲ ਦੱਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੱਦ ਕੋਲ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਹੇ।
6 You will describe the land in seven sections and bring the description here to me. I will cast lots for you here before Yahweh our God.
੬ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਐਥੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
7 The Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of Yahweh is their inheritance. Gad, Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance, beyond Jordan. This is the inheritance that Moses the servant of Yahweh gave them.”
੭ਪਰ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਜਾਜਕਾਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਲਖ਼ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ, ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਗੋਤ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਲਖ਼ ਨੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਪਾਰ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
8 So the men got up and went. Joshua commanded those who went to write the description of the land, saying, “Go up and down in the land and write a description of it and return to me. I will cast lots for you here before Yahweh at Shiloh.”
੮ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਦੱਸਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ, ਫਿਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਮੁੜ ਆਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਥੇ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
9 The men left and walked up and down in the land and wrote a description of it in a scroll by its cities in seven sections, listing the cities in each section. Then they returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.
੯ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਕੋਲ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਆਏ।
10 Then Joshua cast lots for them at Shiloh before Yahweh. It was there that Joshua assigned the land to the people of Israel, and to each was given his portion of the land.
੧੦ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੀਲੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪਰਚੀਆਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਸੋ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
11 The assignment of land for the tribe of Benjamin clan by clan. The territory of their assigned land was located between the descendants of Judah and the descendants of Joseph.
੧੧ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ।
12 On the north side, their border began at the Jordan. The border went up to the ridge north of Jericho, and then up through the hill country westward. There it reached the wilderness of Beth Aven.
੧੨ਉਤਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਯਰਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੀ ਉਚਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਚੜ੍ਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਫੈਲਾਓ ਬੈਤ-ਆਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ।
13 From there the border passed along south in the direction of Luz (the same place as Bethel). Then the border went down to Ataroth Addar, by the mountain that lies south of Beth Horon.
੧੩ਉੱਥੋਂ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਲੂਜ਼ ਵੱਲ ਲੂਜ਼ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਗਈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੈਤਏਲ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਅਟਾਰੋਥ ਅੱਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਉਤਰੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਬੈਤ-ਹੋਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ।
14 The boundary then went in another direction: On the western side it turned toward the south, heading toward the mountain across from Beth Horon. This boundary ended at Kiriath Baal (that is, Kiriath Jearim), a city that belonged to the tribe of Judah. This formed the border on the western side.
੧੪ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲਹਿੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੈਤ-ਹੋਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਫੈਲਾਓ ਕਿਰਯਥ-ਬਆਲ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿਰਯਥ-ਯਾਰੀਮ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪੱਛਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਸਾ ਸੀ।
15 The south side began just outside of Kiriath Jearim. The border went from there to Ephron, to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.
੧੫ਦੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਪਾਸਾ ਕਿਰਯਥ-ਯਾਰੀਮ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਨਫ਼ਤੋਆਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ।
16 The boundary then went down to the border of the mountain which was opposite the Valley of Ben Hinnom, which was at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim. It then went down to the Valley of Hinnom, south of the slope of the Jebusites, and continued down to En Rogel.
੧੬ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਉਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੱਕ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਨ ਹਿੰਨੋਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਰਫ਼ਾਈਮ ਦੀ ਖੱਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਉਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਿੰਨੋਮ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਯਬੂਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਉਤਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਏਨ-ਰੋਗੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਰੀ।
17 It turned northward, going in the direction of En Shemesh, and from there it went out to Geliloth, which was opposite the ascent of Adummim. Then it went down to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
੧੭ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਏਨ-ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਕੋਲ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਲੀਲੋਥ ਤੱਕ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅੱਦੁਮੀਮ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬੋਹਨ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੱਕ ਉਤਰੀ।
18 It passed on to the north of the shoulder of Beth Arabah and down to the Arabah.
੧੮ਉਹ ਅਰਾਬਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਲੰਘੀ ਤਾਂ ਅਰਾਬਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਰੀ।
19 The border passed on to the north shoulder of Beth Hoglah. The border ended at the north bay of the Salt Sea, at the southern end of the Jordan. This was the boundary on the south.
੧੯ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਹੱਦ ਬੈਤ ਹਗਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਹੱਦ ਦਾ ਫੈਲਾਓ ਖਾਰੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਉਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਦੀ ਖਾੜੀ ਤੱਕ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਯਰਦਨ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਸੀ।
20 The Jordan formed its border on the eastern side. This was the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin, and it was given clan by clan, border after border, all around.
੨੦ਪੂਰਬ ਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਯਰਦਨ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਲਖ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਨ।
21 Now the cities of the tribe of Benjamin, clan by clan, had these cities: Jericho, Beth Hoglah, Emek Keziz,
੨੧ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ, ਯਰੀਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਹਗਲਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਏਮਕ ਕਸੀਸ
22 Beth Arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,
੨੨ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਅਰਾਬਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਰਯਿਮ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤਏਲ
23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,
੨੩ਅਤੇ ਅੱਵੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਓਫਰਾਹ
24 Kephar Ammoni, Ophni, and Geba. There were twelve cities, including their villages.
੨੪ਅਤੇ ਕਫ਼ਰ-ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਫ਼ਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਬਾ। ਬਾਰਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ
25 There were also the cities of Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,

26 Mizpah, Kephirah, Mozah,

27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,
੨੭ਅਤੇ ਰਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਰਪਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਲਾਹ
28 Zelah, Haeleph, Jebus (the same as Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath. There were fourteen cities, including their villages. This was the inheritance of Benjamin for their clans.
੨੮ਅਤੇ ਸੇਲਾ ਅਲਫ ਅਤੇ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਬਬ ਕਿਰਯਥ। ਚੌਦਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ। ਇਹ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸੀ।
