< Jeremiah 8 >

1 “At that time—this is Yahweh's declaration—they will bring out from the graves the bones of the kings of Judah and its officials, the bones of the priests and the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
“Yehowa be, ‘Le ɣe ma ɣi la, Yuda fiawo kple woƒe dumegãwo ƒe ƒuwo, nunɔlawo kple nyagblɔɖilawo ƒe ƒuwo kple Yerusalem nɔlawo ƒe ƒuwo la, woaɖe wo le woƒe yɔdowo me.
2 Then they will spread them out in the light of the sun and moon and all the stars of the skies; these things in the sky that they have followed and served, that they have walked after and sought, and that they have worshiped. The bones will not be gathered or buried again. They will be like dung on the surface of the earth.
Woasia wo, eye ɣe aɖu wo, ɣleti kple dziƒoŋunuwo aklẽ ɖe wo dzi, nu siwo wotsɔ lɔlɔ̃ na hesubɔ nu siwo yome wodze hebia nu le wo gbɔ eye wode ta agu na wo. Womafɔ wo alo aɖi wo o, ke boŋ woanɔ abe gbeɖuɖɔ ene anɔ anyigba.
3 In every remaining place where I have driven them, they will choose death instead of life for themselves, all who are still left over from this evil nation—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts.
Afi sia afi si manya wo aɖo ɖo la, dukɔ vɔ̃ɖi sia ƒe ame mamlɛawo adi ku wu agbe.’” Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ lae gblɔe.
4 So say to them, 'Yahweh says this: Does anyone fall and not get up? Does anyone get lost and not try to return?
Gblɔ na wo be, “Ale Yehowa gblɔe nye esi: “‘Ne amewo dze anyi la, ɖe womegafɔna oa? Ne wotra mɔ la, ɖe womegatrɔna gbɔna oa?
5 Why has this people, Jerusalem, turned away in permanent faithlessness? They hold on to treachery and refuse to repent.
Ekema nu ka ta ame siawo trɔ dzo ɖo? Nu ka ta Yerusalem le megbe dem ɣe sia ɣi? Woku ɖe beble ŋuti eye wogbe be yewomatrɔ o.
6 I paid attention and listened, but they did not speak right; no one was sorry for his wickedness, no one who says, “What have I done?” All of them go where they wish, like a stallion rushing toward battle.
Meɖo to nyuie, gake womele nu si le eteƒe la gblɔm o. Ame ɖeka pɛ hã meli si eƒe vɔ̃ɖivɔ̃ɖi venɛ, eye wògblɔna be, “Nu kae nye esi mehewɔ o?” Ame sia ame lé eƒe mɔ tsɔ abe sɔe lũ ɖe aʋa me ene.
7 Even the stork in heaven knows the right times; and the doves, swifts, and cranes. They go on their migrations at the right time, but my people do not know Yahweh's decrees.
Akpaviã le yame ke hã nya eƒe azãgbewo, akpakpa, sagbadre kple tsalĩ, nya ɣeyiɣi si wòle be woaʋu adzo. Gake nye dukɔ ya menya Yehowa ƒe ɖoɖowo o.
8 How can you say, “We are wise, for the law of Yahweh is with us”? Indeed, see! The deceitful pen of the scribes has created deceit.
“‘Aleke wɔ miate ŋu agblɔ be, “Míenye nunyalawo, elabena Yehowa ƒe se la le mía si,” evɔ le nyateƒe me, agbalẽfialawo ƒe nuŋlɔti trɔe wòzu aʋatso’ o?
9 The wise men will be ashamed. They are dismayed and trapped. Behold! They reject Yahweh's word, so what use is their wisdom?
Ŋu akpe nunyalawo, woƒe mo atsi dãa, eye mɔ aɖe wo. Esi wogbe Yehowa ƒe nya la, nunya ka ƒomevie le wo si?
10 So I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who will possess them, because from the least to the greatest, all of them are greedy for dishonest gain! From the prophet to the priest, all of them practice deceit.
