< Ezra 9 >
1 When these things were done, the officials approached me and said, “The people of Israel, the priests, and the Levites have not separated themselves from the people of the other lands and their abominations: Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians, and Amorites.
Aa ie niheneke, le niheo mb’ amako mb’eo o roandriañeo nanao ty hoe: Mboe tsy miavak’ am’ondati’ o taneo o nte-Israeleo naho o mpisoroñeo vaho o nte-Levio, ty amo haloloa’ o nte-Kanàneo, o nte-Kiteo, o nte Perizeo, o nte-Iebosio, o nte-Amoneo, o nte-Moabeo, o nte-Mitsraimeo vaho o nte-Amoreo.
2 For they have taken some of their daughters and sons, and have mixed the holy people with the people of other lands, and the officials and leaders have been first in this faithlessness.”
Ie nañenga amo anak’ ampela’ iareoo ho am-bata’e naho ho amo ana-dahi’eo; aa le mitraok’ am’ondati’ i taneio i tiry miavakey; eka, toe lohà’e amy tsy figahiñañe zay ty fità’ o roandriañeo naho o mpiaoloo.
3 When I heard this, I tore apart my clothing and robe and pulled out hair from my head and beard, and I sat down, devastated.
Ie nahatsanoñe izay iraho le riniako i sarokoy naho i sarimbokoy naho nañonotse ty volon-dohako naho ty somako vaho nitoboke an-kasalarañe.
4 All those who trembled at the words of the God of Israel about this faithlessness gathered to me while I was sitting ashamed until the evening offering.
Nivory amako ze hene mpinevenevetse amo tsaran’ Añahare’ Israeleo ty amy tsy figahiña’ o tam-pandrohizañeo; le nitoboke eo avao iraho ami’ty hadabàko ampara’ i fisoroñan-karivay.
5 But at the evening offering I arose from my position of humiliation in my torn clothes and robe, and knelt down and spread my hands to Yahweh my God.
Le niongak’ amy fisoroñan-karivay iraho, ie riatse i sarokoy naho i sarimbokoy; le nivarahotrak’ añ’ongoko eo nañiti-tàñañe amy Iehovà Andrianañahareko
6 I said, “My God, I am ashamed and disgraced to raise my face to you, for our iniquities increase over our head, and our guilt grows to the heavens.
nanao ty hoe: O Andrianañahareko, salatse iraho, meñatse tsy mahaandra’ tarehe ama’o, ry Andrianañahareko; fa mitoabotse am-bonen’ añambone’ay ey o hakeo’aio vaho mitombo pak’ an-dikerañe añe o tahi’aio.
7 From the days of our ancestors until now we have been in great guilt. In our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests were given into the hand of kings of this world, to the sword, to captivity, and to plunder and ashamed faces, as we are today.
Toe niliforen-kakeo tañ’ andron-droae’ay ampara henaneo zahay, le o tahi’aio ty nanolorañe anay naho o mpanjaka’aio naho o mpisoro’aio am-pitàm-panjaka’ o taneo; am-pibara, an-drohy, am-pikopafañe naho an-kasalaran-daharañe manahake androany.
8 Yet now for a short time, mercy from Yahweh our God has come to leave us a few survivors and to give us a foothold in his holy place. This was for our God to enlighten our eyes and to give us a little relief in our slavery.
Ie vaho anianike te nihelañe eo ty fitretreza’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ay, nanisa ama’ay ty sehanga’e nipolititse, hitolora’e ty fantake an-toe’e miavakey, hañazavàn’ Añahare’ay o fihaino’aio hampisotratsotrake anay amo rohi’aio.
9 For we are slaves, but our God has not forgotten us but has extended covenant faithfulness to us. He has done this in the sight of the king of Persia in order to give us new strength, so we could rebuild our God's house and raise its ruins. He did this so that he could give us a wall of safety in Judah and Jerusalem.
Toe fetrek’ oron-jahay; fe tsy naforintsen’ Añahare’ay amy fandrohizañey, te mone niferenaiña’e am-pahaoniña’ o mpanjaka’ i Paraseo, hanolora’e fañavaòañe hampitroara’ay ty anjomban’ Añahare’ay, hampijohaña’ay o nianto ama’eo vaho nitolora’e kijolim-piarovañe e Iehodà naho e Ierosalaime ao.
10 But now, our God, what can we say after this? We have forgotten your commands,
Aa ie henanekeo ry Andrianañahare’ay, ino ty hanoe’ay? kanao nifarie’ay o lili’oo,
11 the commands that you gave to your servants the prophets, when you said, “This land that you are entering to possess is an unclean land. It is contaminated by the people of the lands with their abominations. They have filled it from one end to the other with their uncleanness.
o nandilia’o añamo mpitoky mpitoro’oo, ami’ ty hoe: Toe tane maleotse i tane ionjona’ areo ho tavaneñey, amo haleora’ ondati’ i taneio, amo haloloa’ iareoo; ie nampipeà’ iareo ama’e ty hativà’ iareo boak’ añ’efe’e sikal’ añ’ilae’e añe.
12 So now, do not give your daughters to their sons; do not take their daughters for your sons, and do not seek their ongoing peace and welfare, so that you will be strong and eat the good of the land, so you will cause your children to possess it for all time.”
Ie amy zao ko atolo’ areo amo ana-dahi’ iareoo o anak’ ampela’ areoo naho ko ampañenga’ areo o anak’ ampela’ iareoo o ana-dahi’ areoo; ko ipaia’ areo kitro-katroke ty fanintsiñañe ndra ty firaoraoañe; soa te ho fatratse nahareo hikama ty hasoa o taneo, hampandovà’ areo aze amo ana’ areoo nainai’e.
13 Yet after everything that came on us for our evil practices and our great guilt—since you, our God, have held back what our iniquities deserve and left us survivors—
Aa i hene nifetsak’ ama’ay ty amo sata-rati’aio naho o halòn-kakeo’ aioy naho te ihe, Andrianañahare’ay tsy nandafa anay mañeva o tahi’aio vaho natolo’o o sehanga’e zao,
14 should we again break your commandments and make mixed marriages with these abominable people? Will you not be angry and annihilate us so there will be no one left, no one to escape?
aa vaho hivalik’ amo lili’oo indraike zahay, hifanambaly am’ondaty mpanao i halò-tsere’e rezay? Tsy hiviñera’o ampara’ te nimongore’o, tsy aman-tsehanga’e, leo raike tsy hahapolititse?
15 Yahweh, God of Israel, you are righteous, for we have remained as a few survivors at this day. Look! We are here before you in our guilt, for there is no one who can stand before you because of this.
Vantan-dRehe ry Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israele; fa nanisàñe ama’ay o nahapolititseo, ie o androanio; hehe te miatrek’ Azo an-kakeo; leo raike tsy hahafitroatse añatrefa’o ty amo raha zao.
