Ezekiel 31
1 Then it came about in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
En el año undécimo, en el tercer mes, el primer día del mes, vino a mí la palabra del Señor, que decía:
2 “Son of man, say to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and to his multitudes around him, 'In your greatness, who are you like?
Hijo de hombre, di a Faraón, rey de Egipto, y a su pueblo; ¿A Quién te pareces en tu gran poder?
3 Behold! Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, giving shade to the forest, and the tallest in height, and the branches formed its treetop.
He aquí Asiria era un árbol de cedro con hermosas ramas y frondosas, dando sombra y muy alto que su cima estaba entre las nubes.
4 Many waters made it tall; the deep waters made it huge. Rivers flowed all around its area, for their channels stretched out to all the trees in the field.
Obtuvo fuerza de las aguas y la profundidad la hizo alta; sus arroyos rodearon su tierra plantada y enviaron sus cursos de agua a todos los árboles del campo.
5 Its great height was more than any of the other trees in the field, and its branches became very many; its branches grew long because of many waters as they grew.
De esta manera se volvió más alto que todos los árboles del campo; y sus ramas aumentaron y sus brazos se alargaron a causa de tantas aguas.
6 Every bird of the heavens nested in its branches, while every living thing of the field gave birth to its young under its foliage. All of the many nations lived under its shade.
En sus ramas todas las aves del cielo se posaron, y bajo sus brazos todas las bestias del campo dieron a luz a sus crías, y grandes naciones vivían en su sombra.
7 For it was beautiful in its greatness and the length of its branches, for its roots were in many waters.
Así que era hermoso, siendo tan alto y sus ramas tan largas, porque su raíz estaba cerca de aguas abundantes.
8 Cedars in the garden of God could not equal it. None among the cypress trees matched its branches, and the plane tree could not equal its boughs. There was no other tree in the garden of God that was like it in its beauty.
No hay cedros iguales en el jardín de Dios; Los abetos no eran como sus ramas, y los plátanos no eran nada en comparación con sus brazos; Ningún árbol en el jardín de Dios era tan hermoso.
9 I made it beautiful with its many branches and all the trees of Eden that were in the garden of God envied it.
Lo hice hermoso con sus ramas frondosas: para que todos los árboles en el jardín de Dios estuvieran llenos de envidia.
10 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Because it was tall in height, and it set its treetop between its branches, it lifted up its heart because of its height.
Por esta causa, el Señor ha dicho: Porque él es alto y ha puesto su cima entre las nubes, y su corazón está lleno de orgullo porque él es tan alto.
11 I have given it into the hand of a mighty one of the nations, to deal with it according to what its wickedness deserves. I have thrown it out.
Lo he entregado en manos de un poderoso de las naciones; ciertamente le dará la recompensa de su pecado, lo he repudiado.
12 Foreigners who were the terror of all the nations cut it off and left it to die. Its branches fell on the mountains and all the valleys, and its boughs lay broken in all the ravines of the land. Then all the nations on earth came out from under its shade and they went away from it.
Y los hombres extranjeros, los más temidos entre las naciones, después de cortarlo, lo han dejado en las montañas, y en todos los valles han descendido sus ramas; sus ramas están rotas por todos los cursos de agua de la tierra; todos los pueblos de la tierra han salido de su sombra, y lo abandonado.
13 All the birds of the sky rested on the trunk of the fallen tree, and every animal of the field came to its branches.
Todas las aves del cielo han venido a descansar sobre sus ruinas, y todas las bestias del campo estarán en sus ramas.
14 This happened so that no other trees that grow by the waters will lift up their foliage to the height of the tallest trees, and that no other trees that grow beside the waters will reach up to that height. All of them have been assigned to death, to the earth below, among the children of humanity, with those that go down to the pit.
Para que ningún árbol cerca de las aguas se exalte a sí mismo en su crecimiento, poniendo sus cumbres entre las nubes; ni en su ramas se paren por su altura todos los que beben agua; todos ellos son entregados a la muerte, a las partes más bajas de la tierra entre los hijos de los hombres, con los que descienden al inframundo.
15 The Lord Yahweh says this: On the day when the cedar went down to Sheol I brought mourning to the earth. I covered the deep waters over it, and I held back the ocean waters. I kept back the great waters, and I brought mourning to Lebanon for him. So all the trees of the field mourned because of it. (Sheol h7585)
Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: el día en que descienda al inframundo, le haré una profunda angustia; Retendré sus arroyos y las aguas profundas se detendrán. Haré que el Líbano se cubra de luto por él, y todos los árboles del campo se desmayaron a causa de él. (Sheol h7585)
16 I brought shuddering to the nations at the sound of its downfall, when I threw it down to Sheol with those who went down into the pit. So I comforted all the trees of Eden in the lowest parts of the earth. These had been the choicest and best trees of Lebanon; the trees that drank the waters. (Sheol h7585)
Enviaré un temblor a las naciones al oír su caída, cuando lo envíe al inframundo con los que descienden a la fosa: y en la tierra se consolarán a sí mismos, todos los árboles del Edén. Lo mejor del Líbano, incluso todos los regados. (Sheol h7585)
17 For they also went down with it to Sheol, to the ones who had been killed by the sword. These were its strong arm, those nations who had lived in its shade. (Sheol h7585)
Y ellos descenderán con él al inframundo, a los que han sido juzgados; incluso aquellos que fueron sus ayudantes, que vivían bajo su sombra entre las naciones. (Sheol h7585)
18 Which of the trees in Eden was your equal in glory and greatness? For you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lowest parts of the earth among the uncircumcised; you will live with those who were killed by the sword.' This is Pharaoh and all of his multitudes—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.”
¿Quién entonces, eres comparado en gloria y grandeza entre los árboles del Edén? porque serás derribado con los árboles del Edén a las partes más bajas de la tierra; allí serás tendido entre los que no tienen circuncisión, y los que fueron puestos a la espada. Este es Faraón y todo su pueblo, dice el Señor Dios.
