< Isaiah 40 >
1 “Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
Kasịenụ ndị m obi, kasịenụ ha obi, ka Chineke gị kwuru.
2 “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem; and proclaim to her that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received double from Yahweh's hand for all her sins.”
Were nwayọọ gwa Jerusalem okwu, gwa ya; na ụbọchị ọjọọ ya niile agwụla, na a kwụzuola ụgwọ mmehie ya niile, na o sitela nʼaka Onyenwe anyị nata ụgwọ ọrụ karịrị okpukpu abụọ nke mmehie ya niile.
3 A voice cries out, “In the wilderness prepare the way of Yahweh; make straight in the Arabah a highway for our God.”
Otu onye na-eti mkpu sị, “Dozienụ ụzọ nye Onyenwe anyị nʼime ọzara, meenụ ka ụzọ atụliri atụli guzozie kwem nʼime ọzara nye Chineke anyị.
4 Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; and the rugged land will be made level, and the rough places a plain;
A ga-eme ka ndagwurugwu ọbụla dị elu, ugwu ọbụla na ugwu nta ọbụla ka a ga-emekwa ka ọ dị ala, ebe niile dị mkputamkpu ka a ga-eme ka o guzo kwem, meekwa ka ebe niile dị ndakoro ndakoro dịrị larịị.
5 and the glory of Yahweh will be revealed, and all people will see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.
Nʼihi na a ga-ekpughepụ ebube Onyenwe anyị, mmadụ niile ga-ahụkọkwa ya nʼotu. Nʼihi na ọnụ Onyenwe anyị ekwuola ya.”
6 A voice says, “Cry.” Another answers, “What should I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all their covenant faithfulness is like the flower of the field.
Olu ahụ sịrị, “Tie mkpu!” Ma ajụrụ m sị, “Gịnị ka m ga-eti?” “Mmadụ niile dị ka ahịhịa, ikwesi ntụkwasị obi ha niile dịkwa ka okoko osisi ọhịa.
7 The grass withers and the flower wilts when the breath of Yahweh blows on it; surely humanity is grass.
Ahịhịa na-akpọnwụ, okoko osisi na-achanwụ, nʼihi nʼokuku ume nke Onyenwe anyị na-ekukwasị ya. Nʼezie, ahịhịa ka ndị mmadụ bụ.
8 The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
E, ahịhịa na-akpọnwụ, okoko na-achanwụkwa, ma okwu Chineke anyị na-eguzogide ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.”
9 Go up on a high mountain, Zion, bearer of good news. Shout out loud, Jerusalem. You who bring good news, raise your voice, do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
Gị onye na-eweta oziọma nye Zayọn, rigoro nʼelu ugwu; gị onye na-eweta oziọma nye Jerusalem, welie olu gị elu tisie mkpu ike; e, tisie mkpu ike, atụla egwu. Gwa obodo niile nke Juda okwu sị ha: “Chineke unu na-abịa.”
10 Look, the Lord Yahweh comes as a victorious warrior, and his strong arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and those he has rescued go before him.
Lee, Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị na-abịa nʼike, ike aka ya ka o ji achị. Lee, ụgwọ ọrụ ya dị ya nʼaka, ọ na-abịa ịkwụghachi ụgwọ.
11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather in his arm the lambs, and carry them close to his heart, and will gently lead the ewes nursing their young.
Ọ ga-azụ igwe atụrụ ya dịka onye ọzụzụ atụrụ. Ọ na-achịkọta ụmụ atụrụ. Nʼaka ya abụọ ka ọ ga-ekuru ụmụ atụrụ nʼobi ya. Ọ ga-eji nwayọọ duo ndị na-enye ụmụ ara.
12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured the sky with the span of his hand, held the dust of the earth in a basket, weighed the mountains in scales, or the hills in a balance?
Onye jirila ọbụ aka ya tụọ mmiri dị nʼoke osimiri? Maọbụ onye jiri ntu-aka ya tụọ mbara eluigwe? Onye ka ọ bụ jirila nkata kute uzuzu? Maọbụ jiri ihe ọtụtụ tụọ ugwu ukwu? Onye kwa ji ihe ọtụtụ tụọ ugwu nta?
13 Who has comprehended the mind of Yahweh, or instructed him as his counselor?
Onye nwere ike ịghọta Mmụọ nke Onyenwe anyị, maọbụ dịka onye ndụmọdụ Onyenwe anyị na-ezi ya ihe?
14 From whom did he ever receive instruction? Who taught him the correct way to do things, and taught him knowledge, or showed to him the way of understanding?
Ọ bụ onye ka Onyenwe anyị gakwuru gbaa izu ka ọ kọwaara ya ihe, ọ bụ onye ziri ya ụzọ bụ nke dị mma? Onye bụ onye ahụ kuziri ya ihe ọmụma, maọbụ gosi ya ụzọ nke nghọta?
