< John 8 >

1 Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
Asi Jesu wakaenda kugomo reMiorivhi.
2 Early in the morning he came to the temple again, and all the people came; he sat down and taught them.
Zvino mangwanani-ngwanani wakauyazve kutembere, vanhu vese ndokuuya kwaari; iye ndokugara pasi akavadzidzisa.
3 The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in the act of adultery. They placed her in the middle.
Zvino vanyori neVaFarisi vakauya kwaari nemukadzi wakabatwa mukufeva, vakati vamumisa pakati,
4 Then they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.
vakati kwaari: Mudzidzisi, mukadzi uyu wabatwa achifeva, pachiitiko chaipo;
5 Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such people; what do you say about her?”
zvino Mozisi pamurairo wakatiraira kuti vakadaro vatakwe nemabwe; naizvozvo imwi munoti kudini?
6 They said this in order to trap him so that they might have something to accuse him about, but Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
Asi izvozvi vakareva vachimuedza, kuti vave nechavangamupomera. Asi Jesu wakakotamira pasi, akanyora pasi nemunwe, seasina kuvanzwa.
7 When they continued asking him questions, he stood up and said to them, “The one among you who has no sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
Zvino vakati vachiramba vachimubvunza, akatasamuka akati kwavari: Asina chivi pakati penyu, ngaatange kukanda ibwe kwaari.
8 Again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger.
Zvino akakotamirazve pasi, akanyora pasi.
9 When they heard it, they left one by one, beginning with the oldest. Finally Jesus was left alone, with the woman who had been in the middle.
Zvino ivo vanzwa, vachipiwa mhosva nehana yavo, vakabuda umwe-umwe, kutanga kuvakuru kusvikira kune vekupedzisira; Jesu akasara ari ega, nemukadzi amire pakati.
10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”
Jesu wakati atasamuka, akasaona munhu asi mukadzi, akati kwaari: Mai, varipi vaya vapomeri vako? Hakuna wakupa mhosva here?
11 She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”]
Iye ndokuti: Hakuna, Ishe. Jesu ndokuti kwaari: Neni handikupi mhosva. Enda, usachitadzazve.
12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”
Naizvozvo Jesu wakataurazve kwavari, achiti: Ini ndiri chiedza chenyika; anonditevera haangatongofambi murima, asi achava nechiedza cheupenyu.
13 The Pharisees said to him, “You bear witness about yourself; your witness is not true.”
Naizvozvo VaFarisi vakati kwaari: Iwe unopupura nezvako; uchapupu hwako hahuna chokwadi.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness about myself, my witness is true. I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
Jesu akapindura akati kwavari: Kunyange ndichipupura nezvangu ini, uchapupu hwangu ndehwechokwadi; nokuti ndinoziva kwandakabva, uye kwandinoenda; asi imwi hamuzivi kwandakabva, uye kwandinoenda.
15 You judge according the flesh; I judge no one.
Imwi munotonga maererano nenyama; ini handitongi munhu.
16 Yet if I judge, my judgment is true because I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.
Asi kunyange ini ndichitonga, kutonga kwangu ndekwechokwadi; nokuti handisi ndega, asi ini naBaba vakandituma.
17 Yes, and in your law it is written that the testimony of two men is true.
Uye mumurairo wenyu makanyorwa kuti uchapupu hwevanhu vaviri ndehwechokwadi.
18 I am he who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.”
Ndini ndinopupura nezvangu, naBaba vakandituma vanopupura nezvangu.
19 They said to him, “Where is your father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father; if you had known me, you would have known my Father also.”
Naizvozvo vakati kwaari: Baba vako varipi? Jesu akapindura akati: Hamuzivi ini, kana Baba vangu. Dai maindiziva ini, mungadai maiziva Baba vanguwo.
20 He said these words in the treasury as he taught in the temple, and no one arrested him because his hour had not yet come.
Jesu wakataura mashoko awa muchivigiro chezvipo, achidzidzisa mutembere; asi hakuna munhu wakamubata, nokuti awa rake rakange risati rasvika.
