< Ezekiel 40 >
1 In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity at the beginning of the year on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was captured—on that same day, the hand of Yahweh was upon me and he took me there.
Ku ntandikwa ey’omwaka ogw’amakumi abiri mu etaano nga tuli mu buwaŋŋanguse, ku lunaku lw’omwezi ogw’ekkumi, oluvannyuma lw’emyaka kkumi n’ena ng’ekibuga kigudde, omukono gwa Mukama ne gunzikako ku lunaku olwo lwennyini, n’antwalayo.
2 In visions from God he brought me to the land of Israel. He brought me to rest on a very high mountain; to the south were what appeared to be buildings of a city.
Mu kwolesebwa, Katonda n’antwala mu nsi ya Isirayiri n’anteeka ku luuyi olw’Obukiikaddyo obw’olusozi oluwanvu ennyo okwali ebizimbe ebyali ng’ekibuga.
3 Then he brought me there. Behold, a man! His appearance was like the appearance of bronze. A linen cord and a measuring stick were in his hand, and he stood in the city gate.
N’antwala eyo, ne ndaba omusajja, ng’alabika ng’ayakolebwa mu kikomo, ng’ayimiridde mu mulyango ng’akutte omuguwa ogwa linena n’oluti olupima.
4 The man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and listen with your ears, and fix your mind on all that I am revealing to you, for you were brought here so I could reveal them to you. Report everything that you will see to the house of Israel.”
Omusajja n’aŋŋamba nti, “Omwana w’omuntu, tunula n’amaaso go owulire n’amatu go osseeyo omwoyo ku buli kye nnaakulaga, kyovudde oleetebwa wano. Byonna by’onoolaba obitegeeze ennyumba ya Isirayiri.”
5 There was a wall surrounding the temple area. The length of the measuring stick in the man's hand was six long cubits. Each long cubit was a cubit and a handbreadth in length. So he measured the wall, and it was one measuring stick thick and one rod high.
Ne ndaba bbugwe okwetooloola ekifo kya yeekaalu. Obuwanvu bw’oluti olupima olwali mu mukono gw’omusajja lwali emikono mukaaga, nga mita ssatu. Buli mukono gwali nga kitundu kya mita. N’apima bbugwe ng’omubiri gwayo mita ssatu, n’obugulumivu bwayo mita ssatu.
6 Then he went to the temple gate that faced east. He went up its steps and measured the threshold of the gate—one stick in depth.
Oluvannyuma n’alaga ku mulyango ogutunuulira Ebuvanjuba, n’alinnya amadaala n’apima omuziziko ogusooka ogw’omu mulyango, nga guli oluti lumu, ze mita ssatu.
7 The guard chambers were each one stick in length and one stick in width; there were five cubits between any two of the chambers, and the threshold of the temple gate by the temple portico was one stick deep.
N’obusenge obw’abakuumi bwali mita ssatu obuwanvu, n’obugazi mita ssatu, ng’ebbanga eryawula obusenge obwo liri mita bbiri n’ekitundu. Waaliwo n’omuziziko ogwokubiri. N’omuziziko ogwo gwali mita ssatu mu bugulumivu. Mu maaso g’omuziziko ogwo waaliwo ekisasi okutunuulira yeekaalu.
8 He measured the portico of the gate; it was one stick in length.
Awo n’apima ekisasi eky’oku mulyango
9 He measured the portico of the gate. It was one stick deep. The doorposts were two cubits in width. This was the portico of the gate facing the temple.
nga kiri mita nnya obugulumivu. Waaliwo empagi bbiri ku nsonda y’ekisasi, n’omubiri ogw’empagi ezo gwali mita emu. Ekisasi eky’oku mulyango kyayolekera yeekaalu.
10 There were three guard chambers on either side of the east gate, and each of them had the same measurement, and the walls that separated them had the same measurement.
Munda mu mulyango ogw’Ebuvanjuba mwalimu obusenge obw’abakuumi busatu ku njuyi zombi, bw’onsatule nga bwenkanankana obunene, nga n’ebbanga wakati waabwo lyenkanankana obunene.
