Isaiah 29
1 Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals come round.
૧અરે અરીએલ, અરીએલ, દાઉદની છાવણીના નગર, તને અફસોસ! એક પછી એક વર્ષ વીતી જવા દો; વારાફરતી પર્વો આવ્યા કરો.
2 But I will besiege Ariel, and she will be mourning and lamenting; and she will be to me like Ariel.
૨પછી હું અરીએલને સંકટમાં નાખીશ, ત્યાં શોક અને વિલાપ થઈ રહેશે; અને તે મારી આગળ વેદી જેવું જ થશે.
3 I will encamp against you in a circle and will lay siege against you with a palisade, and I will raise siege works against you.
૩હું તારી આસપાસ ફરતી છાવણી રાખીશ અને કિલ્લા બાંધી તને ઘેરો નાખીશ અને તારી સામે મોરચા ઊભા કરીશ.
4 You will be brought down and will speak from the ground; your speech will be low from the dust. Your voice will sound like a spirit that speaks from the ground, and out of the dust your speech will whisper.
૪તને નીચે પાડવામાં આવશે અને તું ભૂમિમાંથી બોલશે; ધૂળમાંથી તારી ધીમી વાણી સંભળાશે. તારો અવાજ ભૂમિમાંથી સાધેલા અશુદ્ધ આત્માનાં જેવો આવશે અને તારો બોલ ધીમે સ્વરે ધૂળમાંથી આવશે.
5 The great number of your invaders will become like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones as chaff that passes away. It will happen suddenly, in an instant.
૫વળી તારા પર ચઢાઈ કરનારાઓ ઝીણી ધૂળના જેવા અને દુષ્ટોનું સમુદાય પવનમાં ઊડી જતાં ફોતરાંના જેવો થશે. હા, તે અચાનક અને પળવારમાં થશે.
6 Yahweh of hosts will come to you with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with strong winds and violent storm, and the flames of a devouring fire.
૬સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ મેઘગર્જના, ધરતીકંપ, મોટા અવાજ, વંટોળિયા, આંધી અને ગળી જનાર અગ્નિની જ્વાળાઓ મારફતે તને સજા કરશે.
7 It will be like a dream, a vision of the night: A horde of all the nations will fight against Ariel and her stronghold. They will attack her and her fortifications to press upon her.
૭જે સર્વ પ્રજાઓ અરીએલની સામે લડે છે; એટલે જે સર્વ તેની તથા તેના કિલ્લાની સામે લડીને તેને સંકટમાં નાખે છે, તેઓનો સમુદાય સ્વપ્ન જેવો અને રાત્રીના આભાસ જેવો થઈ જશે.
8 It will be like when a hungry man dreams he is eating, but when he awakes, his stomach is empty. It will be like when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he when he awakes, he is fainting, with his thirst not quenched. Yes, so will be the great number of nations that fights against Mount Zion.
૮જેમ ભૂખ્યા માણસને સ્વપ્ન આવે છે કે તે ખાય છે; પણ જ્યારે તે જાગે છે ત્યારે તો તે ભૂખ્યો ને ભૂખ્યો જ હોય છે. જેમ તરસ્યાને સ્વપ્ન આવે છે, તેમાં તે પાણી પીએ છે; પણ જ્યારે તે જાગે છે ત્યારે હજી તે તરસને કારણે બેભાન જેવી અવસ્થામાં હોય છે. તે પ્રમાણે સિયોન પર્વતની સામે લડનારી સર્વ પ્રજાઓના સમુદાયને થશે.
9 Astonish yourselves and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not with wine; stagger, but not with beer.
૯વિસ્મિત થઈને અચંબો પામો; પોતાને અંધ કરીને દૃષ્ટિહીન થઈ જાઓ! ભાન ભૂલેલા થાઓ, પણ દ્રાક્ષારસથી નહિ; લથડિયાં ખાઓ પણ દારૂથી નહિ.
10 For Yahweh has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep. He has closed your eyes, the prophets, and has covered your heads, the seers.
૧૦કેમ કે યહોવાહે ભર ઊંઘનો આત્મા તમારી પર રેડ્યો છે. તેમણે તમારી આંખો એટલે પ્રબોધકોને બંધ કર્યા છે અને તમારાં શિર એટલે દ્રષ્ટાઓને ઢાંકી દીધા છે.
11 All revelation has become to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men might give to one who is learned, saying, “Read this.” He also says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
૧૧આ સર્વનું દર્શન તમારી આગળ મહોરથી બંધ કરેલા પુસ્તકના જેવું છે; લોકો જે ભણેલા છે તેને તે આપીને કહે છે, “આ વાંચ.” તે કહે છે, “હું તે વાંચી શકતો નથી, કારણ કે તે પર મહોર મારેલી છે.”