21 So again he said to them, “I am going away; you will seek me and will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”
Naizvozvo Jesu wakatizve kwavari: Ini ndinoenda, uye muchanditsvaka, mukafira muzvivi zvenyu; ini pandinoenda, imwi hamugoni kuuyapo.
22 The Jews said, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, 'Where I am going you cannot come'?”
Naizvozvo VaJudha vakati: Achazviuraya kanhi? Nokuti anoti: Pandinoenda ini, imwi hamugoni kuuyapo?
23 Jesus said to them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
Zvino akati kwavari: Imwi munobva pasi, ini ndinobva kumusoro; imwi munobva panyika ino, ini handibvi panyika ino.
24 Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.”
Naizvozvo ndareva kwamuri kuti muchafira muzvivi zvenyu; nokuti kana musinganditendi kuti ndini iye, muchafira muzvivi zvenyu.
25 They said therefore to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “What I have said to you from the beginning.
Naizvozvo vakati kwaari: Ndiwe ani? Jesu ndokuti kwavari: Ndizvo zvandakuudzaiwo kubva pakutanga.
26 I have many things to speak and to judge about you. However, he who sent me is true; and the things that I heard from him, these things I say to the world.”
Ndine zvinhu zvizhinji zvekutaura nekutonga pamusoro penyu; asi wakandituma ndewechokwadi, uye izvo zvandakanzwa ini kwaari ndizvo zvandinotaura kunyika.
27 They did not understand that he was speaking to them about the Father.
Havana kunzwisisa kuti anotaura kwavari zvaBaba.
28 Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then will you know that I AM, and that I do nothing of myself. As the Father taught me, I speak these things.
Naizvozvo Jesu wakati kwavari: Kana masimudza Mwanakomana wemunhu, ipapo muchaziva kuti ndini iye, uye handiiti chinhu pachangu, asi Baba vangu sezvavakandidzidzisa, ndinotaura zvinhu izvi.
29 He who sent me is with me, and he has not left me alone, because I always do what is pleasing to him.”
Zvino iye wakandituma aneni; Baba havana kundisiya ndega, nokuti ini ndinoita nguva dzese zvinovafadza.
30 As Jesus was saying these things, many believed in him.
Achiri kutaura izvi vazhinji vakatenda kwaari.
31 Jesus said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples;
Naizvozvo Jesu wakati kuVaJudha vakatenda kwaari: Kana imwi muchirambira mushoko rangu, muri vadzidzi vangu zvirokwazvo;
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
uye muchaziva chokwadi, uye chokwadi chichakusunungurai.
33 They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been slaves of anyone; how can you say, 'You will be set free'?”
Vakamupindura vakati: Tiri mbeu yaAbhurahama, uye hatina kutongova varanda vemunhu; iwe unoreva sei kuti: Muchava vakasunungurwa?
34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.
Jesu akavapindura akati: Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Ani nani anoita chivi muranda wechivi.
35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. (aiōn g165)
Uye muranda haagari mumba nekusingaperi; mwanakomana anogara nekusingaperi. (aiōn g165)
36 Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will be truly free.
Naizvozvo kana Mwanakomana achikusunungurai, muchava vakasununguka zvirokwazvo.
37 I know that you are Abraham's descendants; you seek to kill me because my word has no place in you.
Ndinoziva kuti muri mbeu yaAbhurahama; asi munotsvaka kundiuraya, nokuti shoko rangu harina nzvimbo mamuri.
38 I say what I have seen with my Father, and you also do what you heard from your father.”
Ini ndinotaura izvo zvandakaona kuna Baba vangu; naizvozvo nemwi munoita izvo zvamakaona kuna baba venyu.
39 They answered and said to him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.
Vakapindura vakati kwaari: Baba vedu ndiAbhurahama. Jesu akati kwavari: Dai maiva vana vaAbhurahama, maiita mabasa aAbhurahama.
40 Yet, now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
Asi ikozvino munotsvaka kundiuraya, munhu wakakuudzai chokwadi, chandakanzwa kuna Mwari; izvo Abhurahama haana kuzviita.
