Exodus 24
1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me—you, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel's elders, and worship me at a distance.
Después [Dios] dijo a Moisés: Sube a Yavé con Aarón, Nadab, Abiú y 70 ancianos de Israel. Se postrarán a distancia.
2 Moses alone may come near to me. The others must not come near, nor may the people come up with him.”
Solo Moisés se acercará a Yavé, pero ellos no se acercarán. Tampoco el pueblo subirá con él.
3 Moses went and told the people all of Yahweh's words and decrees. All the people answered with one voice and said, “We will do all the words that Yahweh has said.”
Moisés regresó y contó al pueblo todas las Palabras y las Ordenanzas de Yavé. Todo el pueblo respondió a una voz: Cumpliremos todas las Palabras que Yavé habló.
4 Then Moses wrote down all of Yahweh's words. Early in the morning, Moses built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve stone pillars, so that the stones would represent the twelve tribes of Israel.
Moisés escribió todas las Palabras de Yavé. Al levantarse temprano por la mañana, construyó un altar y 12 estelas al pie de la Montaña, conforme a las 12 tribus de Israel.
5 He sent some Israelite young men to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice fellowship offerings of oxen to Yahweh.
Mandó a los jóvenes de los hijos de Israel que ofrecieran holocaustos y sacrificaran becerros como ofrendas de paz a Yavé.
6 Moses took half of the blood and put it into basins; he sprinkled the other half onto the altar.
Moisés tomó la mitad de la sangre y la echó en tazones, y la otra mitad de la sangre la derramó sobre el altar.
7 He took the book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. They said, “We will do all that Yahweh has spoken. We will be obedient.”
Luego tomó el rollo del Pacto y lo leyó a oídos del pueblo. Ellos dijeron: Haremos y obedeceremos todo lo que Yavé habló.
8 Then Moses took the blood and sprinkled it onto the people. He said, “This is the blood of the covenant that Yahweh has made with you by giving you this promise with all these words.”
Entonces Moisés tomó la sangre, la roció sobre el pueblo y dijo: Aquí está la sangre del Pacto que Yavé hizo con ustedes de acuerdo con todas estas palabras.
9 Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel's elders went up the mountain.
Moisés subió con Aarón, Nadab, Abiú y 70 ancianos de Israel,
10 They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there was a pavement made of sapphire stone, as clear as the sky itself.
y vieron al ʼElohim de Israel. Debajo de sus pies había como un enlozado de zafiro, semejante en claridad al mismo cielo.
11 God did not lay a hand on the Israelite leaders. They saw God, and they ate and drank.
No extendió su mano contra los ancianos de los hijos de Israel. Ellos vieron a ʼElohim, y [después] comieron y bebieron.
12 Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay there. I will give you the tablets of stone and the law and commandments that I have written, so that you may teach them.”
Entonces Yavé dijo a Moisés: Sube a la Montaña y permanece allí. Te daré las tablas de piedra con la Ley y el Mandamiento que escribí para la instrucción de ellos.
13 So Moses set out with his assistant Joshua and went up the mountain of God.
Moisés se levantó con su ayudante Josué, y Moisés subió a la Montaña de ʼElohim.
14 Moses had said to the elders, “Stay here and wait for us until we come to you. Aaron and Hur are with you. If anyone has a dispute, let him go to them.”
Y él dijo a los ancianos: Espérennos aquí hasta que volvamos a ustedes. Y miren, Aarón y Hur están con ustedes, el que tenga alguna dificultad, acérquese a ellos.
15 So Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered it.
Entonces Moisés subió a la Montaña, y la nube la cubrió.
16 Yahweh's glory settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day he called to Moses from within the cloud.
La gloria de Yavé reposó sobre la Montaña Sinaí y la cubrió por seis días. Al séptimo día llamó a Moisés de en medio de la nube.
17 The appearance of Yahweh's glory was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the Israelites.
La apariencia de la gloria de Yavé en la cumbre de la Montaña era como fuego consumidor ante los ojos de los hijos de Israel.
18 Moses entered the cloud and went up the mountain. He was up the mountain for forty days and forty nights.
Moisés entró en medio de la nube cuando subió a la Montaña. Y Moisés estuvo en la Montaña 40 días y 40 noches.