12 If the book is given to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”
૧૨પછી તે પુસ્તક અભણને આપવામાં આવે છે અને તેને કહે છે, “આ વાંચ,” તે કહે છે, “મને વાંચતા આવડતું નથી.”
13 The Lord said, “This people comes close to me with their mouths and honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Their honor for me is only a commandment of men that has been taught.
૧૩પ્રભુ કહે છે, “આ લોકો તેમના મુખથી જ મારી પાસે આવે છે અને કેવળ હોઠોથી મને માન આપે છે, પરંતુ તેઓએ પોતાનું હૃદય મારાથી દૂર રાખ્યું છે. તેઓ મારો જે આદર કરે છે તે માત્ર માણસોએ શીખવેલી આજ્ઞા છે.
14 Therefore, see, I will proceed to do a marvelous thing among this people, wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will disappear.”
૧૪તેથી, જુઓ, આ લોકમાં અદ્દભુત કામ, હા, મહાન તથા અજાયબ કામ ફરીથી કરવાનો છું. તેઓના જ્ઞાનીઓનું ડહાપણ નષ્ટ થશે અને તેઓના બુદ્ધિમાનોની બુદ્ધિનો લોપ થઈ જશે.
15 Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in darkness. They say, “Who sees us, and who knows us?”
૧૫જેઓ યહોવાહથી પોતાની યોજનાઓ સંતાડવાને ઊંડો વિચાર કરે છે અને જેઓ અંધકારમાં કામ કરે છે. તેઓ કહે છે, “અમને કોણ જુએ છે, અમારા વિષે કોણ જાણે છે? તેઓને અફસોસ!
16 You turn things upside down! Should the potter be considered like clay, so that the thing that is made should say about him who made it, “He did not make me,” or the thing formed say about him who formed it, “He does not understand”?
૧૬તમે વસ્તુઓને ઊંધી સીધી કરો છો! શું કુંભાર માટીની બરાબર ગણાય, એવી રીતે કે, કૃત્યો પોતાના કર્તા વિષે કહે, “તેણે મને બનાવ્યો નથી,” અથવા જે વસ્તુની રચના થયેલી છે તે પોતાના રચનારને કહેશે કે, “તે મને સમજી શકતો નથી?”
17 In just a little while, Lebanon will be turned into a field, and the field will become a forest.
૧૭થોડી જ વારમાં, લબાનોન વાડી થઈ જશે અને વાડી વન થઈ જશે.
18 On that day the deaf will hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of the deep darkness.
૧૮તે દિવસે બધિરજનો પુસ્તકનાં વચનો સાંભળશે અને અંધની આંખો ગહન અંધકારમાં જોશે.
19 The oppressed will again rejoice in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
૧૯દીનજનો યહોવાહમાં આનંદ કરશે અને દરિદ્રી માણસો ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રમાં હરખાશે.
20 For the ruthless will cease, and the scoffer will vanish. All those who love to do evil will be eliminated,
૨૦કેમ કે જુલમીનો અંત આવ્યો છે અને નિંદકને ખતમ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. જે કોઈ દુષ્ટતા કરવાનું ચાહે છે તેઓ સર્વને નાબૂદ કરવામાં આવશે,
21 who by a word make a man out to be an offender. They lay a snare for him who seeks justice at the gate and put the righteous down with empty lies.
૨૧તેઓ તો દાવામાં માણસને ગુનેગાર ઠરાવનાર છે. તેને માટે જાળ બિછાવે છે તેઓ દરવાજા આગળ ન્યાય ઇચ્છે છે પરંતુ ન્યાયને ખાલી જુઠાણાથી નીચે પાડે છે.
22 Therefore this is what Yahweh says concerning the house of Jacob—Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, “Jacob will no longer be ashamed, nor will his face be pale.
૨૨તેથી જેણે ઇબ્રાહિમનો ઉદ્ધાર કર્યો, તે યહોવાહ યાકૂબના કુટુંબ વિષે કહે છે: “યાકૂબને કદી શરમાવું પડશે નહિ, તેનો ચહેરો ઊતરી જશે નહિ.
23 But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, they will make my name holy. They will make holy the name of the Holy One of Jacob and they will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
૨૩પરંતુ જ્યારે પોતાની મધ્યે પોતાના સંતાનો એટલે મારા હાથની કૃતિઓને જોશે, ત્યારે તેઓ મારા નામને પવિત્ર માનશે. તેઓ યાકૂબના પવિત્રને પવિત્ર માનશે અને ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરના આદરમાં ઊભા રહેશે.
24 Those who err in spirit will gain understanding, and complainers will learn knowledge.”
૨૪આત્મામાં જેઓ ભૂલા પડેલા હતા તેઓ સમજ પામશે અને ફરિયાદીઓ ડહાપણ પામશે.”
