< Isaiah 39 >
1 At that time Marduk-Baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah; for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick and had recovered.
Awo mu nnaku ezo Merodakubaladani mutabani wa Baladani kabaka w’e Babulooni, n’aweereza Keezeekiya ebbaluwa n’ekirabo, kubanga yawulira nti yali alwadde naye ng’awonye.
2 Hezekiah was pleased by these things; he showed the messengers his storehouse of valuable things—the silver, the gold, the spices and precious oil, the storehouse of his weapons, and all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his kingdom, that Hezekiah did not show them.
Keezeekiya n’abasanyukira, n’abalaga ennyumba ye ey’ebintu bye eby’omuwendo omungi, effeeza ne zaabu, n’ebyakaloosa, n’amafuta ag’omuwendo omungi, n’ennyumba yonna ey’ebyokulwanyisa. Byonna ebyali mu bugagga bwe, tewaali kintu mu nnyumba ye newaakubadde mu bwakabaka bwe bwonna Keezeekiya ky’ataabalaga.
3 Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and asked him, “What did these men say to you? Where did they come from?” Hezekiah said, “They came to me from the distant country of Babylon.”
Awo Isaaya nnabbi n’ajja eri kabaka Keezeekiya n’amubuuza nti, “Abasajja banno bagamba ki? Era bavudde wa okujja gy’oli?” Keezeekiya n’amuddamu nti, “Bazze wange, bava mu nsi ey’ewala e Babulooni.”
4 Isaiah asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen everything in my house. There is nothing among my valuable things that I have not shown them.”
N’amubuuza nti, “Balabye ki mu nnyumba yo?” Keezeekiya n’addamu nti, “Byonna ebiri mu nnyumba yange babirabye, tewali kintu mu byobugagga bwange kye sibalaze.”
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Listen to the word of Yahweh of hosts:
Awo Isaaya n’agamba Keezeekiya nti, “Wuliriza Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye ky’agamba:
6 'Look, the days are about to come when everything in your palace, the things that your ancestors stored away until this present day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says Yahweh.
Laba, ennaku zijja, byonna ebiri mu nnyumba yo n’ebyo bajjajjaabo bye baaterekanga ebikyaliwo n’okutuusa leero, lwe biritwalibwa e Babulooni, ne watasigala kintu na kimu, bw’ayogera Mukama.
7 The sons born from you, whom you yourself have fathered—they will take them away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'”
N’abamu ku batabani bo, ggwe kennyini b’ozaala balitwalibwa mu lubiri lwa kabaka w’e Babulooni ne balaayibwa.”
8 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of Yahweh that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “There will be peace and stability in my days.”
Awo Keezeekiya n’agamba Isaaya nti, “Ekigambo kya Mukama ky’oŋŋambye kirungi.” Kubanga yalowooza nti, “Kasita emirembe, n’obutebenkevu binaabangawo mu mulembe gwange.”