15 Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded like the dust on the scales; see, he weighs the isles as a speck.
Nʼezie, mba niile dị iche iche dịka otu ntupụta mmiri tanyere nʼime efere; a na-agụnye ha dịka uzuzu dị nʼelu ihe ọtụtụ e ji atụ ihe; ọ na-atụ ala ndị ahụ mmiri gbara gburugburu dịka a ga-asị na ha bụ uzuzu ọma na-adịghị arọ.
16 Lebanon is not sufficient fuel, nor its wild animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
Osisi niile dị na Lebanọn ezughị iji kwanye ọkụ e ji a chụrụ Chineke anyị aja. Otu a kwa, anụmanụ niile dị nʼọhịa Lebanọn niile erughị iji chụọrọ Chineke anyị aja.
17 All the nations are insufficient before him; they are regarded by him as nothing.
O nweghị ihe ọbụla mba niile dị nʼụwa bụ nʼihu ya; ọ na-agụ ha ka ihe na-abaghị uru, dịka ihe na-erughị ihe efu.
18 To whom then will you compare God? To what idol will you liken him?
Onye kwanụ ka unu ga-eji tụnyere Chineke? Olee ụdị oyiyi unu ga-eji kọwaa ihe o yiri?
19 An idol! A craftsman casts it: The goldsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it.
Ma gbasara arụsị apịrị apị, nke onye na-akwa nka ọla tụrụ, nke onye ọkpụ ụzụ ọlaedo na-eji ọlaedo techie ya, ọ bụkwa ya ka ọ na-akpụrụ ọlaọcha.
20 To make an offering one chooses a wood that will not rot; he seeks a skillful artisan to make an idol that will not fall over.
Ma onye ogbenye na-enweghị ịchụ aja dị otu a na-ahọrọ osisi nke na-agaghị ere ure. Ọ na-akpọtara onwe ya onye maara akwa ǹka osisi nke ọma, onye ga-apịtara ya oyiyi arụsị nke na-agaghị ada ada.
21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 He is the one who sits above the horizon of the earth; and the inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to live in.
23 He reduces rulers to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth insignificant.
Ọ na-eweda ndị ukwu niile nke ụwa, mee ha ka ha ghọọ ihe efu.
24 They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem has barely taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them and they wither, and the wind carries them away like straw.
Mgbe a na-ele ha anya, ha na-adị ka ihe a kụrụ nʼubi nke na-epute epute. Mgbe a kụrụ ha, mgbe ha na-epute, mgbe ha na-amanye mgbọrọgwụ nʼala, mgbe ahụ kwa ka Onyenwe anyị na-ezite ifufe nke na-akpọnwụ ha, bufuo ha dịka ahịhịa kpọrọ nkụ.
25 “To whom then will you compare me, whom do I resemble?” says the Holy One.
“Olee onye unu ga-eji tụnyere m? Onye kwa ka mụ na ya ha?” Nke a bụ ihe Onye Nsọ Izrel na-ajụ.
26 Look up at the sky! Who has created all these stars? He leads out their formations and calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might and by the strength of his power, not one is missing.
Lee anya nʼeluigwe; onye kere kpakpando ndị a niile? Onye na-edu ha dịka onye ọzụzụ atụrụ? Onye na-akpọ nke ọbụla aha ya? Ọ bụ site nʼamamihe na ike ya dị ukwuu, ka o ji eme ka ha ghara ịkpafu.
27 Why do you say, Jacob, and declare, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my God is not concerned about my vindication”?
Ọ bụ nʼihi gịnị ka i ji na-asị, gị Jekọb? Ọ bụkwa gịnị mere gị Izrel, i ji na-atamu ntamu na-asị, “Ụzọ m bụ ihe ezonarịrị Onyenwe anyị, Chineke adịghị etinyekwa anya ya nʼihe metụtara m?”
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.
Ọ bụ na ị matabeghị? Ọ ga-abụ na ị nụbeghị ya? Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke nke mgbe niile ebighị ebi, Onye kere nsọtụ niile nke ụwa. Ọ naghị ada mba; ike adịghịkwa agwụ ya. O nwekwaghị onye pụrụ ịmata ịdị omimi nke nghọta ya.
29 He gives strength to the tired; and to the weak he gives renewed energy.
Ọ na-enye ndị na-ada mba ike, na-emekwa ka ndị na-enweghị ume nwee ume.
30 Even young people become tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall:
Ọ bụladị ụmụ okorobịa na-ada mba, ike na-agwụkwa ha. E, ụmụ okorobịa na-asọ ngọngọ daa,
31 but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will soar with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.
