Job 2
1 Then it was the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Yahweh. Satan also came with them to present himself before Yahweh.
౧మరో రోజు దేవదూతలు యెహోవా సముఖంలో ఉండేందుకు సమకూడారు. సాతాను కూడా వాళ్ళతో యెహోవా ఎదుట నిలబడేందుకు వచ్చాడు.
2 Yahweh said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Then Satan answered Yahweh and said, “From wandering on the earth, from going back and forth on it.”
౨యెహోవా “నువ్వు ఎక్కడ నుండి వచ్చావు?” అని అపవాదిని అడిగాడు. అందుకు అతడు “భూమి మీద సంచారం చేసి అటూ ఇటూ తిరుగుతూ వచ్చాను” అని యెహోవాకు జవాబిచ్చాడు.
3 Yahweh said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil. He still holds fast to his integrity, although you misled me against him, to destroy him without cause.”
౩అందుకు యెహోవా “నా సేవకుడైన యోబు గురించి నీకు తెలుసా? అతడు యథార్థమైన ప్రవర్తన గలవాడు, నీతిపరుడు. దేవుని పట్ల భయభక్తులు కలిగి చెడుతనాన్ని అసహ్యించుకునేవాడు. అతనిలాంటి వ్యక్తి భూమిపై ఎవ్వరూ లేడు. కారణం లేకుండాా అతణ్ణి నాశనం చెయ్యాలని నువ్వు నన్ను పురికొల్పడానికి ప్రయత్నించినప్పటికీ అతడు ఇప్పటికీ తన నిజాయితీని విడిచిపెట్టకుండా స్ధిరంగా నిలబడ్డాడు” అని అన్నాడు.
4 Satan answered Yahweh and said, “Skin for skin, indeed; a man will give all he has for his life.
౪అప్పుడు సాతాను “మనిషి తన చర్మం కాపాడుకోవడానికి చర్మం ఇస్తాడు. తన ప్రాణం కాపాడుకోవడానికి తనకున్నదంతా ఇస్తాడు గదా.
5 But stretch out your hand now and touch his bones and his flesh, and see if he does not curse you to your face.”
౫మరొక్కసారి నువ్వు నీ చెయ్యి చాపి అతని ఎముకల మీదా, దేహం మీదా దెబ్బ కొడితే అతడు నీ ముఖం మీదే నిన్ను దూషించి నిన్ను విడిచిపెడతాడు” అన్నాడు.
6 Yahweh said to Satan, “See, he is in your hand; it is only his life that you must spare.”
౬అప్పుడు యెహోవా “అతణ్ణి నీకు స్వాధీనం చేస్తున్నాను. అతని ప్రాణం జోలికి మాత్రం నువ్వు వెళ్ళవద్దు” అని చెప్పాడు.
7 Then Satan went away from the presence of Yahweh. He struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his feet to his head.
౭సాతాను యెహోవా సముఖం నుండి బయలుదేరి వెళ్లి, యోబు అరికాలు నుండి నడినెత్తి వరకూ బాధ కలిగించే కురుపులు పుట్టించాడు.
8 Job took a piece of broken pottery to scrape himself with, and he sat down in the middle of ashes.
౮అతడు తన ఒళ్లు గోక్కోవడానికి ఒక చిల్లపెంకు తీసుకుని బూడిదలో కూర్చున్నాడు.
9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die.”
౯అతని భార్య వచ్చి అతనితో “నువ్వు ఇంకా నీ నిజాయితీని వదిలిపెట్టవా? దేవుణ్ణి బాగా తిట్టి చచ్చిపో” అంది.
10 But he said to her, “You talk as a foolish woman talks. Should we receive the good from God and not receive the bad?” In all this matter, Job did not sin with his lips.
౧౦అప్పుడు యోబు “నువ్వు తెలివి తక్కువగా మాట్లాడుతున్నావు. మనం దేవుడిచ్చే మేళ్ళు మాత్రమే అనుభవిస్తామా? కీడు కూడా అనుభవించాలి గదా” అన్నాడు. జరుగుతున్న ఈ విషయాలన్నిటిలో ఏ సందర్భంలోనూ యోబు తన నోటిమాటతో ఎలాంటి పాపమూ చేయలేదు.
11 Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that had come on him, each of them came from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. They set a time to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
౧౧తేమానీయుడు ఎలీఫజు, షూహీయుడు బిల్దదు, నయమాతీయుడు జోఫరు అనే యోబు ముగ్గురు స్నేహితులు అతనికి సంభవించిన ఆపదలన్నిటిని గూర్చి విన్నారు. అతనితో కలిసి దుఃఖించడానికి, అతణ్ణి ఓదార్చడానికి వెళ్లాలని నిర్ణయించుకుని తమ ప్రాంతాలు విడిచి యోబు దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు.
12 When they lifted up their eyes at a distance, they did not recognize him. They raised their voices and wept; each tore his robe and threw dust into the air and upon his own head.
౧౨వారు వచ్చి కొంత దూరంగా నిలబడి అతణ్ణి చూశారు. యోబును పోల్చుకోలేక తమ బట్టలు చింపుకున్నారు. ఆకాశం వైపు తల మీదికి దుమ్ము చల్లుకుని బిగ్గరగా ఏడ్చారు.
13 Then they sat with him on the ground for seven days and seven nights. No one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.
౧౩అతడు అనుభవిస్తున్న తీవ్రమైన బాధను గ్రహించి ఎవ్వరూ ఒక్క మాట కూడా మాట్లాడకుండా ఏడు రోజులపాటు రాత్రీ పగలూ అతనితో కలిసి నేలపై కూర్చున్నారు.
