< Isaiah 63 >

1 Who is this who comes from Edom, clothed in red from Bozrah? Who is he in royal clothing, marching confidently because of his great strength? It is I, speaking righteousness and powerfully able to save.
Ngubani lo ovela eEdoma, olezembatho ezibomvu evela eBhozira? Lo odumisekileyo ngezembatho zakhe, ehamba ngobukhulu bamandla akhe? Yimi engikhuluma ngokulunga, engilamandla okusindisa.
2 Why are your clothes red, and why do they look like you have been treading grapes in a winepress?
Kungani izigqoko zakho zibomvu, lezembatho zakho zinjengezonyathela esikhamelweni sewayini?
3 I have trodden grapes in the winepress alone, and no one from the nations joined me. I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my fury. Their blood is spattered on my clothes and stained all my clothes.
Ngisinyathele ngedwa isikhamelo sewayini, lebantwini kwakungekho loyedwa lami; ngoba ngizabanyathela ekuthukutheleni kwami, ngibahlifize elakeni lwami; legazi labo lizafafazwa ezembathweni zami, ngingcolise izigqoko zami zonke.
4 For I looked forward to the day of vengeance, and the year for my redemption had arrived.
Ngoba usuku lwempindiselo lusenhliziyweni yami, lomnyaka wabahlengwa bami usufikile.
5 I looked, and there was no one to help. I wondered that there was none to help, but my own arm brought victory for me, and my strong anger drove me on.
Njalo ngakhangela, kodwa kwakungekho osizayo, ngamangala kakhulu ukuthi kwakungekho osekelayo; ngakho ingalo yami yaletha usindiso kimi, lolaka lwami lona lwangisekela.
6 I trampled down the peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their blood on the earth.
Besenginyathela abantu ekuthukutheleni kwami, ngibadakise olakeni lwami, ngehlisele emhlabathini amandla abo.
7 I will tell of the acts of Yahweh's covenant faithfulness, the praiseworthy deeds of Yahweh. I will tell of all that Yahweh has done for us, and of his great goodness to the house of Israel. This compassion he has shown us because of his mercy, and with many deeds of covenant faithfulness.
Ngizakhumbuza ngothandolomusa omkhulu weNkosi, izindumiso zeNkosi, njengakho konke iNkosi esinike khona, lobuhle obukhulu ngasendlini kaIsrayeli, ebanike bona ngokwezisa zayo, lanjengobunengi bothandolomusa wayo omkhulu.
8 For he said, “For certain they are my people, children who are not disloyal.” He became their Savior.
Ngoba yathi: Isibili bangabantu bami, abantwana abangayikukhuluma amanga; ngakho yaba nguMsindisi wabo.
9 Through all their suffering, he suffered too, and the angel from his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he saved them, and he lifted them up and carried them through all the ancient times.
Enhluphekweni yabo yonke yahlupheka, lengilosi yobukhona bayo yabasindisa; ngothando lwayo langesihawu sayo yona yabahlenga, yabaphakamisa, yabathwala zonke izinsuku zendulo.
10 But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he became their enemy and fought against them.
Kodwa bona baba lenkani, badabukisa uMoya wayo oNgcwele; ngakho yaphenduka yaba yisitha sabo, yona yalwa imelene labo.
11 His people thought about the ancient times of Moses. They said, “Where is God, who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is God, who put his Holy Spirit among them?
Yasikhumbula insuku zendulo, uMozisi, labantu bakhe, isithi: Ungaphi lowo owabakhuphula olwandle labelusi bomhlambi wakhe? Ungaphi lowo owafaka uMoya wakhe oyiNgcwele phakathi kwakhe?
12 Where is God, who made his glorious power go with the right hand of Moses, and divided the water before them, to make an everlasting name for himself?
Owakhokhela ingalo yakhe elodumo esandleni sokunene sikaMozisi, esehlukanisa amanzi phambi kwabo, ukuzenzela ibizo eliphakade?
13 Where is God, who led them through the deep water? Like a horse running on flat land, they did not stumble.
Owabakhokhela ezinzikini, njengebhiza enkangala kabakhubekanga?
14 As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Yahweh gave them rest. So you led your people, to make yourself a name of praise.
Njengenkomo isehlela esigodini, uMoya weNkosi wabaphumuza. Ngokunjalo wabakhokhela abantu bakho, ukuze uzenzele ibizo elilodumo.
15 Look down from heaven and take notice from your holy and glorious habitation. Where are your zeal and your mighty acts? Your pity and your compassionate actions are kept from us.
Khangela phansi usemazulwini, ubone usendaweni yakho yokuhlala yobungcwele bakho leyodumo lwakho. Kungaphi ukutshiseka kwakho lamandla akho? Ubunengi bemibilini yakho, lezihawu zakho kimi, kuyazibamba yini?
16 For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not recognize us, you, Yahweh, are our father. 'Our Redeemer' has been your name from ancient times.
Isibili wena ungubaba; lanxa uAbrahama engasazi, loIsrayeli engasivumi; wena Nkosi ungubaba wethu, umhlengi wethu; ibizo lakho lisukela ephakadeni.
17 Yahweh, why do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts, so we do not obey you? Return for your servants' sake, the tribes of your inheritance.
Nkosi, kungani usenza siduhe ezindleleni zakho, usenza inhliziyo yethu ibe lukhuni sisuka ekukwesabeni? Phenduka ngenxa yenceku zakho, izizwe zelifa lakho.
18 Your people possessed your holy place for a short time, but then our enemies trampled it.
Abantu bobungcwele bakho babe lakho okwesikhatshana; izitha zethu zinyathelele phansi indlu yakho engcwele.
19 We have become like those over whom you never ruled, like those who were never called by your name.”
Singabakho; kawuzange ubuse phezu kwabo; kababizwanga ngebizo lakho.
