Job 37
1 Indeed, my heart trembles at this; it is moved out of its place.
| دل من می‌لرزد؛ |
2 Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out from his mouth.
| گوش دهید و غرش صدای خدا را بشنوید. |
3 He sends it out under the whole sky, and he sends out his lightning to the edges of the earth.
| او برق خود را به سراسر آسمان می‌فرستد. |
4 A voice roars after it; he thunders with the voice of his majesty; he does not restrain the lightning bolts when his voice is heard.
| سپس غرش صدای او شنیده می‌شود، غرش مهیب رعد به گوش می‌رسد و باز برق، آسمان را روشن می‌کند. |
5 God thunders marvelously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.
| صدای او در رعد باشکوه است. ما نمی‌توانیم عظمت قدرت او را درک کنیم. |
6 For he says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'; likewise to the rain shower, 'Become a great shower of rain.'
| وقتی او برف و باران شدید بر زمین می‌فرستد، |
7 He stops the hand of every man from working, so that all people whom he has made may see his deeds.
| مردم از کار کردن باز می‌مانند و متوجه قدرت او می‌شوند، |
8 Then the beasts go into hiding and stay in their dens.
| حیوانات وحشی به پناهگاه خود می‌شتابند و در لانه‌های خویش پنهان می‌مانند. |
9 The storm comes from its chamber in the south and the cold from the scattering winds in the north.
| از جنوب طوفان می‌آید و از شمال سرما. |
10 By the breath of God ice is given; the expanse of the waters is frozen like metal.
| خدا بر آبها می‌دمد، به طوری که حتی وسیعترین دریاها نیز یخ می‌بندد. |
11 Indeed, he weighs down the thick cloud with moisture; he scatters his lightning through the clouds.
| او ابرها را از رطوبت، سنگین می‌کند و برق خود را به‌وسیلۀ آنها پراکنده می‌سازد. |
12 He swirls the clouds around by his guidance, so that they may do whatever he commands them above the surface of the whole world.
| آنها به دستور او به حرکت در می‌آیند و احکام او را در سراسر زمین به جا می‌آورند. |
13 He makes all of this happen; sometimes it happens for correction, sometimes for his land, and sometimes as acts of covenant faithfulness.
| او ابرها را برای مجازات مردم و یا برای سیراب کردن زمین و نشان دادن رحمتش به ایشان، می‌فرستد. |
14 Listen to this, Job; stop and think about God's marvelous deeds.
| ای ایوب، گوش بده و دربارهٔ اعمال شگفت‌آور خدا تأمل و تفکر کن. |
15 Do you know how God establishes the clouds and makes the lightning bolts to flash in them?
| آیا تو می‌دانی که خدا چگونه تمام طبیعت را اداره نموده، برق را از ابرها ساطع می‌کند؟ |
16 Do you understand the floating of the clouds, the marvelous deeds of God, who is perfect in knowledge?
| آیا تو می‌دانی چگونه ابرها در هوا معلق می‌مانند؟ آیا تو عظمت این کار خدا را می‌توانی درک کنی؟ |
17 Do you understand how your garments become hot when the land is still because the wind comes from the south?
| آیا وقتی زمین زیر وزش باد گرم جنوب قرار دارد و لباسهایت از گرما به تنت چسبیده است، |
18 Can you spread out the sky as he can— the sky, which is as strong as a mirror of cast metal?
| تو می‌توانی به خدا کمک کنی تا وضع آسمان را که مانند فلز سخت است تغییر دهد؟ |
19 Teach us what we should say to him, for we cannot lay out our arguments in order because of the darkness of our minds.
| آیا تو می‌توانی به ما بگویی چگونه باید با خدا مواجه شد؟ ما با این فکر تاریکمان نمی‌دانیم چگونه با او سخن گوییم. |
20 Should he be told that I wish to speak with him? Would a person wish to be swallowed up?
| من با چه جرأتی با خدا صحبت کنم؟ چرا خود را به کشتن دهم؟ |
21 Now, people cannot look at the sun when it is bright in the sky after the wind has passed through and has cleared it of its clouds.
| همان‌طور که در یک روز آفتابی بی‌ابر، نمی‌توانیم به تابش خورشید نگاه کنیم، |
22 Out of the north comes golden splendor— over God is fearsome majesty.
| همچنان نیز نمی‌توانیم به جلال پرشکوه خدا که از آسمان با درخشندگی خیره‌کننده‌ای بر ما نمایان می‌شود خیره شویم. |
23 As for the Almighty, we cannot find him! He is great in power; he does not oppress justice and abundant righteousness.
| ما نمی‌توانیم به قدرت خدای قادر مطلق پی ببریم. او نسبت به ما عادل و رحیم است و بر کسی ظلم نمی‌کند، |
24 Therefore, people fear him. He does not pay any attention to those who are wise in their own minds.”
| و تحت تأثیر داناترین مردم جهان نیز قرار نمی‌گیرد، از این جهت ترس و احترام او در دل همهٔ مردم جا دارد. |
