< Isaiah 29 >
1 Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals come round.
Arieli, o wee Arieli, wee itũũra inene kũrĩa Daudi aatũũraga, kaĩ ũrĩ na haaro-ĩ! Ongerera mwaka kũrĩ mwaka ũngĩ, na mũreke ciathĩ cianyu ithiĩ o na mbere.
2 But I will besiege Ariel, and she will be mourning and lamenting; and she will be to me like Ariel.
No nĩngarigiicĩria itũũra rĩa Arieli; nĩrĩkarĩra na rĩcakaye, na rĩgaatuĩka ta riiko rĩa kĩgongona harĩ niĩ.
3 I will encamp against you in a circle and will lay siege against you with a palisade, and I will raise siege works against you.
Nĩngamba hema ciakwa ngũrigiicĩrie; nĩngagũthiũrũrũkĩria na mĩthiringo mĩraihu na igũrũ, ngũrigiicĩrie na ihumbu cia tĩĩri, ngũtharĩkĩre.
4 You will be brought down and will speak from the ground; your speech will be low from the dust. Your voice will sound like a spirit that speaks from the ground, and out of the dust your speech will whisper.
5 The great number of your invaders will become like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones as chaff that passes away. It will happen suddenly, in an instant.
No rĩrĩ, thũ ciaku nyingĩ ĩgaatuĩka ta rũkũngũ rũhinyu, na kĩrĩndĩ kĩa andũ arĩa matarĩ tha matuĩke ta mũũngũ ũrĩa ũmbũragwo. Ũndũ ũcio ũkooneka na ihenya, o rĩmwe,
6 Yahweh of hosts will come to you with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with strong winds and violent storm, and the flames of a devouring fire.
amu Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe nĩagooka na marurumĩ, na gĩthingithia, na mũrurumo mũnene, hamwe na rũhuho rũnene, na kĩhuhũkanio kĩnene, na nĩnĩmbĩ cia mwaki ũkũniinana.
7 It will be like a dream, a vision of the night: A horde of all the nations will fight against Ariel and her stronghold. They will attack her and her fortifications to press upon her.
Nakĩo kĩrĩndĩ kĩa ndũrĩrĩ ciothe kĩrĩa kĩrũaga na Arieli, kĩrĩa gĩtharĩkagĩra itũũra rĩu na ciĩhitho ciarĩo iria nũmu, na gĩkarĩthiũrũrũkĩria-rĩ, gĩkaabuĩria o ta kĩroto, o ta kĩoneki kĩa ũtukũ:
8 It will be like when a hungry man dreams he is eating, but when he awakes, his stomach is empty. It will be like when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he when he awakes, he is fainting, with his thirst not quenched. Yes, so will be the great number of nations that fights against Mount Zion.
o ta ũrĩa mũndũ mũhũtu arootaga, akeyona akĩrĩa irio, no rĩrĩa okĩra, agakora no mũhũtu; ningĩ gũgaatuĩka o ta ũrĩa mũndũ mũnyootu arootaga, akeyona akĩnyua maaĩ, no agokĩra arĩ mũringĩku, na arĩ o mũnyootu. Ũguo noguo gũgaikara harĩ kĩrĩndĩ kĩa ndũrĩrĩ ciothe iria irũaga na Kĩrĩma gĩa Zayuni.
9 Astonish yourselves and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not with wine; stagger, but not with beer.
Gegearai na mũmake, mwĩtuei atumumu na mwage kuona; mũnyue mũrĩĩo, no mũtikarĩĩo nĩ ndibei, ningĩ mũtũgũũge, no mũtigatũgũũgio nĩ njoohi.
10 For Yahweh has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep. He has closed your eyes, the prophets, and has covered your heads, the seers.
Jehova nĩamũreheire toro mũnene: nĩahingĩte maitho manyu (inyuĩ anabii); nĩahumbĩrĩte mĩtwe yanyu (inyuĩ ooni-maũndũ).
11 All revelation has become to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men might give to one who is learned, saying, “Read this.” He also says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
Naguo ũhoro wa kĩoneki gĩkĩ gĩothe harĩ inyuĩ ũtuĩkĩte kĩndũ gĩa tũhũ, ũgatuĩka ta ciugo irĩ ibuku-inĩ rĩa gĩkũnjo, rĩtumĩtwo na rĩkahũũrwo mũhũũri. Na mũngĩnengera mũndũ ũngĩhota gũthoma ibuku rĩu rĩa gĩkũnjo na mũmwĩre atĩrĩ, “Twagũthaitha, tũthomere ibuku rĩĩrĩ,” nake akaamũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ndingĩhota gũthoma tondũ nĩitume na rĩkahũũrwo mũhũũri.”