11 Then the man measured the width of the gateway entrance—ten cubits; and he measured the length of the gateway entrance—thirteen cubits.
N’apima obugazi obw’awayingirirwa mu mulyango nga buli mita ttaano n’obugulumivu bwawo nga buli mita mukaaga n’ekitundu.
12 He measured the wall that was bordering the front of the chambers—one cubit high. The chambers measured six cubits on each side.
Mu maaso ga buli kasenge waaliwo ekisenge obuwanvu kitundu kya mita, n’obusenge nga buli mita ssatu eruuyi ne mita ssatu eruuyi.
13 Then he measured the gateway from the roof of one chamber to that of the next chamber—twenty-five cubits, from the entrance of the first chamber to that of the second.
N’oluvannyuma n’apima obugazi bw’akasolya ak’ekibangirizi okuva ku kasenge akamu okutuuka ku kakoolekedde; okuva ku ntikko y’empagi okutuuka ku y’empagi eyookubiri waali mita kkumi na bbiri n’ekitundu.
14 Then he measured the wall that went between the guard chambers—sixty cubits in length; he measured as far as the gate's portico.
Waaliwo embu bbiri ez’obusenge. N’apima ekibangirizi okuva ku kasenge akasooka ak’olubu olumu okutuuka ku kasenge akasembayo ak’olubu olwo. N’oluvannyuma n’apima n’ekibangirizi okuva ku kasenge akasooka ak’olubu olulala okutuuka ku kasenge akasembayo ak’olubu olwo olulala, wonna awamu n’afuna mita kkumi na ttaano buli lubu. Ekipimo ekyo tekitwaliramu kisasi.
15 The entrance from the front of the gate to the other end of the gate's portico was fifty cubits.
N’okuva ku bwenyi bw’omulyango awayingirirwa okutuuka ekisasi kyagwo we kikoma waali mita amakumi abiri mu ttaano.
16 There were closed windows toward the chambers and toward their pillars within the gates all around; and likewise for the porches. The were windows all around the inside, and each jamb was decorated with palm trees.
Era obusenge bwaliko amabanga amafunda okuva wansi okutuuka waggulu mu bisenge byabwo, okwetooloola obusenge bwonna; ate n’ekisasi nakyo kyalina amabanga agafaanagana nga gali ag’obusenge obw’abakuumi. Ku bisenge kwali kwoleddwako ebifaananyi eby’enkindu.
17 Then the man brought me to the outer courtyard of the temple. Behold, there were rooms, and there was pavement in the courtyard, with thirty rooms next to the pavement.
Awo omusajja n’andeeta mu luggya olw’ebweru; ne ndaba ebisenge ebimu n’olubalaza ebyazimbibwa, ebisenge ebyo ebyazimbibwa ku lubalaza mu bbugwe okwetooloola oluggya lwonna, byali amakumi asatu.
18 The pavement went up to the side of the gates, and its width was the same as the gates' length. This was the lower pavement.
Olubalaza lwakolebwa okwetooloola bbugwe. Obugazi bw’olubalaza lwali lwenkanankana n’obuwanvu bw’omulyango, era ng’olubalaza lwolekedde oluggya. Olubalaza olwo lwe luyitibwa olubalaza olwa wansi.
19 Then the man measured the distance from the front of the lower gate to the front of the inner gate; it was one hundred cubits on the east side, and the same on the north side.
N’oluvannyuma n’apima ekibangirizi okuva omulyango ogw’Ebuvanjuba we gukoma okutuuka ebweru ow’oluggya olw’omunda, ze mita amakumi ataano. Waaliwo n’omulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono. N’ekibangirizi okuva ku mulyango ogwo we gukoma okutuuka ebweru w’oluggya olw’omunda nakyo kyali mita amakumi ataano.
20 Then he measured the length and width of the gate that was at the north of the outer court.
Awo n’apima obuwanvu n’obugazi obw’omulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono ogufuluma mu luggya olw’ebweru.
