Ezra 5
1 Then Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo the prophet prophesied in the name of the God of Israel to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem.
Тада Агеј пророк и Захарија, син Идов, пророк пророковаху Јудејцима који беху у Јудеји и у Јерусалиму у име Бога Израиљевог.
2 Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak rose up and began to build the house of God in Jerusalem with the prophets who supported them.
И уста Зоровавељ, син Салатилов и Исус син Јоседеков, и почеше опет зидати дом Божји у Јерусалиму, и беху с њима пророци Божји помажући им.
3 Then Tattenai the governor of the Province Beyond the River, Shethar-Bozenai, and his associates came and said to them, “Who gave you a decree to build this house and complete these walls?”
У то време дође к њима Татнај управитељ с ове стране реке, и Сетар-Воснај и другови њихови, и рекоше им овако: Ко вам је дао власт да зидате ту кућу и да оправљате те зидове?
4 They also said, “What are the names of the men building this building?”
Тада им одговорисмо именујући људе који грађаху ту грађевину.
5 But God's eye was on the Jewish elders and their enemies did not stop them. They were waiting for a letter to be sent to the king and for a decree to be returned to them concerning this.
Али беше око Божје на старешинама јудејским, те им не забранише докле не отиде ствар до Дарија и донесу одговор о том.
6 This is a copy of the letter of Tattenai, governor of the Province Beyond the River, and Shethar-Bozenai and his accociates in the Province Beyond the River, which they sent to Darius the king.
А ово је препис од књиге који посла цару Дарију Тантај, управитељ с ове стране реке и Сетар-Воснај с друговима својим Афарсашанима који беху с ове стране реке.
7 They sent a report, writing this to King Darius, “May all peace be yours.
Послаше му књигу, а у њој беше написано овако: Дарију цару свако добро.
8 Let the king know that we went to Judah to the house of the great God. It is being built with large stones and timbers set in the walls. This work is being done thoroughly and is going forward well in their hands.
Да је на знање цару да дођосмо у јудејску земљу к дому Бога великог, који зидају од великог камена, и дрвље мећу у зидове, и посао се брзо ради и напредује у рукама њиховим.
9 We asked the elders, 'Who gave you a decree to build this house and these walls?'
И запитасмо тамошње старешине рекавши им: Ко вам је дао власт да зидате тај дом и да оправљате те зидове?
10 We also asked them their names so you might know the name of each man who led them.
Па их и за имена њихова запитасмо да бисмо ти јавили, и записасмо имена оних који су главари међу њима.
11 They replied and said, 'We are servants of the one who is the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding this house that had been built many years ago when the great king of Israel built it and completed it.
А они нам одговорише овако говорећи: Ми смо слуге Бога небеског и земаљског, и зидамо дом који је био сазидан пре много времена, који је зидао и подигао велики цар Израиљев.
12 However, when our ancestors enraged the God of heaven, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house and took the people into exile in Babylon.
Али кад оци наши разгневише Бога небеског, даде их у руке Навуходоносору, цару вавилонском Халдејцу, који раскопа овај дом, а народ пресели у Вавилон.
13 Nevertheless, in the first year when Cyrus was king of Babylon, Cyrus issued a decree to rebuild the house of God.
Али прве године Кира, цара вавилонског, цар Кир заповеди да се сазида овај дом Божји.
14 King Cyrus also returned the gold and silver objects belonging to the house of God that Nebuchadnezzar had brought from the temple in Jerusalem to the temple in Babylon. He restored them to Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor.
Још и судове дома Божијег златне и сребрне које нам Навуходоносор беше узео из цркве јерусалимске и однео у цркву вавилонску, изнесе их цар Кир из цркве вавилонске, и бише дани по имену Сасавасару, ког постави управитељем,
15 He said to him, “Take these objects. Go and put them in the temple in Jerusalem. Let the house of God be rebuilt there.”
И рече му: Узми ове судове па иди и однеси их у цркву која је у Јерусалиму, и дом Божји нека се сазида на свом месту.
16 Then this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundation for the house of God in Jerusalem; and it is being constructed, but is not yet complete.'
Онда тај Сасавасар дође и постави темељ дому Божијем у Јерусалиму; и од тог времена досад зида се и још није довршен.
17 Now if it pleases the king, may it be investigated in the house of archives in Babylon if a judgment from King Cyrus exists there to build this house of God in Jerusalem. Then let the king send his decision to us.
Ако је дакле угодно цару, нека се потражи у ризници царској у Вавилону је ли цар Кир заповедио да се сазида овај дом Божји у Јерусалиму, и вољу своју о том нека нам цар пошаље.