Eya ta maxɔ wo srɔ̃wo atsɔ na ŋutsu bubuwo eye maxɔ woƒe agblewo atsɔ na amedzrowo. Tso ɖeviawo dzi va se ɖe tsitsiawo dzi, wo katã le ŋu biãm ɖe viɖe ŋu. Nyagblɔɖilawo kple Nunɔlawo siaa nye ameblelawo.
11 They healed the wounds of my people lightly, saying, “Peace, Peace,” when there was no peace.
Wobla abi na nye dukɔ abe ɖe menye abi gã aɖeke wònye o ene. Wole gbɔgblɔm be, ‘Ŋutifafa, ŋutifafa’, evɔ wòhenye ŋutifafa aɖeke meli o hafi.
12 Were they ashamed when they practiced abominations? They were not ashamed; they did not know how to blush! So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when they are punished, says Yahweh.
Ɖe woƒe ŋunyɔnu siwo wɔm wole la le ŋu kpem na woa? Ao, ŋukpe ɖeka pɛ hã mele mo na wo o eye womenya ale si woƒe mo natsi dãae gɔ̃ hã o. Eya ta woatsi aʋatsilawo dome. Ne mele to hem na wo la, woaƒo wo aƒu anyi.” Yehowae gblɔe.
13 I will remove them completely—this is Yahweh's declaration—there will be no grapes on the vine, nor will there be figs on the fig trees. For the leaf will wither, and what I have given to them will pass away.
14 Why are we sitting here? Come together; let us go to the fortified cities, and we will become silent there in death. For Yahweh our God will silence us. He will make us drink poison, since we have sinned against him.
“Nu ka ta mienɔ anyi ɖe afi sia ɖo? Miƒo ƒu! Mina míasi ayi ɖe du sesẽwo me ne míatsrɔ̃ ɖe afi ma! Elabena Yehowa, míaƒe Mawu la ɖoe ɖi be miatsrɔ̃ eye wotsɔ aɖitsi na mí be miano elabena míewɔ nu vɔ̃.
15 We are hoping for peace, but there will be nothing good. We are hoping for a time of healing, but see, there will be terror.
Míekpɔ mɔ na ŋutifafa gake nu nyui aɖeke meva o. Míekpɔ mɔ na dɔyɔyɔ gake ŋɔdzi koe li.
16 The snorting of his stallions is heard from Dan. The whole earth shakes at the sound of the neighing of his strong horses. For they will come and consume the land and its wealth, the city and the ones living in it.
17 For see, I am sending out snakes among you, vipers that you cannot charm. They will bite you—this is Yahweh's declaration.'”
“Kpɔ ɖa, madɔ da vɔ̃ɖiwo ɖe mia dome. Da siwo miate ŋu asa gbe ade o eye woaɖu mi.” Yehowae gblɔe.
18 My sorrow has no end, and my heart is sick.
Oo, nye Akɔfala le xaxa me. Nu te nye dzi ŋu le menye.
19 Behold! The screaming voice of the daughter of my people from a land far away! Is Yahweh not in Zion? Is her king no longer there? Why then do they provoke me to anger with their carved figures and their worthless foreign idols?
Ɖo to nye dukɔ ƒe avifafa tso anyigba didi aɖe dzi, “Ɖe Yehowa mele Zion oa? Ɖe Fia la megale afi ma oa?” “Nu ka ta wotsɔ woƒe aklamakpakpɛwo kple dutalegba maɖinuwo do dziku nam ɖo?”
20 The harvest has passed on, summer is over. But we have not been saved.
“Nuŋeɣi va yi, eye dzomeŋɔli hã va yi, gake womeɖe mi o.”
21 I am hurt because of the hurt of the daughter of my people. I mourn at the horrible things that have happened to her; I am dismayed.
Esi wogbã nye dukɔ ta la, nye hã megbã, mexa nu eye dzidzi ƒom.
22 Is there no medicine in Gilead? Is there no healer there? Why will the healing of the daughter of my people not happen?
Ɖe dɔyɔmi mele Gilead oa? Gbedala aɖeke mele afi ma oa? Ke nu ka ta nye dukɔ ƒe abi mele kukum o?