21 There were three chambers on either side of that gate, and the gate and its portico measured the same as the main gate—fifty cubits in total length and twenty-five cubits in width.
Obusenge bwagwo obw’abakuumi, busatu oluuyi n’oluuyi, n’ebbanga wakati waabwo, n’ekisasi kyagwo, byalina ebipimo bye bimu ng’omulyango ogusooka. Omulyango ogwo gwali mita amakumi abiri mu ttaano obuwanvu, n’obugazi mita kkumi na bbiri n’ekitundu.
22 Its windows, portico, chambers, and its palm trees corresponded to the gate that faced east. Seven steps went up to it and to its portico.
Amabanga gaagwo amafunda, n’ekisasi kyagwo, n’ebifaananyi eby’enkindu ebyagwo byalina ebipimo bye bimu ng’eby’omulyango ogw’Ebuvanjuba. Amadaala musanvu ge galinnyibwanga okutuuka ku mulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono. Gwalina ekisasi ekyali ku nkomerero y’omulyango ogwo.
23 There was a gate to the inner courtyard in front of the gate facing north, just as also there was a gate to the east; the man measured from one gate to the other gate—one hundred cubits in distance.
Waaliwo omulyango ogw’oluggya olw’omunda ogwatunuulira omulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono, nga ogwali Ebuvanjuba. N’apima okuva ku mulyango ogw’oluggya olw’omunda okutuuka ku mulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono mita amakumi ataano.
24 Next the man brought me to the gate of the southern entrance, and its walls and portico measured the same as the other outer gates.
Awo n’ankulembera n’antwala ku luuyi olw’Obukiikaddyo ne ndaba omulyango ogw’Obukiikaddyo, n’apima empagi zaagwo n’ekisasi kyagwo, ng’ebigera byabyo byenkanankana n’ebirala.
25 There were closed windows in the gateway and its portico just as at that gate. The south gate and its portico measured fifty cubits in length and twenty-five cubits in width.

26 There were seven steps up to the gate and its portico, and there were carvings of palm trees on the walls on either side.
Amadaala musanvu ge gaalinnyibwangako okugutuukako. Gwalina ekisasi ekyali ku nkomerero yaagwo. Gwaliko n’ebifaananyi eby’enkindu ebyayolebwa eruuyi n’eruuyi ku bisenge byagwo.
27 There was a gate to the inner courtyard on the southern side, and the man measured from that gate to the gate of the south entrance—one hundred cubits in distance.
Waaliwo n’omulyango ogw’oluggya olw’omunda ogwatunuulira omulyango ogw’Obukiikaddyo. N’apima okuva ku mulyango ogwo okutuuka ku mulyango ogw’Obukiikaddyo; zaali mita amakumi ataano.
28 Then the man brought me to the inner courtyard by way of its southern gate, which had the same measurements as the other gates.
Awo n’antwala mu luggya olw’omunda nga tuyita mu mulyango ogw’Obukiikaddyo ogw’oluggya olw’omunda, n’apima, nga gulina ebipimo bye bimu ng’emirala gyonna.
29 Its chambers, walls, and porticos measured the same as the other gates; there were windows all around in the portico. The inner gate and its portico measured fifty cubits in length and twenty-five cubits in width.
Obusenge bwagwo obw’abakuumi, n’amabanga gaagwo, n’ekisasi kyagwo byalina ebipimo bye bimu ng’ebirala. Omulyango n’ekisasi kyagwo byalina amabanga amafunda okwetooloola, era gwali mita amakumi abiri mu ttaano obuwanvu, n’obugazi mita kkumi na bbiri n’ekitundu.
30 There were also porticos all around the inner wall; these were twenty-five cubits in length and five cubits in width.
Ebisasi eby’emiryango ebyetoolodde oluggya olw’omunda buli kimu kyali obugazi mita kkumi na bbiri n’ekitundu, n’obugulumivu mita bbiri n’ekitundu.