12 If the book is given to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”
Kana mũngĩnengera mũndũ ũtangĩhota gũthoma ibuku rĩu rĩa gĩkũnjo, mũmwĩre atĩrĩ, “Twagũthaitha, tũthomere ibuku rĩĩrĩ,” nake akaamũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Niĩ ndiũĩ gũthoma.”
13 The Lord said, “This people comes close to me with their mouths and honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Their honor for me is only a commandment of men that has been taught.
Mwathani ekuuga atĩrĩ: “Andũ aya manguhagĩrĩria na tũnua twao, na makaahe gĩtĩĩo na mĩromo yao, no ngoro ciao irĩ kũraya na niĩ. Namo mahooya marĩa mahooyaga nĩ kũringana na mawatho marĩa marutĩtwo nĩ andũ.
14 Therefore, see, I will proceed to do a marvelous thing among this people, wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will disappear.”
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, o rĩngĩ nĩngagegia andũ aya, njĩke maũndũ ma kũgegania, o ma kũgegania biũ; ũũgĩ wa andũ arĩa oogĩ nĩũgaathira, naguo ũmenyo wa andũ arĩa moĩ gũkũũrana maũndũ nĩũkabuĩria.”
15 Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in darkness. They say, “Who sees us, and who knows us?”
Kaĩ andũ acio mekagĩra kĩyo kĩnene nĩguo mahithe Jehova mĩbango yao marĩ na haaro-ĩ! O acio marutagĩra mawĩra mao nduma-inĩ, mageciiria atĩrĩ, “Nũũ ũratuona?” ningĩ-rĩ, “Nũũ ũngĩmenya ũrĩa tũreka?”
16 You turn things upside down! Should the potter be considered like clay, so that the thing that is made should say about him who made it, “He did not make me,” or the thing formed say about him who formed it, “He does not understand”?
Inyuĩ mũinamanagia maũndũ, mũũmbi ageciirĩrio nĩwe rĩũmba! Kĩrĩa kĩombirwo no kĩĩre mũkĩũmbi atĩrĩ, “Wee tiwe wanyũũmbire”? Nyũngũ no ĩĩre mũmĩũmbi atĩrĩ, “Wee ndũrĩ ũndũ ũũĩ”?
17 In just a little while, Lebanon will be turned into a field, and the field will become a forest.
Githĩ ti kahinda kanini gatigaire Lebanoni kũgarũrwo gũtuĩke mũgũnda mũnoru, naguo mũgũnda ũcio mũnoru ũtuĩke ta mũtitũ?
18 On that day the deaf will hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of the deep darkness.
Mũthenya ũcio, andũ arĩa mataiguaga nĩmakaigua ciugo cia ibuku rĩu rĩa gĩkũnjo, namo maitho ma atumumu arĩa matũũraga moonaga mairia na nduma nĩmakona.
19 The oppressed will again rejoice in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
Na o rĩngĩ andũ arĩa ahooreri nĩmagakenera Jehova; nao andũ arĩa athĩĩni nĩmagakenera Ũrĩa Mũtheru wa Isiraeli.
20 For the ruthless will cease, and the scoffer will vanish. All those who love to do evil will be eliminated,
Andũ arĩa matarĩ tha nĩmakabuĩria, nao arĩa anyũrũrania nĩmagathira, na arĩa meriragĩria gwĩka ũũru nĩmakaniinwo:
21 who by a word make a man out to be an offender. They lay a snare for him who seeks justice at the gate and put the righteous down with empty lies.
o acio mahũthagĩra kiugo kĩmwe magatua mũndũ mũhĩtia, na makaigĩra mũciiranĩrĩri mũtego iciirĩro-inĩ, na makahũthĩra ũira wa maheeni nĩguo mũndũ ũtekĩte ũũru aage gũtuĩrwo ciira na kĩhooto.
22 Therefore this is what Yahweh says concerning the house of Jacob—Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, “Jacob will no longer be ashamed, nor will his face be pale.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Jehova ũrĩa wahonokirie Iburahĩmu ekwĩra nyũmba ya Jakubu atĩrĩ: “Jakubu ndagaaconorithio rĩngĩ; na matigacooka gũtukia ithiithi ciao rĩngĩ.
23 But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, they will make my name holy. They will make holy the name of the Holy One of Jacob and they will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
24 Those who err in spirit will gain understanding, and complainers will learn knowledge.”
Andũ arĩa ngoro ciao imahĩtithagia nĩmakaagĩa na ũmenyo, nao arĩa matetaga nĩmagathikĩrĩria mataaro.”
