Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of Yahweh came by the hand of Haggai the prophet to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and to the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, saying,
௧ராஜாவாகிய தரியு அரசாண்ட இரண்டாம் வருடம் ஆறாம் மாதம் முதலாம்தேதியிலே, யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை ஆகாய் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியின் மூலமாக செயல்தியேலின் மகனாகிய செருபாபேல் என்னும் யூதாவின் தலைவனுக்கும், யோத்சதாக்கின் மகனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுக்கும் உண்டாகி, அவர் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்:
2 “Yahweh of hosts says this: These people say, 'It is not time for us to come or to build Yahweh's house.'”
௨இந்த மக்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுகிறதற்கு ஏற்றகாலம் இன்னும் வரவில்லை என்கிறார்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
3 Then the word of Yahweh came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
௩ஆனாலும் ஆகாய் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியின் மூலமாகக் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை உண்டாகி, அவர் சொல்லுகிறார்:
4 “Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your finished houses, while this house lies ruined?
௪இந்த வீடு பாழாய்க்கிடக்கும்போது, நீங்கள் மேல்தளமுள்ள உங்கள் வீடுகளில் குடியிருக்கவேண்டிய காலம் இதுவோ?
5 So now Yahweh of hosts says this: Consider your ways!
௫இப்போதும் சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்: உங்கள் வழிகளைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள்.
6 You have sown much seed, but bring in little harvest; you eat but do not have enough; you drink but cannot get drunk. You wear clothes but cannot warm yourselves, and the wage earner earns money only to put it into a bag full of holes!
௬நீங்கள் அதிகமாக விதைத்தும் கொஞ்சமாக அறுத்துக்கொண்டுவருகிறீர்கள்; நீங்கள் சாப்பிட்டும் திருப்தியாகவில்லை; குடித்தும் நிறைவடையவில்லை; நீங்கள் உடை உடுத்தியும் ஒருவனுக்கும் குளிர்விடவில்லை; கூலியைச் சம்பாதிக்கிறவன் பொத்தலான பையிலே போடுகிறவனாக அதைச் சம்பாதிக்கிறான்.
7 Yahweh of hosts says this: “Consider your ways!
௭உங்கள் வழிகளைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
8 Go up to the mountain, bring timber, and build my house; then I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified!—says Yahweh.”
௮நீங்கள் மலையின்மேல் ஏறிப்போய், மரங்களை வெட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுங்கள்; அதின்மேல் நான் பிரியமாயிருப்பேன், அதினால் என் மகிமை வெளிப்படும் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
9 “You looked for much, but behold! you have brought little home, for I blew it away! Why?” declares Yahweh of hosts. “Because my house lies in ruins, while every one of you is working on his own house.
௯அதிகமாக வருமென்று நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தும், இதோ, கொஞ்சம் கிடைத்தது; நீங்கள் அறுத்து வீட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தும், நான் அதை ஊதிப்போடுகிறேன்; எதினாலென்றால், என் வீடு பாழாய்க் கிடக்கும்போது, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் அவனவன் தன்தன் வீட்டிற்கு ஓடிப்போகிறீர்களே, இதனாலே என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
10 Because of this the heavens withhold the dew from you, and the earth withholds its produce.
௧0ஆதலால் உங்கள்மேல் இருக்கிற வானம் பனியைப் பெய்யாமலும், பூமி பலனைக் கொடுக்காமலும் போனது.
11 I have summoned a drought upon the land and upon the mountains, upon the grain and upon the new wine, upon the oil and upon the harvest of the earth, upon men and upon beasts, and upon all the labor of your hands!”
௧௧நான் நிலத்தின்மேலும், மலைகளின்மேலும், தானியத்தின்மேலும், புது திராட்சைரசத்தின்மேலும், எண்ணெயின்மேலும், பூமியில் விளைகிற எல்லாவற்றின்மேலும், மனிதர்களின்மேலும், மிருகங்களின்மேலும், கைவேலை அனைத்தின்மேலும் வறட்சியை வருவித்தேன் என்றார்.
12 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, along with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Yahweh their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, because Yahweh their God had sent him and the people feared the face of Yahweh.
௧௨அப்பொழுது செயல்தியேலின் மகனாகிய செருபாபேலும், யோத்சதாக்கின் மகனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் பிரதான ஆசாரியனும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களில் மீதியான அனைவரும் தங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய சத்தத்திற்கும், தங்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அனுப்பின ஆகாய் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியினுடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்கும் செவிகொடுத்தார்கள், மக்கள் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாகப் பயந்திருந்தார்கள்.
13 Then Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, spoke Yahweh's message to the people and said, “I am with you!—this is Yahweh's declaration!”
௧௩அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனாகிய ஆகாய், யெகோவா தூதனுப்பிய வார்த்தையின்படி மக்களை நோக்கி: நான் உங்களோடே இருக்கிறேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.
14 So Yahweh stirred up the spirit of the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and the spirit of the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, so that they went and worked on the house of Yahweh of hosts, their God
௧௪பின்பு யெகோவா செயல்தியேலின் மகனாகிய செருபாபேல் என்னும் யூதாவின் தலைவனுடைய ஆவியையும், யோத்சதாக்கின் மகனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய ஆவியையும் மக்களில் மீதியான எல்லோருடைய ஆவியையும் எழுப்பினார்; அவர்கள் வந்து, தங்கள் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளுடைய யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திலே வேலைசெய்தார்கள்.
15 in the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
௧௫தரியு ராஜாவின் ஆட்சியின் இரண்டாம் வருடம் ஆறாம் மாதம் இருபத்து நான்காம் தேதியிலே இது நடந்தது.