31 This portico faced the outer courtyard with carved palm trees on its walls and eight steps going up to it.
Ekisasi kyagwo kyatunuulira oluggya olw’ebweru. Empagi zaakyo zaali zooleddwa n’ebifaananyi eby’enkindu. Amadaala munaana ge gaalinnyibwanga okutuuka ku kisasi eky’oku mulyango ogw’Obukiikaddyo ogw’oluggya olw’omunda.
32 Then the man brought me to the inner courtyard by the eastern way and measured the gate, which had the same measurements as the other gates.
Oluvannyuma n’antwala mu luggya olw’omunda ku mulyango ogw’Ebuvanjuba ogw’oluggya olw’omunda, n’apima omulyango ogwo, nga gulina ebipimo bye bimu ng’emirala.
33 Its chambers, walls, and portico measured the same as the other gates, and there were windows all around. The inner gate and its portico measured fifty cubits in length and twenty-five cubits in width.
Obusenge bwagwo n’amabanga gaagwo n’ekisasi kyagwo byalina ebipimo bye bimu ng’ebirala. Omulyango n’ekisasi byalina amabanga okwetooloola, era gwali mita amakumi abiri mu ttaano obuwanvu n’obugazi mita kkumi na bbiri n’ekitundu.
34 Its portico faced the outer courtyard; it had palm trees on either side of it and eight steps going up it.
Ekisasi kyagwo kyatunuulira oluggya olw’ebweru. Empagi zaakyo zaali zooleddwa n’ebifaananyi eby’enkindu. Amadaala munaana ge gaalinnyibwanga okutuuka ku kisasi eky’oku mulyango ogw’Ebuvanjuba ogw’oluggya olw’omunda.
35 Next the man brought me to the northern gate and measured it; it measured the same as the other gates.
N’antwala ku mulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono ogw’oluggya olw’omunda n’alupima ng’ebipimo bye bimu ng’emiryango emirala.
36 Its chambers, walls, and portico measured the same as the other gates, and there were windows all around. The gateway and its portico measured fifty cubits in length and twenty-five cubits in width.
Obusenge bwagwo obw’abakuumi n’amabanga gaagwo, n’ekisasi kyagwo byalina ebipimo bye bimu ng’ebirala. Omulyango n’ekisasi byalina amabanga okwetooloola, era gwali mita amakumi abiri mu ttaano obuwanvu, n’obugazi mita kkumi na bbiri n’ekitundu.
37 Its portico faced the outer courtyard; it had palm trees on either side of it and eight steps going up it.
Ekisasi kyagwo kyatunuulira oluggya olw’ebweru. Empagi zaakyo zaali zooleddwa n’ebifaananyi eby’enkindu. Amadaala munaana ge gaalinnyibwanga okutuuka ku kisasi eky’oku mulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono ogw’oluggya olw’omunda.
38 There was a room with a door by each of the inner gateways. This was where they rinsed the burnt offerings.
Waaliwo ekisenge n’oluggi lwakyo ekyaliraana ekisasi ku buli mulyango ogw’oluggya olw’omunda. Omwo ebiweebwayo ebyokebwa mwe byayozebwanga.
39 There were two tables on each side of each portico, on which the burnt offering was slaughtered, and also the sin offering and the guilt offering.
Mu kisasi eky’emiryango mwalimu emmeeza bbiri oluuyi olumu n’endala bbiri oluuyi olulala kwe battiranga ebiweebwayo ebyokebwa, n’ebiweebwayo olw’ebibi, n’ebiweebwayo olw’omusango.
40 By the wall of the courtyard, going up to the gate to the north, there were two tables. Also on the other side there were two tables at the gate's portico.
Era ebweru w’ekisasi ku mulyango, okumpi n’amadaala awayingirirwa ku mulyango oguli mu bukiikakkono waaliwo emmeeza bbiri ne ku luuyi olulala olw’amadaala waliwo emmeza bbiri.
