Isaiah 40
1 “Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
੧ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਦਿਓ, ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਦਿਓ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
2 “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem; and proclaim to her that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received double from Yahweh's hand for all her sins.”
੨ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਖੋ, ਤੇਰੀ ਔਖੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੀ ਬਦੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁੱਗਣੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਪਾ ਚੁੱਕੀਂ ਹੈਂ।
3 A voice cries out, “In the wilderness prepare the way of Yahweh; make straight in the Arabah a highway for our God.”
੩ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ, ਬਿਆਬਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮਾਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਕਰੋ।
4 Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; and the rugged land will be made level, and the rough places a plain;
੪ਹਰੇਕ ਘਾਟੀ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਰਬਤ ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਬਾ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਖੁਰਦਰਾ ਪੱਧਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੇ-ਨੀਵੇਂ ਥਾਂ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
5 and the glory of Yahweh will be revealed, and all people will see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.
੫ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਵੇਖਣਗੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
6 A voice says, “Cry.” Another answers, “What should I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all their covenant faithfulness is like the flower of the field.
੬ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ! ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਂ? ਹਰੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਘਾਹ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੁਹੱਪਣ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ।
7 The grass withers and the flower wilts when the breath of Yahweh blows on it; surely humanity is grass.
੭ਜਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਾਹ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੂਕਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਘਾਹ ਸੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਕੁਮਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਘਾਹ ਹੀ ਹਨ!
8 The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
੮ਘਾਹ ਸੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਕੁਮਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਸਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
9 Go up on a high mountain, Zion, bearer of good news. Shout out loud, Jerusalem. You who bring good news, raise your voice, do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
੯ਹੇ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ, ਉੱਚੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾ! ਹੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ, ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚੁੱਕ! ਉੱਚੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚੁੱਕ, ਨਾ ਡਰ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ!
10 Look, the Lord Yahweh comes as a victorious warrior, and his strong arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and those he has rescued go before him.
੧੦ਵੇਖੋ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੈ।
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather in his arm the lambs, and carry them close to his heart, and will gently lead the ewes nursing their young.
੧੧ਉਹ ਅਯਾਲੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਨੂੰ ਚਰਾਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਈ ਫਿਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਤੋਰੇਗਾ।
12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured the sky with the span of his hand, held the dust of the earth in a basket, weighed the mountains in scales, or the hills in a balance?
੧੨ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਚੁਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਗਿੱਠਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਪਿਆ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਿਆ, ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਤੇ ਟਿੱਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਾਜ਼ੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ?
13 Who has comprehended the mind of Yahweh, or instructed him as his counselor?
੧੩ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ?
14 From whom did he ever receive instruction? Who taught him the correct way to do things, and taught him knowledge, or showed to him the way of understanding?
੧੪ਉਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ, ਜਾਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ, ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਸਿਖਾਈ, ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ?
15 Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded like the dust on the scales; see, he weighs the isles as a speck.
੧੫ਵੇਖੋ, ਕੌਮਾਂ ਡੋਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੁਪਕੇ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਤਰਾਜ਼ੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਠਹਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੂੜ ਦੇ ਕਣਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
16 Lebanon is not sufficient fuel, nor its wild animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
੧੬ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਬਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਹੋਮ ਬਲੀ ਲਈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
17 All the nations are insufficient before him; they are regarded by him as nothing.
੧੭ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਜਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਫੋਕਟ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
18 To whom then will you compare God? To what idol will you liken him?
੧੮ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਦੱਸੋਗੇ, ਜਾਂ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਦਿਓਗੇ।
19 An idol! A craftsman casts it: The goldsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it.
੧੯ਮੂਰਤ? ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁਨਿਆਰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੋਨਾ ਮੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੰਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
20 To make an offering one chooses a wood that will not rot; he seeks a skillful artisan to make an idol that will not fall over.
੨੦ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਭੇਟ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਚੁਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਹਿੱਲੇ ਨਾ।
21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
੨੧ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ? ਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਢੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ?
22 He is the one who sits above the horizon of the earth; and the inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to live in.
੨੨ਉਹੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਟਿੱਡਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪੜਦੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਤਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਵੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਬੂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਫੈਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
23 He reduces rulers to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth insignificant.
੨੩ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਿਹੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਂਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੋਕਟ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
24 They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem has barely taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them and they wither, and the wind carries them away like straw.
੨੪ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਲਾਏ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਬੀਜੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਫੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੂਕ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੁਮਲਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਡਾ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
25 “To whom then will you compare me, whom do I resemble?” says the Holy One.
੨੫ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਦੱਸੋਗੇ, ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਠਹਿਰਾਂ? ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
26 Look up at the sky! Who has created all these stars? He leads out their formations and calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might and by the strength of his power, not one is missing.
੨੬ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਚੁੱਕੋ, ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਗਿਣ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ-ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਡਾਢੇ ਬਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਇੱਕ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
27 Why do you say, Jacob, and declare, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my God is not concerned about my vindication”?
੨੭ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ?
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.
੨੮ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਕਿ ਅਨਾਦੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜੋ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿਆਂ ਬੰਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਹੁੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਥੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈ?
29 He gives strength to the tired; and to the weak he gives renewed energy.
੨੯ਉਹ ਥੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਬਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਧਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
30 Even young people become tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall:
੩੦ਮੁੰਡੇ ਹੁੱਸ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਜੁਆਨ ਵੀ ਡਿੱਗ ਹੀ ਪੈਣਗੇ,
31 but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will soar with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.
੩੧ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਉਡੀਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਰਿਓਂ ਬਲ ਪਾਉਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਉਕਾਬਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉੱਡਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਦੌੜਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਥੱਕਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਚੱਲਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੁੱਸਣਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
