Job 34
1 Moreover, Elihu continued to speak:
૧અલીહૂએ બોલવાનું ચાલુ રાખતાં કહ્યું કે:
2 “Listen to my words, you wise men; hear me, you who have knowledge.
૨“હે શાણા માણસો, તમે મારા શબ્દો સાંભળો; અને હે જ્ઞાનીઓ, તમે મારી વાતો પર ધ્યાન આપો.”
3 For the ear tries words as the palate tastes food.
૩જેમ જીભ અન્નના સ્વાદને પારખી શકે છે તેમ કાન પણ શબ્દોને પારખી શકે છે.
4 Let us choose for ourselves what is just: let us discover among ourselves what is good.
૪આપણે પોતાને માટે શું સારું છે તે પસંદ કરીએ આપણે પોતાનામાં સારું શું છે તેની શોધ કરીએ.
5 For Job has said, 'I am righteous, but God has taken away my rights.
૫કારણ કે અયૂબે કહ્યું છે કે, ‘હું ન્યાયી છું, અને ઈશ્વરે મારો હક લઈ લીધો છે.
6 Regardless of my rights, I am considered to be a liar. My wound is incurable, although I am without sin.'
૬હું ન્યાયી છું છતાં હું જૂઠાબોલા તરીકે ગણાઉં છું. મારા જખમ જીવલેણ છે; છતાં પણ હું પાપ વિનાનો છું.’
7 What man is like Job, who drinks up mockery like water,
૭અયૂબના જેવો માણસ કોણ છે, કે જે ધિક્કારને પાણીની જેમ સરળતાથી પીએ છે,
8 who goes around in the company of those who do evil, and who walks with wicked men?
૮તે દુષ્ટતા કરનારા લોકોની સંગતમાં રહે છે, અને તે દુષ્ટ લોકોની સાથે ફરે છે.
9 For he has said, 'It is no use to a person to take pleasure in doing what God wants.'
૯તેણે કહ્યું છે કે, ‘ઈશ્વર જે ઇચ્છે છે તે કરવામાં માણસને કોઈ ફાયદો નથી.’”
10 So listen to me, you men of understanding: far be it from God that he should do wickedness; far be it from the Almighty that he should commit sin.
૧૦તેથી હે શાણા માણસો, મારું સાંભળો: ઈશ્વર કદાપિ કંઈ ખોટું કરે જ નહિ; અને સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વર કદાપિ કંઈ અનિષ્ટ કરે જ નહિ.
11 For he pays back a person's work; he makes every man come upon the reward of his own ways.
૧૧કારણ કે તે વ્યક્તિને તેના કામ પ્રમાણે બદલો આપે છે; તેઓ દરેક માણસને તેનો બદલો આપશે.
12 Indeed, God does nothing wicked, nor does the Almighty ever pervert justice.
૧૨ખરેખર, ઈશ્વર દુષ્ટતા કરશે જ નહિ, અથવા સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વર કદાપિ અન્યાય કરે નહિ.
13 Who put him in charge over the earth? Who put the whole world under him?
૧૩કોણે તેમને પૃથ્વીની જવાબદારી આપી છે? કોણે તેમને દરેક વસ્તુઓ પર સત્તા આપી છે?
14 If he ever set his intentions only on himself, and if he ever gathered back to himself his spirit and his breath,
૧૪જો તે માત્ર પોતાના જ ઇરાદા પાર પાડે જો ઈશ્વર પોતાનો આત્મા અને શ્વાસ પૃથ્વી પરથી લઈ લે,
15 then all flesh would perish together; mankind would return to dust again.
૧૫તો સર્વ માણસો નાશ પામે; અને માણસ જાત ફરી પાછી ધૂળ ભેગી થઈ જાય.
16 If now you have understanding, listen to this; listen to the sound of my words.
૧૬જો તમારામાં સમજશક્તિ હોય તો, મને સાંભળો; મારા શબ્દો ધ્યાનમાં રાખો.
17 Can one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn God, who is righteous and mighty?
૧૭જે ન્યાયને ધિક્કારે, તે શું કદી રાજ કરી શકે? ઈશ્વર જે ન્યાયી અને પરાક્રમી છે, તેમને શું તું દોષિત ઠરાવીશ?
18 God, who says to a king, 'You are vile,' or says to nobles, 'You are wicked'?
૧૮ઈશ્વર કદી રાજાને કહે છે કે, ‘તું નકામો છે,’ અથવા રાજકુમારોને કહે છે કે, ‘તમે દુષ્ટ છો?’
19 God, who does not show favoritism to leaders and does not acknowledge rich people more than poor, for they all are the work of his hands.
૧૯ઈશ્વર અધિકારીઓ પર પક્ષપાત કરતા નથી અને ધનવાનોને ગરીબ લોકો કરતાં વધારે ગણતા નથી, કારણ કે તેઓ સર્વ તેમના હાથે સર્જાયેલા છે.
20 In a moment they will die; at midnight people will be shaken and will pass away; mighty people will be taken away, but not by human hands.
