Isaiah 41
1 “Listen before me in silence, you coastlands; let the nations renew their strength; let them come near and speak; let us come near together to argue a dispute.
੧ਹੇ ਟਾਪੂਓ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣੋ, ਕੌਮਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਰਿਓਂ ਪਾਉਣ, ਉਹ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਈਏ।
2 Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service? He hands nations over to him and helps him subdue kings. He turns them to dust with his sword, like windblown stubble with his bow.
੨ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਕਸਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਦਮ ਫ਼ਤਹ ਚੁੰਮਦੀ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇ, ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਧੂੜ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਣੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਉਡਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਕੱਖ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
3 He pursues them and passes by safely, by a swift path that his feet scarcely touch.
੩ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
4 Who has performed and accomplished these deeds? Who has summoned the generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the first, and with the last ones, I am he.
੪ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ? ਮੈਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ! ਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਾਂ!
5 The isles have seen and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they approach and come.
੫ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਗਏ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਕੰਬਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
6 Everyone helps his neighbor, and every one says to one another, 'Be encouraged.'
੬ਹਰੇਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਰੱਖ!
7 So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith, and he who works with the hammer encourages him who works with an anvil, saying of the welding, 'It is good.' They fasten it with nails so it will not topple over.
੭ਤਰਖਾਣ ਸੁਨਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਥੌੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੱਧਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਹਰਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਟਾਂਕੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੱਕਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਈ ਉਹ ਹਿੱਲੇ ਨਾ।
8 But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham my friend,
੮ਪਰ ਤੂੰ, ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ, ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ,
9 you whom I am bringing back from the ends of the earth, and whom I called from the far away places, and to whom I said, 'You are my servant;' I have chosen you and not rejected you.
੯ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਆਂ ਖੂੰਜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ।
10 Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, and I will help you, and I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
੧੦ਨਾ ਡਰ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾ ਘਬਰਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਾਂਗਾ, ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ਤਿਹਮੰਦ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਾਲਾਂਗਾ।
11 See, they will be ashamed and disgraced, all who have been angry with you; they will be as nothing and will perish, those who oppose you.
੧੧ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹਨ, ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
12 You will seek and will not find those who contended with you; those who warred against you will be like nothing, absolutely nothing.
੧੨ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲੇਂਗਾ ਪਰ ਪਾਏਂਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜਿਹੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ!
13 For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Do not fear; I am helping you.'
੧੩ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾ ਡਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
14 Do not fear, Jacob you worm, and you men of Israel; I will help you—this is Yahweh's declaration, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
੧੪ਨਾ ਡਰ, ਹੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ, ਹੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਨਾ ਡਰ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈ।
15 Look, I am making you like a sharp threshing sledge, new and two-edged; you will thresh the mountains and crush them; you will make the hills like chaff.
੧੫ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਵੇਂ ਤਿੱਖੇ ਗਾਹ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਫਲ੍ਹੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦੰਦ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਠਹਿਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਹੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੀਨ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਟਿੱਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਖ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ।
16 You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away; the wind will scatter them. You will rejoice in Yahweh, you will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
੧੬ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਟੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਡਾ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਫ਼ਾਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
17 The oppressed and needy look for water, but there is none, and their tongues are parched for thirst; I, Yahweh, will respond to their prayers; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
੧੭ਮਸਕੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਹੈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਪਿਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਾਂਗਾ।
18 I will make streams to flow down the slopes, and springs in the middle of the valleys; I will make the desert into a pool of water, and the dry land into springs of water.
੧੮ਮੈਂ ਨੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੋਟੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਦੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਘਾਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਤਲਾਬ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਬ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
19 In the wilderness I will set the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the olive tree. I will set the cypress in the desert plain, with the pines and the cypress box trees.
੧੯ਮੈਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਬੂਲ, ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰੂ, ਚੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਚਨਾਰ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।
20 I will do this so that the people may see, recognize, and understand together, that the hand of Yahweh has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
੨੦ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣਨ, ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਣ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
21 “Present your case,” says Yahweh, “present your best arguments for your idols,” says the King of Jacob.
੨੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣਾ ਦਾਵਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰੋ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮਾਣ ਲਿਆਓ।
22 Let them bring us their own arguments; have them come forward and declare to us what will happen, so we may know these things well. Have them tell us of earlier predictive declarations, so we can reflect on them and know how they were fulfilled.
੨੨ਉਹ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣ, ਜੋ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸੋ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਈਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣੀਏ, ਜਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਓ।
23 Tell things about the future, that we may know if you are gods; do something good or evil, that we may be frightened and impressed.
੨੩ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸੋ, ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਾਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਹੋ, ਹਾਂ, ਭਲਿਆਈ ਜਾਂ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕੁਝ ਤਾਂ ਕਰੋ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੀਏ!
24 See, you idols are nothing and your deeds are nothing; the one who chooses you is detestable.
੨੪ਵੇਖੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੰਮ ਫੋਕਟ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਨ! ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਘਿਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
25 I have raised up one from the north, and he comes; from the sun's rising I summon him who calls on my name, and he will trample the rulers like mud, like a potter who is treading on the clay.
੨੫ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਕਸਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗਾਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਘੁਮਿਆਰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਤਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
26 Who announced this from the beginning, that we might know? Before this time, that we may say, “He is right”? Indeed none of them decreed it, yes, none heard you say anything.
੨੬ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣੀਏ, ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖੀਏ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੀ? ਕੋਈ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
27 I first said to Zion, “Look here they are;” I sent a herald to Jerusalem.
੨੭ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, - ਵੇਖ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ! ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ।
28 When I look, there is no one, not one among them who can give good advice, who, when I ask, can answer a word.
੨੮ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣ।
29 Look, all of them are nothing, and their deeds are nothing; their cast metal figures are wind and emptiness.
੨੯ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਢਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਹਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੋਕਟ ਹੀ ਹਨ।
