Exodus 24

1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me—you, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel's elders, and worship me at a distance.

I powiedział do Mojżesza: Wstąpcie do PANA ty i Aaron, Nadab i Abihu oraz siedemdziesięciu ze starszych Izraela i oddajcie pokłon z daleka.

2 Moses alone may come near to me. The others must not come near, nor may the people come up with him.”

Tylko sam Mojżesz zbliży się do PANA. Oni zaś nie zbliżą się ani lud nie wstąpi z nim.

3 Moses went and told the people all of Yahweh's words and decrees. All the people answered with one voice and said, “We will do all the words that Yahweh has said.”

Mojżesz przyszedł więc i opowiedział ludowi wszystkie słowa PANA i wszystkie prawa. I cały lud odpowiedział jednym głosem: Wypełnimy wszystkie słowa, które PAN powiedział.

4 Then Moses wrote down all of Yahweh's words. Early in the morning, Moses built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve stone pillars, so that the stones would represent the twelve tribes of Israel.

Wtedy Mojżesz spisał wszystkie słowa PANA. A kiedy rano wstał, zbudował ołtarz u stóp góry i [ustawił] dwanaście słupów, według [liczby] dwunastu pokoleń Izraela.

5 He sent some Israelite young men to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice fellowship offerings of oxen to Yahweh.

I posłał młodzieńców z synów Izraela, i ci ofiarowali całopalenia, i złożyli PANU cielce [jako] ofiary pojednawcze.

6 Moses took half of the blood and put it into basins; he sprinkled the other half onto the altar.

Potem Mojżesz wziął połowę krwi i wlał do czaszy, a drugą połową pokropił ołtarz.

7 He took the book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. They said, “We will do all that Yahweh has spoken. We will be obedient.”

Następnie wziął księgę przymierza i czytał ludowi, a oni powiedzieli: Wypełnimy wszystko, co PAN mówił, i będziemy posłuszni.

8 Then Moses took the blood and sprinkled it onto the people. He said, “This is the blood of the covenant that Yahweh has made with you by giving you this promise with all these words.”

Mojżesz wziął też krew i pokropił lud, mówiąc: Oto krew przymierza, które PAN zawarł z wami, według wszystkich tych słów.

9 Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel's elders went up the mountain.

I wstąpili Mojżesz, Aaron, Nadab i Abihu oraz siedemdziesięciu ze starszych Izraela;

10 They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there was a pavement made of sapphire stone, as clear as the sky itself.

I widzieli Boga Izraela, [a] pod jego nogami [było] jakby dzieło z szafirowego kamienia jak niebo, gdy jest jasne.

11 God did not lay a hand on the Israelite leaders. They saw God, and they ate and drank.

A na przywódców synów Izraela [PAN] nie wyciągnął swej ręki, choć widzieli Boga, jedli i pili.

12 Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay there. I will give you the tablets of stone and the law and commandments that I have written, so that you may teach them.”

Wtedy PAN powiedział do Mojżesza: Wstąp do mnie na górę i bądź tam, a dam ci kamienne tablice, prawo i przykazania, które napisałem, abyś ich nauczał.

13 So Moses set out with his assistant Joshua and went up the mountain of God.

Mojżesz wstał więc wraz z Jozuem, swoim sługą; i Mojżesz wstąpił na górę Boga.

14 Moses had said to the elders, “Stay here and wait for us until we come to you. Aaron and Hur are with you. If anyone has a dispute, let him go to them.”

A do starszych powiedział: Zostańcie tu, aż wrócimy do was. A oto Aaron i Chur [będą] z wami. Kto by miał [jakąś] sprawę, niech idzie do nich.

15 So Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered it.

Wtedy Mojżesz wstąpił na górę, a obłok zakrył górę.

16 Yahweh's glory settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day he called to Moses from within the cloud.

I chwała PANA spoczęła na górze Synaj, a obłok okrywał ją przez sześć dni. W siódmym dniu [PAN] zawołał na Mojżesza spośród obłoku.

17 The appearance of Yahweh's glory was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the Israelites.

A wygląd chwały PANA w oczach synów Izraela był jak ogień pożerający na szczycie góry.

18 Moses entered the cloud and went up the mountain. He was up the mountain for forty days and forty nights.

I Mojżesz wszedł w środek obłoku, i wstąpił na górę. A był Mojżesz na górze czterdzieści dni i czterdzieści nocy.
