Isaiah 27
1 On that day Yahweh with his hard, great and fierce sword will punish Leviathan the slithering serpent, Leviathan the squirming serpent, and he will kill the monster that is in the sea.
En aquel día, Yahvé, con su espada dura, grande y fuerte, castigará al leviatán, la serpiente que huye, y al leviatán, la serpiente retorcida; y matará al dragón que está en el mar.
2 In that day: A vineyard of wine, sing of it.
En ese día, cántale: “¡Una viña agradable!
3 “I, Yahweh, am its protector; I water it every moment. I guard it night and day so no one will hurt it.
Yo, Yahvé, soy su guardián. La regaré a cada momento. Para que nadie la dañe, la guardaré de noche y de día.
4 I am not angry, Oh, that there were briers and thorns! In battle I would march against them; I would burn them all together;
No hay ira en mí, pero si encontrara cardos y espinas, ¡haría la batalla! Marcharía sobre ellos y los quemaría juntos.
5 unless they grasp my protection and make peace with me; let them make peace with me.
O bien, que se apodere de mi fuerza, para que haga las paces conmigo. Que haga las paces conmigo”.
6 In the coming day, Jacob will take root; Israel will blossom and bud; and they will fill the surface of the ground with fruit.”
En los días venideros, Jacob echará raíces. Israel florecerá y brotará. Llenarán de frutos la superficie del mundo.
7 Has Yahweh attacked Jacob and Israel as he attacked those nations who attacked them? Have Jacob and Israel been killed as in the slaughter of those nations that were killed by them?
¿Los ha golpeado como golpeó a los que los golpearon? ¿O los ha matado como mató a los que los mataron?
8 In exact measure you have contended, sending Jacob and Israel away; he drove them away with his fierce breath in the day of the east wind.
En la medida en que los expulsa, contiende con ellos. Los ha eliminado con su áspera ráfaga en el día del viento del este.
9 So in this way, the iniquity of Jacob will be atoned for, for this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin: when he will make all the altar stones as chalk and crushed to pieces, and no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.
Por tanto, con esto será perdonada la iniquidad de Jacob, y éste es todo el fruto de la remoción de su pecado: que él haga que todas las piedras del altar sean como piedras de tiza desmenuzadas, de modo que los postes de Asera y los altares de incienso no se levanten más.
10 For the fortified city is desolate, the habitation is deserted and forsaken like the wilderness. There a calf feeds, and there he lies down and consumes its branches.
Porque la ciudad fortificada es solitaria, una morada desierta y abandonada, como el desierto. El becerro se alimentará allí, y allí se acostará, y consumirá sus ramas.
11 When the boughs are withered, they will be broken off. Women will come and make fires with them, for this is not a people of understanding. Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them, and he who made them will not be merciful to them.
Cuando sus ramas se marchiten, serán cortadas. Las mujeres vendrán y les prenderán fuego, porque son un pueblo sin entendimiento. Por eso el que los hizo no tendrá compasión de ellos, y el que los formó no les mostrará ningún favor.
12 It will come about on that day that Yahweh will thresh from the Euphrates River to the Wadi of Egypt and you, the people of Israel, will be gathered together one by one.
Sucederá en ese día que Yahvé trillará desde la corriente del Éufrates hasta el arroyo de Egipto; y ustedes serán reunidos uno por uno, hijos de Israel.
13 On that day a great trumpet will be blown; and the perishing ones in the land of Assyria will come, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, they will worship Yahweh on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
Sucederá en ese día que se tocará una gran trompeta; y vendrán los que estaban listos para perecer en la tierra de Asiria, y los que estaban desterrados en la tierra de Egipto, y adorarán a Yahvé en el monte santo de Jerusalén.
