Isaiah 46
1 Bel bows down, Nebo stoops; their idols are carried by animals and beasts of burden. These idols that you carry are a heavy burden for weary animals.
Bel ist niedergesunken; Nebo zusammengebrochen; ihre Bilder sind den Tieren und dem Vieh aufgelegt; eure Tragbilder sind ihnen zur schweren Last geworden und machen sie müde.
2 Together they bend low, kneel down; they cannot rescue the images, and they themselves have gone off into captivity.
Sie sind miteinander zusammengebrochen und niedergesunken und vermochten die Last nicht zu retten; sie selbst mußten in die Gefangenschaft gehen.
3 Listen to me, house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been carried by me from before your birth, carried from the womb.
Höret mir zu, o du Haus Jakobs, und ihr alle, die ihr von dem Hause Israels noch übrig seid; ihr, die ihr mütterlich von mir getragen und von Geburt an von mir gepflegt worden seid:
4 Even to your old age I am he, and until your hair is gray I will carry you. I made you and I will bear you; I will carry you and I will rescue you.
Bis zum Greisenalter bin ich derselbe, und bis zum Ergrauen will ich euch tragen. Ich habe es getan, und ich will auch fernerhin heben, tragen und erretten.
5 To whom will you compare me? Who do you think I resemble, so that we may be compared?
Wem wolltet ihr mich nachbilden und an die Seite stellen, wem mich vergleichen, daß wir uns glichen?
6 People pour out gold from the bag and weigh silver on the scale. They hire a metalsmith, and he makes it into a god; they bow down and worship it.
Die Gold aus dem Beutel schütteln und Silber mit der Waage darwägen, sie dingen einen Goldschmied, daß er ihnen daraus einen Gott mache, vor dem sie niederfallen, ja den sie anbeten;
7 They lift it on their shoulder and carry it; they set it in its place, and it stands in its place and does not move from it. They cry out to it, but it cannot answer nor save anyone from his trouble.
sie nehmen ihn auf die Achseln, tragen ihn und stellen ihn an seinen Ort; da steht er und bewegt sich nicht von der Stelle; schreit jemand zu ihm, so antwortet er nicht; er hilft ihm auch nicht aus seiner Not.
8 Think about these things; never ignore them, you rebels!
Bedenket das und ermannet euch und nehmet es euch zu Herzen, ihr Übertreter!
9 Think about the earlier things, those of times past, for I am God, and there is no other, I am God, and there is no one like me.
Gedenket der Anfänge von Ewigkeit her, daß Ich Gott bin und keiner sonst, ein Gott, dem keiner zu vergleichen ist.
10 I announce the end from the beginning, and beforehand what has not yet happened; I say, “My plan will happen, and I will do as I desire.”
Ich verkündige von Anfang an den Ausgang und von alters her, was noch nicht geschehen ist. Ich sage: Mein Ratschluß soll zustande kommen, und alles, was mir gefällt, will ich tun.
11 I call a bird of prey from the east, the man of my choice from a distant land; yes, I have spoken; I will also accomplish it; I have purposed, I will also do it.
Ich berufe vom Aufgang her einen Adler und aus fernen Ländern den Mann meines Ratschlusses. Ja, ich habe es gesagt, ich führe es auch herbei; ich habe es entworfen, und ich tue es auch.
12 Listen to me, you stubborn people, who are far from doing what is right.
Höret mir zu, die ihr ein stolzes Herz habt und fern von der Gerechtigkeit seid!
13 I am bringing my righteousness near; it is not far away, and my salvation does not wait; and I will give salvation to Zion and my beauty to Israel.
Ich habe meine Gerechtigkeit nahe gebracht; sie ist nicht fern, und mein Heil wird nicht säumen. Ich will in Zion Heil geben und für Israel meine Herrlichkeit.
