Isaiah 48
1 Hear this, house of Jacob, who are called by the name Israel, and have come from the sperm of Judah; you who swear by the name of Yahweh and invoke the God of Israel, but not sincerely nor in a righteous manner.
Ouvi isto, casa de Jacó, que vos chamais pelo nome de Israel, e saístes das águas de Judá; que jurais pelo nome do SENHOR, e fazeis menção do Deus de Israel, [porém] não em verdade, nem em justiça.
2 For they call themselves people of the holy city and trust in the God of Israel. Yahweh of hosts is his name.
E até da santa cidade se chamam; e confiam no Deus de Israel; EU-SOU dos exércitos é o seu nome.
3 “I have declared the things from long ago; they came out from my mouth, and I made them known; then suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.
As coisas passadas desde antes anunciei, procederam da minha boca, e eu as declarei publicamente; rapidamente eu as fiz, e elas aconteceram.
4 Because I knew that you were obstinate, your neck muscles tight as iron, and your forehead like bronze,
Porque eu sabia que tu eras obstinado, e teu pescoço era um nervo de ferro, e tua testa de bronze.
5 therefore I declared these things to you beforehand; before they happened I informed you, so you could not say, 'My idol has done them,' or 'My carved figure and my cast metal figure has ordained these things.'
Por isso eu anunciei a ti com antecedência, [e] te declarei antes que acontecesse, para que não viesses a dizer: Meu ídolo fez estas coisas, ou minha imagem de escultura ou imagem de fundição, [foi ela que] isso ordenou.
6 You heard about these things; look at all this evidence; and you, will you not admit what I said is true? From now on, I am showing you new things, hidden things that you have not known.
Já tens escutado. Olha bem para tudo isto: por acaso vós não diríeis [que isto é verdade]? A partir de agora eu te faço ouvir coisas novas, ocultas, e que nunca [antes] soubeste.
7 Now, and not from previously, they come into being, and before today you have not heard about them, so you will not be able to say, 'Yes, I knew about them.'
Agora foram criadas, e não antes; e antes de hoje não as ouvistes; para que não viesses a dizer: Eis que eu já as sabia.
8 You never heard; you did not know; these things were not unfolded to your ears beforehand. For I knew that you have been very deceitful, and that you have been a rebel from birth.
Tu não [as] ouviste, nem [as] soubeste, nem também teu ouvido havia sido aberto antes; porque eu sabia que agirias enganosamente, e que foste chamado de transgressor desde o ventre.
9 For the sake of my name I will defer my anger, and for my honor I will hold back from destroying you.
Por causa do meu nome adiarei a minha ira, e por louvor a mim me conterei para contigo, para que eu não venha a te eliminar.
10 Look, I refined you, but not as silver; I have purified you in the furnace of affliction.
Eis que eu te purifiquei, porém não como a prata; eu te escolhi na fornalha da aflição.
11 For my own sake, for my own sake I will act; for how can I allow my name to be profaned? I will not give my glory to anyone else.
Por causa de mim, por causa de mim eu o farei; pois como permitiria [meu nome] ser profanado? E minha glória não darei a outro.
12 Listen to me, Jacob, and Israel, whom I called: I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
Ouvi-me, ó Jacó, e tu, ó Israel, por mim chamado; eu sou o mesmo; eu sou o primeiro, eu também sou o último.
13 Yes, my hand laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand up together.
Também minha mão fundou a terra, e minha mão direita estendeu os céus; quando eu os chamo, [logo] eles juntamente aparecem.
14 Assemble yourselves, all of you, and listen! Who among you has announced these things? Yahweh's ally will accomplish his purpose against Babylon. He will carry out Yahweh's will against the Chaldeans.
Ajuntai-vos, todos vós, e ouvi, quem [há] dentre eles, anunciou estas coisas? O SENHOR o amou, [e] executará sua vontade contra a Babilônia, e seu braço será [contra] os caldeus.
15 I, I have spoken, yes, I have summoned him, I have brought him, and he will succeed.
Eu, eu mesmo tenho dito; também eu já o chamei. Eu o farei vir, e ele prosperará [em] seu caminho.
16 Come near to me, listen to this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; when it happens, I am there.” Now the Lord Yahweh has sent me, and his Spirit.
Achegai-vos a mim, ouvi isto: não falei em oculto desde o princípio; [ao contrário], desde o tempo em que aquilo se fez, ali eu estava; e agora o Senhor DEUS me enviou, e seu Espírito.
17 This is what Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says, “I am Yahweh your God, who teaches you how to succeed, who leads you by the way that you should go.
Assim diz o SENHOR, teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel: Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te ensina o que é proveitoso, [e] te guia pelo caminho que deves andar.
18 If only you had obeyed my commandments! Then your peace and prosperity would have flowed like a river, and your salvation like the waves of the sea.
Ah, se tu tivesses me dado ouvidos a meus mandamentos! Então tua paz teria sido como um rio, e tua justiça como as ondas do mar.
19 Your descendants would have been as numerous as the sand, and the children from your womb as numerous as the grains of sand; their name would not have been cut off nor blotted out from before me.
Também tua semente teria sido como a areia, e os que procedem do teu corpo, como suas pedrinhas, cujo nome nunca seria cortado, nem destruído de minha face.
20 Come out from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With the sound of a ringing cry announce it! Make this known, make it go out to the ends of the earth! Say, 'Yahweh has redeemed his servant Jacob.'
Saí da Babilônia, fugi dos caldeus; declarai com voz de júbilo, anunciai, [e] levai isto até o fim da terra; dizei: O SENHOR resgatou a seu servo Jacó!
21 They did not thirst when he led them through the deserts; he made the water to flow out of the rock for them; he split open the rock, and the waters gushed out.
E não tinham sede, [quando] ele os levava pelos desertos; fez correr para eles água da rocha; e quando ele fendia as rochas, águas manavam delas.
22 There is no peace for the wicked—says Yahweh.”
[Porém] para os perversos não haverá paz, diz o SENHOR.
