Genesis 25
1 Abraham took another wife; her name was Keturah.
Y Abraham tomó otra mujer, cuyo nombre fue Cetura:
2 She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
La cual le parió a Zamram, y a Jecsán, y a Madán, y a Madián, y a Jesboc, y a Sue.
3 Jokshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan. The descendants of Dedan were the Assyrian people, the Letush people, and the Leum people.
Y Jecsán engendró a Saba, y a Dadán; e hijos de Dadán fueron Assurim, y Latussim, y Laomim.
4 Midian's sons were Ephah, Epher, Hanok, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were Keturah's descendants.
E hijos de Madián; Efa, y Efer, y Jenoc, y Abida, y Eldaa. Todos estos fueron hijos de Cetura.
5 Abraham gave all that he owned to Isaac.
Y Abraham dio todo lo que tenía a Isaac.
6 However, while he was still living, he gave gifts to the sons of his concubines and sent them to the land of the east, away from Isaac, his son.
Y a los hijos de sus concubinas dio Abraham dones: y envióles de junto a Isaac su hijo, mientras él vivió, al oriente, a la tierra oriental.
7 These were the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, 175 years.
Estos empero fueron los días de la vida de Abraham que vivió ciento y setenta y cinco años.
8 Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man with a full life, and he was gathered to his people.
Y espiró y murió Abraham en buena vejez, viejo, y harto de días, y fue agregado a sus pueblos.
9 Isaac and Ishmael, his sons, buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite, which is near Mamre.
Y sepultáronle Isaac e Ismael sus hijos en la cueva doble, en la heredad de Efrón hijo de Seor Jetteo, que estaba en frente de Mamré:
10 This field Abraham had bought from the sons of Heth. Abraham was buried there with Sarah his wife.
La heredad que compró Abraham de los hijos de Jet; allí está sepultado y Sara su mujer.
11 After the death of Abraham, God blessed Isaac his son, and Isaac lived near Beer Lahai Roi.
Y fue, que después de muerto Abraham, bendijo Dios a Isaac su hijo: y habitó Isaac junto al pozo del Viviente que me ve.
12 Now these were the descendants of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's servant, bore to Abraham.
Y estas son las generaciones de Ismael hijo de Abraham, que parió Agar Egipcia, sierva de Sara, a Abraham.
13 These were the names of Ishmael's sons, according to their birth order: Nebaioth—the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
Estos pues son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael por sus nombres, por sus linajes. El primogénito de Ismael, Nabajot; y Cedar, y Adbeel, y Mabsam,
14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
Y Masma, y Duma, y Massa,
15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
Hadar, y Tema, y Jetur, y Nafis, y Cedma:
16 These were Ishmael's sons, and these were their names, by their villages, and by their encampments; twelve princes according to their tribes.
Estos son los hijos de Ismael; y estos son sus nombres por sus villas y por sus palacios; doce príncipes por sus familias.
17 These were the years of the life of Ishmael, 137 years. He breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.
Y estos fueron los años de la vida de Ismael, ciento y treinta y siete años: y espiró y murió Ismael, y fue agregado a sus pueblos.
18 They lived from Havilah to Ashhur, which is near Egypt, as one goes toward Assyria. They lived in hostility with each other.
Y habitaron desde Hevila hasta el Sur, que está en frente de Egipto viniendo a Assur: delante de todos sus hermanos cayó.
19 These were the events concerning Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham became the father of Isaac.
Y estas fueron las generaciones de Isaac, hijo de Abraham: Abraham engendró a Isaac:
20 Isaac was forty years old when he took as his wife Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean.
Y era Isaac de cuarenta años cuando tomó a Rebeca, hija de Batuel Arameo de Padan-aram, hermana de Labán Arameo, por su mujer.
21 Isaac prayed to Yahweh for his wife because she was childless, and Yahweh answered his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Y oró Isaac a Jehová por su mujer que era estéril; y aceptólo Jehová, y concibió Rebeca su mujer.
22 The children struggled together within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” She went to ask Yahweh about this.
Y los hijos se combatían dentro de ella, y dijo: Si así había de ser, ¿para qué vivo yo? Y fue a consultar a Jehová.
23 Yahweh said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples will be separated from within you. One people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”
Y respondióle Jehová: Dos naciones hay en tu vientre, y dos pueblos serán divididos de tus entrañas; mas el un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro pueblo, y el mayor servirá al menor.
24 When it was time for her to give birth, behold, there were twins in her womb.
Y como se cumplieron sus días para parir, he aquí mellizos en su vientre.
25 The first child came out red all over like a hairy garment. They called his name Esau.
Y salió el primero bermejo, y todo él velludo como una ropa; y llamaron su nombre Esaú.
26 After that, his brother came out. His hand was grasping Esau's heel. He was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when his wife bore them.
Y después salió su hermano, trabada su mano al calcañar de Esaú: y fue llamado su nombre Jacob. Y era Isaac de edad de sesenta años cuando Rebeca los parió.
27 The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a quiet man, who spent his time in the tents.
Y crecieron los niños; y Esaú fue varón sabio en la caza, hombre del campo: Jacob empero era varón sincero, que estaba en las tiendas.
28 Now Isaac loved Esau because he ate the animals that he had hunted, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
Y amó Isaac a Esaú, porque comía de su caza. Mas Rebeca amaba a Jacob.
29 Jacob cooked some stew. Esau came in from the field, and he was weak from hunger.
Y guisó Jacob un guisado: y volviendo Esaú del campo cansado,
30 Esau said to Jacob, “Feed me with that red stew. Please, I am exhausted!” That is why his name was called Edom.
Dijo Esaú a Jacob: Ruégote que me des a comer de eso bermejo, eso bermejo, que estoy cansado. Por tanto fue llamado su nombre, Edom.
31 Jacob said, “First sell me your birthright.”
Y Jacob respondió: Véndeme hoy en este día tu primogenitura.
32 Esau said, “Look, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?”
Entonces dijo Esaú: He aquí, yo me voy a morir, ¿para qué pues me servirá la primogenitura?
33 Jacob said, “First swear to me,” so Esau swore an oath and in that way he sold his birthright to Jacob.
Y dijo Jacob: Júrame hoy en este día. Y él le juró, y vendió su primogenitura a Jacob.
34 Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils. He ate and drank, then got up and went on his way. In this manner Esau despised his birthright.
Entonces Jacob dio a Esaú del pan, y del guisado de las lantejas; y él comió, y bebió, y levantóse, y fuése. Y así menospreció Esaú la primogenitura.
