Isaiah 27
1 On that day Yahweh with his hard, great and fierce sword will punish Leviathan the slithering serpent, Leviathan the squirming serpent, and he will kill the monster that is in the sea.
An jenem Tage wird Jahwe mit seinem harten und großen und starken Schwerte den Leviathan, die flüchtige Schlange, und den Leviathan, die gewundene Schlange, heimsuchen und den Drachen im Meere töten.
2 In that day: A vineyard of wine, sing of it.
An jenem Tage singt von einem lieblichen Weinberg:
3 “I, Yahweh, am its protector; I water it every moment. I guard it night and day so no one will hurt it.
Ich, Jahwe, bin sein Hüter. Aller Augenblicke wässere ich ihn. Damit sich niemand an ihm vergreife, will ich ihn nachts wie am Tage behüten.
4 I am not angry, Oh, that there were briers and thorns! In battle I would march against them; I would burn them all together;
Zorn fühle ich nicht mehr! Fände ich nur Dornen, Gestrüpp - im Kampfe wollte ich darauf losgehen, alles in Brand setzen!
5 unless they grasp my protection and make peace with me; let them make peace with me.
Es sei denn, daß man sich in meinen Schutz begäbe, daß man Frieden mit mir machte, mit mir Frieden machte.
6 In the coming day, Jacob will take root; Israel will blossom and bud; and they will fill the surface of the ground with fruit.”
In Zukunft wird Jakob Wurzel schlagen, Israel blühen und treiben, daß sie den Erdkreis mit Früchten füllen.
7 Has Yahweh attacked Jacob and Israel as he attacked those nations who attacked them? Have Jacob and Israel been killed as in the slaughter of those nations that were killed by them?
Hat er es etwa gepeinigt, wie er seinen Peiniger gepeinigt hat? Oder ward es hingemordet, wie seine Mörder hingemordet wurden?
8 In exact measure you have contended, sending Jacob and Israel away; he drove them away with his fierce breath in the day of the east wind.
Nein! Durch ihre Verstoßung, durch ihre Entlassung rechtetest du mit ihr. Durch seinen heftigen Sturm hat er sie hinausgeschafft, als der Ostwind wehte.
9 So in this way, the iniquity of Jacob will be atoned for, for this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin: when he will make all the altar stones as chalk and crushed to pieces, and no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.
Darum wird damit die Missethat Jakobs gesühnt, und wird das die volle Frucht seiner Entsündigung sein, daß er alle Altarsteine zerschlagenen Kalksteinen gleicht macht, daß sich Ascheren und Sonnensäulen icht mehr erheben.
10 For the fortified city is desolate, the habitation is deserted and forsaken like the wilderness. There a calf feeds, and there he lies down and consumes its branches.
Denn die feste Stadt liegt einsam, als eine entvölkerte und verlassene Stätte gleich der Steppe. Dort weiden und dort lagern Kälber und fressen seine Büsche ab.
11 When the boughs are withered, they will be broken off. Women will come and make fires with them, for this is not a people of understanding. Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them, and he who made them will not be merciful to them.
Wenn deren Zweige verdorren, werden sie abgebrochen; Weiber kommen herzu, zünden sie an. Denn es ist ein Volk ohne Einsicht. Deshalb erbarmt sich sein Schöpfer seiner nicht und sein Urheber begnadigt es nicht.
12 It will come about on that day that Yahweh will thresh from the Euphrates River to the Wadi of Egypt and you, the people of Israel, will be gathered together one by one.
An jenem Tage wird Jahwe Körner ausklopfen vom Euphratstrome bis zum Bach Ägyptens; ihr aber werdet einzeln aufgelesen werden, ihr Söhne Israels!
13 On that day a great trumpet will be blown; and the perishing ones in the land of Assyria will come, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, they will worship Yahweh on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
An jenem Tage wird die große Posaune geblasen werden, daß alle, die sich in Assyrien verloren haben und die nach Ägypten verstoßen wurden, heimkommen und Jahwe auf dem heiligen Berge zu Jerusalem anbeten.