41 There were four tables on either side by the gate; they slaughtered animals on the eight tables.
Ne kitegeeza nga waaliwo emmeeza nnya ku luuyi olumu olw’omunda, n’emmeeza endala nnya ku luuyi olulala ng’oyimiridde mu mulyango, awamu z’emmeeza munaana, kwe battiranga ssaddaaka.

Era waaliwo n’emmeeza endala nnya ez’amayinja amateme ez’ebiweebwayo ebyokebwa, buli emu yali desimoolo nsanvu mu ttaano eza mita obuwanvu, obugazi desimoolo nsanvu mu ttaano eza mita n’obugulumivu kitundu kya mita. Okwo kwe baateekanga ebiso ebibaaga ebiweebwayo ebyokebwa n’ebiweebwayo ebirala.
43 Two-pronged hooks a handbreadth in length were fastened in the portico all around, and the flesh of the offerings would be put on the tables.
Era waaliwo n’ewuuma ez’engalo bbiri, obuwanvu bwazo sentimita mwenda, ezaawanikibwa ku bisenge okwetooloola. Ku mmeeza kwe baatekanga ennyama ey’ebiweebwayo.
44 On the outside of the inner gate, within the inner courtyard, were singers' chambers, one on the north side facing south, and the other on the south side facing north.
Mu luggya olw’omunda waaliyo ebisenge bibiri eby’abayimbi, ekimu ku luuyi olw’omulyango ogw’Obukiikakkono ekyolekera Obukiikaddyo, n’ekirala ku luuyi olw’omulyango ogw’Obukiikaddyo okutunuulira Obukiikakkono.
45 Then the man said to me, “This room facing south is for the priests who are on duty in the temple.
N’aŋŋamba nti, “Ekisenge ekyolekera Obukiikaddyo, kya bakabona abavunaanyizibwa yeekaalu,
46 The room facing north is for the priests on duty at the altar. These are the sons of Zadok who come near to Yahweh to serve him; they are among the sons of Levi.”
n’ekisenge ekyolekera Obukiikakkono kya bakabona abavunaanyizibwa ekyoto. Abo be batabani ba Zadooki, era be Baleevi bokka abasobola okusemberera Mukama okumuweereza.”
47 Next he measured the courtyard—one hundred cubits in length and one hundred cubits in width in a square, with the altar in front of the house.
N’apima oluggya, nga luli mita amakumi ataano obuwanvu, n’obugazi mita amakumi ataano, nga kya nsonda nnya ezenkanankana, n’ekyoto kyali mu maaso ga yeekaalu.
48 Then the man brought me to the portico of the house and measured its doorposts—they were five cubits thick on either side. The entryway itself was fourteen cubits in width, and the walls on each side of it were three cubits in width.
N’antwala ku kisasi kya yeekaalu n’apima empagi ez’ekisasi ezaali eruuyi n’eruuyi olw’ekisasi. Ne ndaba nga ku mukono ogwa ddyo empagi emu epima mita bbiri n’ekitundu ku luuyi olw’ebweru ate ng’empagi eyookubiri ku mukono ogwa kkono erina ebipimo ebyenkanankana na luli. Oluuyi olw’omunda olw’empagi emu lwapima mita emu n’ekitundu, n’oluuyi olw’omunda olw’empagi eyookubiri nga nalwo lupima mita emu n’ekitundu. Okuva ku mpagi we zitandikira okutuuka ku mulyango gwa yeekaalu waali mita musanvu, ekitegeeza nti ekisasi kyali mita musanvu obuwanvu.
49 The length of the portico was twenty cubits, and its depth was eleven cubits. There were steps that went up to it and columns that stood on either side of it.
Obugazi bw’omulyango ng’otaddeko n’empagi ez’enjuuyi zombi bwali mita kkumi. Okuva ku mpagi okutuuka ku mulyango gwa yeekaalu waali mita ttaano n’ekitundu. Amadaala kkumi ge gaalinnyibwanga okutuuka ku kisasi. Waaliwo n’empagi endala bbiri eruuyi n’eruuyi ezaaliraana empagi eziwanirira ekisasi.
