Joel 1
1 This is the word of Yahweh that came to Joel son of Pethuel.
१यहोवा का वचन जो पतूएल के पुत्र योएल के पास पहुँचा, वह यह है:
2 Hear this, you elders, and listen, all you inhabitants of the land. Has anything like this happened in your days or in the days of your ancestors?
२हे पुरनियों, सुनो, हे देश के सब रहनेवालों, कान लगाकर सुनो! क्या ऐसी बात तुम्हारे दिनों में, या तुम्हारे पुरखाओं के दिनों में कभी हुई है?
3 Tell your children about it, and let your children tell their children, and their children the next generation.
३अपने बच्चों से इसका वर्णन करो और वे अपने बच्चों से, और फिर उनके बच्चे आनेवाली पीढ़ी के लोगों से।
4 What the swarming locust has left the great locust has eaten; what the great locust has left the grasshopper has eaten; and what the grasshopper has left the caterpillar has eaten.
४जो कुछ गाजाम नामक टिड्डी से बचा; उसे अर्बे नामक टिड्डी ने खा लिया। और जो कुछ अर्बे नामक टिड्डी से बचा, उसे येलेक नामक टिड्डी ने खा लिया, और जो कुछ येलेक नामक टिड्डी से बचा, उसे हासील नामक टिड्डी ने खा लिया है।
5 Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine, because the sweet wine has been cut off from you.
५हे मतवालों, जाग उठो, और रोओ; और हे सब दाखमधु पीनेवालों, नये दाखमधु के कारण हाय, हाय, करो; क्योंकि वह तुम को अब न मिलेगा।
6 For a nation has come up upon my land, strong and without number. His teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he has the teeth of a lioness.
६देखो, मेरे देश पर एक जाति ने चढ़ाई की है, वह सामर्थी है, और उसके लोग अनगिनत हैं; उसके दाँत सिंह के से, और डाढ़ें सिंहनी की सी हैं।
7 He has made my vineyard into a desolate place and has stripped my fig tree bare. He has stripped its bark and thrown it away; the branches are bare white.
७उसने मेरी दाखलता को उजाड़ दिया, और मेरे अंजीर के वृक्ष को तोड़ डाला है; उसने उसकी सब छाल छीलकर उसे गिरा दिया है, और उसकी डालियाँ छिलने से सफेद हो गई हैं।
8 Mourn like a virgin dressed in sackcloth for the death of her young husband.
८जैसे युवती अपने पति के लिये कमर में टाट बाँधे हुए विलाप करती है, वैसे ही तुम भी विलाप करो।
9 The grain offering and the drink offering have been cut off from Yahweh's house. The priests, Yahweh's servants, mourn.
९यहोवा के भवन में न तो अन्नबलि और न अर्घ आता है। उसके टहलुए जो याजक हैं, वे विलाप कर रहे हैं।
10 The fields are ruined, the ground is mourning because the grain has been destroyed. The new wine has dried up, the oil fails.
१०खेती मारी गई, भूमि विलाप करती है; क्योंकि अन्न नाश हो गया, नया दाखमधु सूख गया, तेल भी सूख गया है।
11 Be ashamed, you farmers, and wail, you vine growers, for the wheat and the barley. For the harvest of the fields has perished.
११हे किसानों, लज्जित हो, हे दाख की बारी के मालियों, गेहूँ और जौ के लिये हाय, हाय करो; क्योंकि खेती मारी गई है
12 The vines have withered and the fig trees have dried up, the pomegranate trees, also the palm trees, and the apple trees— all the trees of the field have withered. For joy has withered away from the descendants of mankind.
१२दाखलता सूख गई, और अंजीर का वृक्ष कुम्हला गया है अनार, खजूर, सेब, वरन्, मैदान के सब वृक्ष सूख गए हैं; और मनुष्य का हर्ष जाता रहा है।
13 Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests! Wail, you servants of the altar. Come, lie all night in sackcloth, you servants of my God. For the grain offering and the drink offering have been withheld from the house of your God.
१३हे याजकों, कमर में टाट बाँधकर छाती पीट-पीट के रोओ! हे वेदी के टहलुओ, हाय, हाय, करो। हे मेरे परमेश्वर के टहलुओ, आओ, टाट ओढ़े हुए रात बिताओ! क्योंकि तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के भवन में अन्नबलि और अर्घ अब नहीं आते।
14 Call for a holy fast, and call a holy assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of Yahweh your God, and cry to Yahweh.
१४उपवास का दिन ठहराओ, महासभा का प्रचार करो। पुरनियों को, वरन् देश के सब रहनेवालों को भी अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के भवन में इकट्ठा करके उसकी दुहाई दो।
15 Alas for the day! For the day of Yahweh is almost here. With it will come destruction from the Almighty.
१५उस दिन के कारण हाय! क्योंकि यहोवा का दिन निकट है। वह सर्वशक्तिमान की ओर से सत्यानाश का दिन होकर आएगा।
16 Has not food been cut off from before our eyes, and joy and gladness from the house of our God?
१६क्या भोजनवस्तुएँ हमारे देखते नाश नहीं हुईं? क्या हमारे परमेश्वर के भवन का आनन्द और मगन जाता नहीं रहा?
17 The seeds rot under their clods, the granaries are desolate, and the barns have been broken down, for the grain has withered.
१७बीज ढेलों के नीचे झुलस गए, भण्डार सूने पड़े हैं; खत्ते गिर पड़े हैं, क्योंकि खेती मारी गई।
18 How the animals groan! The herds of cattle are suffering because they have no pasture. Also, the flocks of sheep suffer.
१८पशु कैसे कराहते हैं? झुण्ड के झुण्ड गाय-बैल विकल हैं, क्योंकि उनके लिये चराई नहीं रही; और झुण्ड के झुण्ड भेड़-बकरियाँ पाप का फल भोग रही हैं।
19 Yahweh, I cry to you. For fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and flames have burned all the trees of the fields.
१९हे यहोवा, मैं तेरी दुहाई देता हूँ, क्योंकि जंगल की चराइयाँ आग का कौर हो गईं, और मैदान के सब वृक्ष ज्वाला से जल गए।
20 Even the animals of the fields pant for you, for the water brooks have dried up, and fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
२०वन-पशु भी तेरे लिये हाँफते हैं, क्योंकि जल के सोते सूख गए, और जंगल की चराइयाँ आग का कौर हो गईं।
