< Isaiah 37 >

1 It came about that when King Hezekiah heard their report, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of Yahweh.
Ket napasamak nga idi nangngeg ni Ari Ezekias ti impadamagda, rinay-abna dagiti kawesna, nagkawes isuna iti nakersang a lupot, ket simrek iti balay ni Yahweh.
2 He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, all covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet.
Imbaonna ni Eliakim a mangimatmaton iti palasio, ni Sebna nga eskriba, ken dagiti panglakayen dagiti padi a mapan kenni Isaias a profeta a lalaki a putot ni Amos, nakakawesda amin iti nakersang a lupot.
3 They said to him, “Hezekiah says, 'This day is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace, like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to give birth to her child.
Kinunada kenkuana, “Kuna ni Ezekias, 'Daytoy nga aldaw ket aldaw ti panagsagaba, pannakatubngar, ken pannakaibabain, kas iti tiempo a dandanin a maipasngay ti maysa a maladaga, ngem awan ti pigsa ti ina a mangipasngay iti anakna.
4 It may be Yahweh your God will hear the words of the chief commander, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Now lift up your prayer for the remnant that is still here.'”
Nalabit a denggen ni Yahweh a Diosmo dagiti sasao ti panguloen a mangidadaulo, nga imbaon ti ari ti Asiria nga apona a mangkarit iti sibibiag a Dios, ket tubngarenna dagiti sasao a nangngeg ni Yahweh a Diosmo. Ita, ikararagam dagiti nabatbati nga adda pay laeng ditoy.”
5 So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah,
Napan ngarud kenni Isaias dagiti adipen ni Ari Ezekias,
6 and Isaiah said to them, “Say to your master: 'Yahweh says, “Do not be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have insulted me.
ket kinuna ni Isaias kadakuada, “Ibagayo iti apoyo: 'Kuna ni Yahweh, “Saanka nga agbuteng kadagiti sasao a nangngegmo, a pananglais kaniak dagiti adipen ti ari ti Asiria.
7 Look, I will put a spirit in him, and he will hear a certain report and go back to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”'”
Denggem, mangikabilak iti maysa nga espiritu kenkuana, ket makangngegto isuna iti damag ket agsubli isuna iti dagana. Ipapasagkonto isuna babaen iti kampilan iti bukodna a daga.'”
8 Then the chief commander returned and found the king of Assyria fighting against Libnah, for he had heard that the king had gone away from Lachish.
Kalpasanna, nagsubli ti panguloen a mangidadaulo ket nasarakanna ti ari ti Asiria a makigubgubat iti Libna, ta nangngegna a pimmanaw ti ari iti Lakis.
9 Then Sennacherib heard that Tirhakah king of Cush and Egypt had mobilized to fight against him, so he sent messengers again to Hezekiah with a message:
Ket nangngeg ni Senakerib a nagsagana a manggubat kenkuana ni Tirhaka nga ari ti Etiopia ken Egipto, isu a nangibaon manen isuna kadagiti mensahero kenni Ezekias, kastoy ti kuna ti mensahe:
10 “Say to Hezekiah, king of Judah, 'Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”
“Ibagayo kenni Ezekias nga ari ti Juda, 'Saanmo nga ipalubos nga allilawennaka ti Diosmo a pagtaltalkam, a kunana, “Saan a maiyawat ti Jerusalem iti ima ti ari ti Asiria.”
11 See, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them completely. So will you be rescued?
Kitaem, nangngegmo no ania ti inaramid dagiti ari ti Asiria kadagiti amin a dagdaga babaen iti naan-anay a panangdadaelda kadakuada. Isu a maispalkanto kadi?
12 Have the gods of the nations rescued them, the nations that my fathers destroyed: Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden in Tel Assar?
Inispal kadi ida dagiti dios dagiti nasion, dagiti nasion a dinadael dagiti ammak: ti Gozan, Haran, Resef, ken dagiti tattao ti Eden idiay Telasar?
13 Where is the king of Hamath, the king of Arpad, the king of the cities of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?'”
Sadino ti ayan ti ari ti Hamat, ti ari ti Arpad, ti ari dagiti siudad ti Sefarvaim, ti Hena, ken Ivva?'”