41 You do the works of your father.” They said to him, “We were not born in sexual immorality; we have one Father: God.”
Imwi munoita mabasa ababa venyu. Naizvozvo vakati kwaari: Hatina kuberekwa neupombwe isu; tina Baba vamwe, Mwari.
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.
Jesu akati kwavari: Dai Mwari aiva Baba venyu, maindida; nokuti ini ndakabuda ndichibva kuna Mwari; nokuti handina kuzviuyira, asi iye wakandituma.
43 Why do you not understand my words? It is because you cannot hear my words.
Sei musinganzwisisi nhaurwa yangu? Nokuti hamugoni kunzwa shoko rangu.
44 You are of your father, the devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature because he is a liar and the father of lies.
Imwi muri vababa venyu dhiabhorosi, munoda kuita zvishuvo zvababa venyu. Iye wakange ari mhondi kubva pakutanga, asingagari muchokwadi, nokuti maari hamuna chokwadi. Kana achitaura nhema, anotaura pachake; nokuti mutauri wenhema uye baba vadzo.
45 Yet, because I speak the truth, you do not believe me.
Asi nokuti ini ndinoreva chokwadi, hamunditendi.
46 Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?
Ndiani kwamuri angandipomera pamusoro pechivi? Uye kana ndichireva chokwadi, imwi munoregerei kunditenda?
47 He who is of God hears the words of God; you do not hear them because you are not of God.”
Uyo anobva kuna Mwari anonzwa mashoko aMwari; naizvozvo imwi hamunzwi, nokuti hamubvi kuna Mwari.
48 The Jews answered and said to him, “Do we not truly say that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
Naizvozvo VaJudha vakapindura vakati kwaari: Isu hatina kureva kwazvo here kuti iwe uri muSamaria, uye une dhimoni?
49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.
Jesu akapindura, akati: Ini handina dhimoni, asi ndinokudza Baba vangu; asi imwi munondizvidza.
50 I do not seek my glory; there is one seeking and judging.
Asi ini handitsvaki rumbidzo yangu; ariko anotsvaka nekutonga.
51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” (aiōn g165)
Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Kana munhu akachengeta shoko rangu, haangatongooni rufu nekusingaperi. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham and the prophets died; but you say, 'If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.' (aiōn g165)
Naizvozvo VaJudha vakati kwaari: Ikozvino toziva kuti une dhimoni; Abhurahama wakafa, nevaporofita, asi iwe unoti: Kana munhu akachengeta shoko rangu, haangatongoraviri rufu nekusingaperi. (aiōn g165)
53 You are not greater than our father Abraham who died, are you? The prophets also died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
Iwe uri mukuru kuna baba vedu Abhurahama, vakafa? Nevaporofita vakafa; iwe unozviita ani?
54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing; it is my Father who glorifies me—about whom you say that he is your God.
Jesu akapindura akati: Kana ini ndichizvikudza, rukudzo rwangu harwusi chinhu; ndiBaba vangu vanondikudza, avo imwi vamunoti ndiMwari wenyu.
55 You have not known him, but I know him. If I would say, 'I do not know him,' I would be like you, a liar. However, I know him and keep his word.
Uye hamuna kuvaziva; asi ini ndinovaziva, uye kana ndikati handivazivi, ndichava murevi wenhema semwi; asi ndinovaziva, ndinochengeta shoko ravo.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
Baba venyu Abhurahama vakafara kuona zuva rangu, uye vakariona vakapembera.
57 The Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and you have seen Abraham?”
Naizvozvo VaJudha vakati kwaari: Hausati wava nemakore makumi mashanu, zvino wakaona Abhurahama here?
58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Jesu akati kwavari: Zvirokwazvo, zvirokwazvo, ndinoti kwamuri: Abhurahama asati avapo, ini ndiripo.
59 Then they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
Ipapo vakanonga mabwe kuti vaposhere kwaari; asi Jesu wakazvivanza, akabuda mutembere, achigura nepakati pavo; akapfuura saizvozvo.
