Isaiah 33
1 Woe to you, destroyer who has not been destroyed! Woe to the betrayer whom they have not betrayed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed. When you stop betraying, they will betray you.
Ai de vocês que destroem, mas não foram destruídos, e quem o traiu, mas ninguém o traiu! Quando você tiver terminado de destruir, será destruído; e quando você tiver terminado a traição, será traído.
2 Yahweh, be gracious to us; we wait for you; be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.
Yahweh, seja gracioso conosco. Nós esperamos por você. Seja nossa força todas as manhãs, nossa salvação também no momento de problemas.
3 At the loud noise the peoples flee; when you arise, the nations are scattered.
Com o barulho do trovão, os povos fugiram. Quando você se levanta, as nações estão dispersas.
4 Your spoil is gathered as the locusts gather; as locusts leap, men leap on it.
Seu saque será recolhido quando a lagarta se reunir. Os homens saltarão sobre ele como os gafanhotos saltam.
5 Yahweh is exalted. He lives in a high place. He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.
Yahweh é exaltado, pois mora nas alturas. Ele encheu Zion de justiça e retidão.
6 He will be the stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of Yahweh is his treasure.
Haverá estabilidade em seu tempo, abundância de salvação, sabedoria e conhecimento. O medo de Yahweh é seu tesouro.
7 Look, their envoys cry in the streets; the diplomats hoping for peace weep bitterly.
Veja, seus valentes choram lá fora; os embaixadores da paz choram amargamente.
8 The highways are deserted; there are no more travelers. Covenants are broken, witnesses are despised, and mankind is not respected.
As rodovias estão desoladas. O homem viajante cessa. O convênio é quebrado. Ele desprezou as cidades. Ele não respeita o homem.
9 The land mourns and withers away; Lebanon is ashamed and withers away; Sharon is like a desert plain; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
A terra chora e definha. O Líbano está confuso e murcha. Sharon é como um deserto, e Bashan e Carmel são despojados.
10 “Now will I arise,” says Yahweh; “now I will be lifted up; now I will be elevated.
“Agora eu me levantarei”, diz Yahweh. “Agora eu me levantarei”. Agora vou ser exaltado.
11 You conceive chaff, and you give birth to stubble; your breath is a fire that will consume you.
Você irá conceber o palhiço. Você dará à luz o restolho. Seu fôlego é um fogo que vai devorá-lo.
12 The peoples will be burned to lime, as thornbushes are cut down and are burned.
Os povos serão como a queima de cal, como espinhos que são cortados e queimados no fogo.
13 You who are far away, hear what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might.”
Ouça, você que está muito longe, o que eu fiz; e, vocês que estão perto, reconheçam minha força”.
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can sojourn with a raging fire? Who among us can sojourn with everlasting burnings?
Os pecadores em Sião têm medo. O tremor tomou conta dos que não têm Deus. Quem entre nós pode viver com o fogo devorador? Quem entre nós pode viver com a queima eterna?
15 He who walks righteously and speaks honestly; who despises the gain of oppression, who shakes his hand so that it will not accept a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed, and who shuts his eyes from looking on evil—
Aquele que caminha com retidão e fala sem culpa, aquele que despreza o ganho das opressões, que gesticula com suas mãos, recusando-se a aceitar um suborno, que impede seus ouvidos de ouvir falar de derramamento de sangue, e fecha os olhos para não olhar para o mal...
16 this is the man who will dwell on the heights, his place of defense will be the fortress among the cliffs, his food will be given, and his water will be in steady supply.
ele vai morar no alto. Seu lugar de defesa será a fortaleza das rochas. Seu pão será fornecido. Suas águas estarão certas.
17 Your eyes will see the king in his beauty; they will see a land off in the distance.
Seus olhos verão o rei em sua beleza. Eles verão uma terra distante.
18 Your heart will recall the terror; where is the scribe, where is he who weighed the money? Where is he who counted the towers?
Seu coração meditará sobre o terror. Onde está aquele que contou? Onde está aquele que pesou? Onde está aquele que contou as torres?
19 You will no longer see the defiant people, a people of a strange language that you do not understand.
Você não verá mais as pessoas ferozes, um povo de um discurso profundo que você não consegue compreender, com uma linguagem estranha que você não consegue entender.
20 Look at Zion, the city of our feasts; your eyes will see Jerusalem as a quiet habitation, a tent that will not be removed, whose stakes will never be pulled up nor will any of its cords be broken.
Veja em Zion, a cidade de nossos festivais nomeados. Seus olhos verão Jerusalém, uma morada tranqüila, uma tenda que não será removida. Suas estacas nunca serão arrancadas, nem nenhum de seus cordões será quebrado.
21 Instead, Yahweh in majesty will be with us, in a place of broad rivers and streams. No warship with oars will travel it, and no large ships will sail by.
Mas lá Yahweh estará conosco em majestade, um lugar de amplos rios e riachos, na qual nenhuma galera com remos irá, nem nenhum navio galante passará por lá.
22 For Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh is our lawgiver, Yahweh is our king; he will save us.
Pois Yahweh é nosso juiz. Yahweh é nosso legislador. Yahweh é nosso rei. Ele nos salvará.
23 Your riggings are slack; they cannot hold the mast in place; they cannot spread the sail; when the great spoil is divided, even the lame will drag off the spoil.
Seu armamento é desvinculado. Eles não puderam fortalecer o pé de seu mastro. Eles não conseguiam espalhar a vela. Então a presa de um grande saque foi dividida. O coxo levou a presa.
24 The inhabitants will not say, “I am sick;” the people who live there will be forgiven for their iniquity.
O habitante não vai dizer: “Estou doente”. As pessoas que habitam ali serão perdoadas de sua iniqüidade.