૨૦એક ક્ષણમાં તેઓ મૃત્યુ પામશે; મધરાતે લોકો ધ્રૂજશે અને નાશ પામશે; મહાન લોકો અદ્રશ્ય થઈ જાય છે, પણ માણસોના હાથથી નહિ.
21 For God's eyes are upon a person's ways; he sees all his steps.
૨૧કારણ કે, ઈશ્વરની નજર માણસની ચાલચલગત પર હોય છે; તે તેની સઘળી વર્તણૂક જુએ છે.
22 There is no darkness, no thick gloom where the doers of iniquity may hide themselves.
૨૨દુષ્ટ માણસને સંતાડી શકે એવો કોઈ પડદો કે અંધકાર નથી.
23 For God does not need to examine a person further; there is no need for any person to go before him in judgment.
૨૩કેમ કે ઈશ્વરને લોકોની પરીક્ષા કરવાની જરૂર નથી; કોઈ માણસને તેમના ન્યાયાસન સમક્ષ જવાની જરૂર નથી.
24 He breaks mighty men into pieces for their ways that need no further investigation; he puts others in their places.
૨૪ઈશ્વર શક્તિશાળી લોકોને પણ ભાંગે છે કેમ કે તેઓના માર્ગો એવા છે કે તેને માટે વધારાની તપાસ કરવાની જરૂર નથી; તેઓ તેમને સ્થાને અન્યને નિયુકત કરે છે.
25 In this way he has knowledge of their deeds; he overthrows these people in the night; they are destroyed.
૨૫આ પ્રમાણે તેઓનાં કામોને પારખે છે; તેઓ રાતોરાત એવા પાયમાલ થાય છે કે તેઓ નાશ પામે છે.
26 In the open sight of others, he kills them for their wicked deeds like criminals
૨૬દુષ્ટ લોકો તરીકે તેઓને તેઓનાં દુષ્ટકૃત્યોને લીધે ખુલ્લી રીતે સજા કરે છે
27 because they turned away from following him and refused to acknowledge any of his ways.
૨૭કેમ કે તેઓ તેમને અનુસરવાને બદલે પાછા હઠી ગયા છે અને તેમના માર્ગને અનુસરવાનો ઇનકાર કરે છે.
28 In this way, they made the cry of poor people come to him; he heard the cry of afflicted people.
૨૮આ પ્રમાણે તેઓએ ગરીબોનો પોકાર ઈશ્વર સુધી પહોંચાડ્યો છે; તેમણે દુ: ખીઓનું રુદન સાંભળ્યું છે.
29 When he stays silent, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, who can perceive him? He rules over nation and individual alike,
૨૯જયારે તે શાંત રહે છે ત્યારે કોણ તેમને દોષિત ઠરાવી શકે છે? પણ જો તે પોતાનું મુખ સંતાડે તો કોણ તેમને જોઈ શકે? તે પ્રજા અને રાષ્ટ્ર પર સમાન રીતે રાજ કરે છે,
30 so that a godless man may not rule, so that there may be no one to entrap people.
૩૦કે જેથી અધર્મી માણસ સત્તા ચલાવે નહિ, એટલે લોકોને જાળમાં ફસાવનાર કોઈ હોય નહિ.
31 Suppose someone says to God, 'I am certainly guilty, but I will not sin any longer;
૩૧શું કોઈએ ઈશ્વરને એમ કહ્યું છે કે, ‘હું નિશ્ચે ગુનેગાર છું, પણ હવેથી હું પાપ કરીશ નહિ;
32 teach me what I cannot see; I have committed sin, but I will do it no longer.'
૩૨હું જે સમજતો નથી તેનું મને શિક્ષણ આપ; મેં પાપ કર્યું છે પણ હવેથી હું પાપ કરીશ નહિ.’
33 Do you think that God will punish that person's sin, since you dislike what God does? You must choose, not I. So say what it is that you know.
૩૩તું ઈશ્વરનો ઇનકાર કરે છે એટલે શું તને લાગે છે કે ઈશ્વર તે માણસનાં પાપને બદલે તેને સજા કરશે? એ નિર્ણય તારે લેવાનો છે, મારે નહિ. માટે જે કંઈ તું જાણે છે તે કહે.
34 Men of understanding will say to me— indeed, every wise man who hears me will say,
૩૪ડાહ્યો માણસ મને કહેશે, ખરેખર, દરેક જ્ઞાની માણસ મને સાંભળે છે તે કહેશે,
35 'Job speaks without knowledge; his words are without wisdom.'
૩૫‘અયૂબ જ્ઞાન વગર બોલે છે; તેના શબ્દો ડહાપણ વિનાના છે.’
36 If only Job were put on trial in the smallest details of his case because of his talking like wicked men.
૩૬દુષ્ટ માણસ જેવો જવાબ આપવાને લીધે અયૂબની અંત સુધી કસોટી કરવામાં આવે તો કેવું સારું!
37 For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands in mockery in our midst; he piles up words against God.”
૩૭“કેમ કે તે પોતાનાં પાપોમાં બળવાખોરીનો ઉમેરો કરે છે; તે આપણી મધ્યે અપમાન કરીને તાળીઓ પાડે છે; તે ઈશ્વરની વિરુદ્ધ લાંબી વાતો કરે છે.”