14 Hezekiah received this letter from hand of the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the house of Yahweh and spread it before him.
Inawat ni Ezekias daytoy a surat manipud kadagiti mensahero ket binasana daytoy. Ket simmang-at isuna a napan iti balay ni Yahweh ket inukradna daytoy iti sangoanan ni Yahweh.
15 Hezekiah prayed to Yahweh:
Nagkararag ni Ezekias kenni Yahweh:
16 “Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, you who sit above the cherubim, you are God alone over all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.
“O Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin, a Dios ti Israel, sika a nakatugaw iti ngatoen dagiti kerubim, sika laeng ti Dios a mangiturturay iti amin a pagarian iti lubong. Pinarsuam ti langit ken ti daga.
17 Turn your ear, Yahweh, and listen. Open your eyes, Yahweh, and see, and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to mock the living God.
Ibaw-ingmo ti lapayagmo, O Yahweh, ket denggem. Luktam dagiti matam, O Yahweh, ket kitaem, ken denggem dagiti sasao ni Senakerib, nga impatulodna tapno laisenna ti sibibiag a Dios.
18 It is true, Yahweh, the kings of Assyria have destroyed all the nations and their lands.
Pudno, O Yahweh, a dinadael dagiti ari ti Asiria dagiti amin a nasion ken dagiti dagada.
19 They have put their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but the work of men's hands, just wood and stone. So the Assyrians have destroyed them.
Pinuoranda dagiti dios dagidiay a nasion, ta saanda a dios no di ket aramid dagiti ima dagiti tattao, kayo ken bato laeng. Isu a dinadael ida dagiti taga-Asiria.
20 So now, Yahweh our God, save us from his power, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are Yahweh alone.”
Isu nga ita, O Yahweh a Diosmi, isalakannakami manipud iti pannakabalinna, tapno maammoan koma dagiti amin a pagarian iti lubong a sika laeng ti agmaymaysa a Yahweh.
21 Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah, saying, “Yahweh, the God of Israel says, 'Because you have prayed to me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,
Ket nangipatulod iti mensahe ni Isaias nga anak ni Amos kenni Ezekias, a kunana, “Kuna ni Yahweh a Dios ti Israel, 'Gapu ta nagkararagka kaniak maipapan kenni Senakerib nga ari ti Asiria,
22 this is the word that Yahweh has spoken about him: “The virgin daughter of Zion despises you and laughs you to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head at you.
daytoy ti sao nga imbaga ni Yahweh maipapan kenkuana: “Um-umsiennaka ti birhen nga anak ti Sion ken katkatawaannaka tapno laisennaka; iwingwingiwing iti anak ti Jerusalem ti ulona kenka.
23 Whom have you defied and insulted? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel.
Siasino kadi ti kinarit ken linaismo? Ken siasino kadi ti pinukkawam ken nangitangadam kadagiti matam a sitatangsit? Iti Nasantoan ti Israel.
24 By your servants you have defied the Lord and have said, 'With the multitude of my chariots I have gone up to the heights of the mountains, to the highest elevations of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and choice cypress trees there, and I will enter into its farthest high places, its most fruitful forest.
Babaen kadagiti adipenmo, kinaritmo ti Apo ket kinunam, ‘Simmang-atak kadagiti nangangato a tapaw dagiti bantay a kaduak dagiti adu a karwahek, iti kangatoan a disso ti Lebanon. Pukanekto dagiti natayag a sedro daytoy ken dagiti kasasayaatan a kayo ti saleng sadiay, ken sumrekakto iti kaadaywan a nangato a disso, ti nabunga a bakir daytoy.
25 I have dug wells and drunk water; I dried up all the rivers of Egypt under the soles of my feet.'
Nangkaliak kadagiti bubon ken imminumak iti danum dagiti gangganaet; pinatianak dagiti amin a karayan ti Egipto iti dapan dagiti sakak.'
26 Have you not heard how I determined it long ago and worked it out in ancient times? Now I am bringing it to pass. You are here to reduce impregnable cities into heaps of ruins.
