Hosea 9
1 Do not rejoice, Israel, with joy like the other peoples. For you have been unfaithful, forsaking your God. You love to pay the wages a prostitute requires on all the threshing floors.
Nni ahurisie, Ao Israel; nsɛpɛ wo ho te sɛ aman a aka no. Ɛfiri sɛ woanni wo Onyankopɔn nokorɛ, wʼani gye adwamammɔ ho wɔ ayuporobea nyinaa so.
2 But the threshing floor and the winepress will not feed them; the new wine will fail them.
Ayuporobea ne nsakyimena rentumi mma nnipa no aduane; nsã foforɔ nso bɛbɔ wɔn.
3 They will not continue to live in Yahweh's land; instead, Ephraim will return to Egypt, and one day they will eat unclean food in Assyria.
Wɔrentena Awurade asase no so bio; Efraim bɛsane akɔ Misraim na wadi aduane a ɛho nteɛ wɔ Asiria.
4 They will pour out no wine offerings to Yahweh, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like mourners' food: all who eat it will be defiled. For their food will be for themselves only; it will not come into the house of Yahweh.
Wɔremmɔ ahwiesa afɔdeɛ mma Awurade, na wɔn afɔrebɔ nso nsɔ nʼani. Saa afɔrebɔ yi bɛyɛ sɛ aduane a ayiasefoɔ de wɔn nsa aka; wɔn a wɔdi nyinaa ho bɛgu fi. Saa aduane no bɛyɛ wɔn ankasa dea na wɔrentumi mmfa nkɔ Awurade asɔredan mu.
5 What will you do on the day of an appointed festival, on the day of a festival for Yahweh?
Ɛdeɛn na mobɛyɛ wɔ mo apontoɔ da no ne Awurade afahyɛ nna no nso?
6 For, look, if they escape from destruction, Egypt will gather them, and Memphis will bury them. As for their treasures of silver— sharp briers will possess them, and thorns will fill their tents.
Mpo sɛ wɔdwane firi ɔsɛeɛ mu a Misraim bɛboaboa wɔn ano, na Memfis bɛsie wɔn. Wɔn dwetɛ ahonyadeɛ bɛfu wira, na wɔn ntomadan adane nkasɛɛ.
7 The days for punishment are coming; the days for retribution are coming. Let all Israel know these things. The prophet is a fool, and the inspired man is insane, because of your great iniquity and great hostility.
Asotwe nna no reba, akontabuo nna no aduru; ma Israel nhunu yei. Esiane mo bɔne bebrebe ne mo akokoakoko a adɔɔso enti mofa no sɛ odiyifoɔ yɛ kwasea na deɛ honhom akanyane noɔ no yɛ ɔbɔdamfoɔ.
8 The prophet is the watchman for my God over Ephraim. But a bird snare is on all of his paths, and hostility toward him is in the house of his God.
Odiyifoɔ no ne me Onyankopɔn yɛ Efraim so wɛmfoɔ, nanso wɔasum no afidie wɔ nʼakwan nyinaa so, na ɔtane ahyɛ ne Onyankopɔn fie ma.
9 They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah. God will call to mind their iniquity, and he will punish their sins.
Wɔaduru porɔeɛ bunu mu, sɛdeɛ na ɛteɛ wɔ Gibea nna no mu. Onyankopɔn bɛkae wɔn atirimuɔden na watwe wɔn aso wɔ wɔn bɔne ho.
10 Yahweh says, “When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the wilderness. Like the very first fruit of the season on the fig tree, I found your fathers. But they went to Baal Peor, and they devoted themselves to that shameful idol. They became as detestable as the idol they loved.
“Ɛberɛ a mehunuu Israel no, na ɛte sɛ deɛ mahunu bobe wɔ anweatam so; ɛberɛ a mehunuu mo agyanom no, na ɛte sɛ deɛ mahunu borɔdɔma aba a ɛdi ɛkan wɔ ne dua so. Nanso ɛberɛ a wɔbaa Baal-peor nkyɛn no wɔdwiraa wɔn ho maa ohoni nimguaseni no. Wɔn ho yɛɛ abofono te sɛ ohoni a wɔdɔ no no.
11 As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, no pregnancy, and no conception.
Efraim animuonyam bɛtu akɔ sɛ anomaa, nyinsɛn ne awoɔ nni ne mu.
12 Though they have brought up children, I will take them away so that none of them is left. Woe to them when I turn away from them!
Mpo sɛ wɔtete mmɔfra a, mɛma mmɔfra no awuwu wɔ wɔn nsa mu. Wɔnnue, sɛ meyi mʼani firi wɔn so a!
13 I have seen Ephraim, just like Tyre, planted in a meadow, but Ephraim will bring out his children to someone who will slaughter them.”
Mahunu Efraim te sɛ Tiro, a ɛda baabi a ɛyɛ. Nanso Efraim de ne mma bɛbrɛ okumfoɔ no.”
14 Give them, Yahweh—what will you give them? Give them a miscarrying womb and breasts that give no milk.
Fa ma wɔn, Ao, Awurade, ɛdeɛn na wode bɛma wɔn? Ma wɔn yafunu a ɛpɔn ne nufoɔ a nufosuo nni muo.
15 “Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, that is where I began to hate them. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no more; all their officials are rebels.
“Wɔn atirimuɔdensɛm nyinaa a wɔdii wɔ Gilgal enti, mefaa wɔn ho tan wɔ hɔ. Wɔn nnebɔne enti mɛpam wɔn afiri me fie. Merennɔ wɔn bio; ɛfiri sɛ wɔn ntuanofoɔ nyinaa yɛ atuatefoɔ.
16 Ephraim is diseased, and their root is dried up; they bear no fruit. Even if they have children, I will put their beloved children to death.”
Efraim agyigya, ne nhini akusa, enti wɔnso aba. Sɛ wɔwo mma mpo a, mɛkunkum wɔn mma a wɔdɔ wɔn no.”
17 My God will reject them because they have not obeyed him. They will become wanderers among the nations.
Me Onyankopɔn bɛpo wɔn, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔannyɛ ɔsetie amma no; Wɔbɛkyinkyini aman no mu.
