< Isaiah 32 >

1 Look, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice.
Vakai ʻe pule ha tuʻi ʻi he māʻoniʻoni, pea ʻe pule mo e ngaahi houʻeiki ʻi he fai angatonu.
2 Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a land of weariness.
Pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻae tangata ʻo hangē ko e toitoiʻanga mei he matangi, mo e hūfanga mei he afā; pea hangē ko e ngaahi vaitafe ʻi he potu mōmoa, ʻo hangē ko e malumalu ʻo ha maka lahi ʻi he fonua ʻoku puhengia.
3 Then the eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will hear attentively.
Pea ʻe ʻikai nenefu ʻae mata ʻokinautolu ʻoku ʻaa, pea ʻe fakafanongo ʻae telinga ʻokinautolu ʻoku ongo.
4 The rash will think carefully with understanding, and the stutterer will speak distinctly and with ease.
Pea ko e loto ʻoe ʻohonoa ʻe tokanga pea maʻu ʻae ʻilo, pea ko e ʻelelo ʻoku leʻoleʻovale ʻe lea vave mo totonu.
5 The fool will no longer be called honorable, nor the deceiver called principled.
‌ʻE ʻikai toe ui ʻae angakovi ko e angalelei, pe pehē ko e faʻa foaki ʻaia ʻoku manumanu.
6 For the fool speaks folly, and his heart plans evil and godless actions, and he speaks wrongly against Yahweh. He makes the hungry empty, and the thirsty he causes to lack drink.
He ko e tangata vale te ne lea vale, pea ʻe ngāue kovi hono loto, ke fai kākā, pea lea hala kia Sihova, ke fakamaha ʻae laumālie ʻoe fiekaia, pea taʻofi ʻe ia ʻae inu mei he fieinua.
7 The deceiver's methods are evil. He devises wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lies, even when the poor say what is right.
Ko e ngaahi meʻa ngāue ʻoe angakovi ʻoku kovi: ʻoku ne fakakaukau kovi ke fakafihi ʻae masiva ʻaki ʻae lea loi, pea ke mioʻi ʻae lea totonu ʻae masiva ʻi he fakamaau.
8 But the honorable man makes honorable plans; and because of his honorable actions he will stand.
Ka ko e angalelei ʻoku ne fakakaukau ki he ngaahi meʻa lelei; pea ʻi he ngaahi meʻa lelei ʻe fokotuʻumaʻu ia.
9 Rise up, you women who are at ease, and listen to my voice; you carefree daughters, listen to me.
Mou tuʻu hake, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau fefine ʻoku nofo fakafiemālie; fanongo ki hoku leʻo, ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi ʻofefine taʻetokanga; fakafanongo ki heʻeku lea.
10 For in a little more than a year your confidence will be broken, you carefree women, for the grape harvest will fail, the ingathering will not come.
Te mou ongosia ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho mo e taʻu lahi, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau fefine taʻetokanga: koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai hoko ʻae ngaohi ʻoe vaine, ʻe ʻikai hoko hono tānaki.
11 Tremble, you women who are at ease; be troubled, you confident ones; take off your fine clothes and make yourselves bare; put on sackcloth around your waists.
Ke tetetete, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau fefine ʻoku fakafiemālie; ke mamahi, ʻakimoutolu ʻoku taʻetokanga: vete homou kofu, fakatelefua ʻakimoutolu, pea nonoʻo ʻae tauangaʻa ki homou noʻotanga vala.
12 You will wail for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vines.
Te nau lāunga koeʻuhi ko e mata ʻoe huhu, pea ki he ngaahi ngoue lelei, pea ki he vaine fua.
13 The land of my people will be overgrown with thorns and briers, even in all the once joyful houses in the city of revelry.
‌ʻE tupu hake ʻae ngaahi ʻakau talatala mo e talatalaʻāmoa ʻi he fonua ʻo hoku kakai; ʻio, ʻi he ngaahi fale fakafiefia kotoa pē ʻi he kolo ʻoe fiefia:
14 For the palace will be forsaken, the crowded city will be deserted; the hill and the watchtower will become caves forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks;
Koeʻuhi kuo liʻaki ʻae ngaahi fale fakaʻeiʻeiki; ko e kolo ʻoe tokolahi kuo siʻaki; ʻe hoko ʻae ngaahi puke mo e ngaahi fale māʻolunga ko e ngaahi ʻana ʻo taʻengata, ko e fiefiaʻanga ʻoe fanga ʻasi kaivao, ko e keinangaʻanga ʻoe fanga manu;
15 until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered as a forest.
Kaeʻoua ke huaʻi hifo kiate kitautolu ʻae laumālie mei ʻolunga, pea hoko ʻae toafa ko e ngoue faʻa fua, pea lau ʻae ngoue faʻa fua ko e vao ʻakau.
16 Then justice will reside in the wilderness; and righteousness will live in the fruitful field.
Pea ʻe toki nofo ʻae fakamaau ʻi he toafa, pea nofo ʻae māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ngoue faʻa fua.
17 The work of righteousness will be peace; and the result of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.
Pea ko e ngāue ʻoe māʻoniʻoni ko e melino ia; pea ko e fua ʻoe māʻoniʻoni ko e fiemālie mo e nofo lelei ʻo taʻengata.
18 My people will live in a peaceful habitation, in secure homes, and in quiet resting places.
Pea ʻe nofo ʻa hoku kakai ʻi he nofoʻanga ʻoe melino, pea ʻi he ngaahi fale tuʻumaʻu, pea ʻi he ngaahi mālōlōʻanga ʻoe fiemālie;
19 But even if it hails and the forest is destroyed, and the city is completely annihilated,
Ka e tō ʻae ʻuha maka, pea ʻe fakahinga ʻae vao ʻakau; pea ʻe fakamoʻulaloa ʻaupito ʻae kolo.
20 you who sow beside all the streams will be blessed, you who send out your ox and donkey to graze.
‌ʻOku monūʻia ʻakimoutolu ʻoku tūtuuʻi ʻi he veʻe vai kotoa pē, pea fekau atu ki ai ʻae vaʻe ʻoe pulu mo e ʻasi.