Saanmo kadi a nangngeg no kasano nga inkeddengko daytoy idi un-una a panawen ken no kasano nga inaramidko daytoy idi un-una a tiempo? Ita, ipatpatungpalko daytoy. Addaka ditoy tapno pagbalinen a gabsuon dagiti narba dagiti siudad a narigat a maraut.
27 Their inhabitants, of little strength, are shattered and ashamed. They are plants in the field, green grass, the grass on the roof or in the field, before the east wind.
Dagiti agnanaed kadagitoy, a nakapsut ket mariribukan ken mapababainan. Kaslada kadagiti mulmula iti tay-ak, nalangto a ruot, ti ruot iti atep wenno iti tay-ak, a magango no puk-oyan ti napudot nga angin manipud iti daya.
28 But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.
Ngem ammok ti panagtugawmo, ti panagruarmo, ti panagserrekmo, ken ti panagpungtotmo kaniak.
29 Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has reached my ears, I will put my hook in your nose, and my bit in your mouth; I will turn you back the way you came.”
Gapu iti panagpungtotmo kaniak, ken gapu ta dimmanun kadagiti lapayagko ti kinatangsitmo, ikabilkonto ti kaw-itko iti agongmo, ken busalankanto; isublikanto iti isu met laeng a dalan nga immayam.”
30 This will be the sign for you: This year you will eat what grows wild, and in the second year what grows from that. But in the third year you must plant and harvest, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
Daytoyto ti pagilasinam: Iti daytoy a tawen, mangankayonto kadagiti balang, ken iti maikadua a tawen ket ti agsaringit manipud iti dayta. Ngem iti maikatlo a tawen, masapul nga agmula ken agapitkayo, agmulakayo kadagiti ubas ket kanenyo dagiti bungada.
31 The remnant of the house of Judah that survives will again take root and bear fruit.
Ti nabati a nakalasat iti balay ti Juda ket agramutto manen ken agbunga.
32 For from Jerusalem a remnant will come out; from Mount Zion survivors will come. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.'”
Ta rummuarto dagiti nabati manipud iti Jerusalem; rummuarto dagiti nakalasat manipud iti Bantay Sion.' Aramidento daytoy iti regta ni Yahweh a Mannakabalin-amin.”
33 Therefore Yahweh says this about the king of Assyria: “He will not come into this city and he will not shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build up a siege ramp against it.
Ngarud, kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh maipapan iti ari ti Asiria: “Saanto isuna a sumrek iti daytoy a siudad, wenno mangibiat iti pana ditoy. Ken saanto isuna nga umay iti sangoanan daytoy nga addaan iti kalasag wenno mangaramid iti pagbatayanna a manglakub iti daytoy.
34 The way by which he came will be the same way he will leave; he will not enter this city—this is Yahweh's declaration.
Ti dalan a nagnaanna nga immay ket isunto met laeng ti dalan a pagnaanna a pumanaw; saan isuna a sumrek iti daytoy a siudad. Daytoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh.
35 For I will defend this city and rescue it, for my own sake and for David my servant's sake.”
Ta salaknibakto ken ispalekto daytoy a siudad, gapu kaniak ken gapu kenni David nga adipenko.”
36 Then the angel of Yahweh went out and attacked the camp of the Assyrians, putting to death 185,000 soldiers. When the men arose early in the morning, dead bodies lay everywhere.
Kalpasanna, rimmuar ti anghel ni Yahweh ket rinautna ti kampo dagiti taga-Asiria, pinatayna ti 185, 000 a mannakigubat. Idi bimmangon dagiti tattao iti parbangon, agkakaiwara dagiti bangkay.
37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria left Israel and went home and stayed in Nineveh.
Isu a pimmanaw ni Senakerib nga ari ti Asiria iti Israel ket nagawid ken nagtalinaed iti Nineve.
38 Later, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisrok his god, his sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with the sword. Then they escaped into the land of Ararat. Then Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.
Saan a nagbayag, kabayatan nga agdaydayaw isuna iti balay ni Nisroc a diosna, pinatay isuna dagiti annakna a ni Adramalec ken ni Sarazer babaen iti kampilan. Ket naglibasda a napan iti daga ti Ararat. Ket ni Esarhadon nga anakna ti nagturay a kas ari a simmukat kenkuana.
