Exodus 15
1 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to Yahweh. They sang, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.
Damals sang Moses mit den Israeliten dieses Lied dem Herrn. Sie sprachen also: "Dem Herrn will ich lobsingen. Er hat gesiegt, ins Meer gestürzt das Roß und seinen Reiter.
2 Yahweh is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.
Dem Herrn mein Lobgesang! Zur Rettung ward er mir. So ist mein Gott; ihn preise ich. Ich rühme meines Vaters Gott.
3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.
Der Herr ein Kriegsheld, sein Name Herr.
4 He has thrown Pharaoh's chariots and army into the sea. Pharaoh's chosen officers were drowned in the Sea of Reeds.
Die Wagen Pharaos und seine Mannen hat er ins Meer geworfen. Ins Schilfmeer tauchten die besten seiner Streiter.
5 The depths covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone.
Abgründe deckten sie; sie fuhren in die Strudel wie ein Stein.
6 Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power; your right hand, Yahweh, has shattered the enemy.
Herr, Deine Rechte, an Kraft so herrlich, Herr, Deine Rechte zerschmettert Feinde.
7 In great majesty you overthrew those who rose up against you. You sent out your wrath; it consumed them like stubble.
Mit Deines Zornes Fülle zerschlägst Du Deine Gegner; ausschickst Du Deinen Grimm, er frißt sie wie das Stroh.
8 By the blast of your nostrils the waters were piled up; the flowing waters stood upright in a heap; the deep water was congealed in the heart of the sea.
Durch Deines Zornes Hauch schwoll an das Wasser. Wallgleich die Fluten standen, und Abgründe gerannen in Meeres Herzen.
9 The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will share out the plunder; my desire will be satisfied on them; I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.'
Es sprach der Feind: 'Ich jage nach und hole ein und teile Raub. An ihnen meine Gier sich letze! Mein Schwert zück ich. Sie tilge meine Hand!'
10 But you blew with your wind, and the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters.
Du bliesest nur mit Deinem Hauche; schon bedeckte sie das Meer. Sie wirbelten wie Blei in die gewaltigen Gewässer.
11 Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, honored in praises, doing miracles?
Wer gleicht Dir bei den Göttern, Herr? Wer gleicht Dir, Du Erhabener im Heiligtum, Furchtbarer, Schrecklicher, Du Wunderwirker?
12 You reached out with your right hand, and the earth swallowed them.
Du streckst die Rechte aus, und sie verschluckt die Erde.
13 In your covenant loyalty you have led the people you have rescued. In your strength you have led them to the holy place where you live.
Du lenkst mit Deiner Huld das Volk, das Du erlöst. Du leitest es in Deiner Kraft zu Deiner heiligen Wohnstatt hin.
14 The peoples will hear, and they will tremble; terror will seize the inhabitants of Philistia.
Die Völker hören's, zittern, und Angst packt die Bewohner Philistäas.
15 Then the chiefs of Edom will fear; the soldiers of Moab will shake; all the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away.
Zusammenschrecken Edoms Fürsten, und Moabs Edelinge faßt Erbeben, und Kanaans Insassen alle zagen.
16 Terror and dread will fall on them. Because of your arm's power, they will become as still as a stone until your people pass by, Yahweh— until the people you have rescued pass by.
Entsetzen, Schrecken stürzt auf sie; ob Deines Armes Größe erstarren sie zu Stein, bis daß hindurchzieht, Herr, Dein Volk, bis daß hindurchzieht dies Dein Volk, das Du erkauft.
17 You will bring them and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, that you have made to live in, the sanctuary, our Lord, that your hands have built.
Herbei bringst Du sie selbst und pflanzest sie an jener Stätte ein, die Du zu Deinem Sitze, Herr, bereitet, im Heiligtum, mein Herr, das Deine Hände selbst erstellt.
18 Yahweh will reign forever and ever.”
Der Herr ist König immerdar und ewig." -
19 For Pharaoh's horses went with his chariots and horsemen into the sea. Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them. But the Israelites walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.
Pharaos Rosse waren ja samt seinen Wagen und Reitern ins Meer geraten, und der Herr brachte über sie des Meeres Gewässer zurück. Die Israeliten aber waren im Trockenen mitten durchs Meer gezogen.
20 Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron, picked up a tambourine, and all the women went out with tambourines, dancing along with her.
Da nahm die Prophetin Mirjam, Aarons Schwester, die Pauke zur Hand, und alle Frauen folgten ihr mit Pauken und Reigentänzen.
21 Miriam sang to them: “Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
Da sang ihnen Mirjam zu: "Lobsingt dem Herrn! Er ist so hoch und hehr, der Rosse und Reiter gestürzt ins Meer."
22 Then Moses led Israel onward from the Sea of Reeds. They went out into the wilderness of Shur. They traveled for three days into the wilderness and found no water.
Moses ließ nun Israel vom Schilfmeer aufbrechen. Sie zogen in die Wüste Sur hinein. Drei Tage gingen sie durch die Wüste; sie fanden aber kein Wasser.
23 Then they came to Marah, but they could not drink the water there because it was bitter. So they called that place Marah.
So kamen sie nach Mara; aber sie konnten in Mara kein Wasser trinken, weil es bitter war; daher hieß es Mara.
24 So the people complained to Moses and said, “What can we drink?”
Da murrte das Volk gegen Moses und sprach: "Was sollen wir trinken?"
25 Moses cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him a tree. Moses threw it into the water, and the water became sweet to drink. It was there that Yahweh gave them a strict law, and it was there that he tested them.
Er aber rief zum Herrn. Und der Herr wies ihn auf einen Baum. Davon warf er ins Wasser, und das Wasser ward süß. Dort gab er ihm Gesetz und Recht, und dort prüfte er es.
26 He said, “If you carefully listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and do what is right in his eyes, and if you give ear to his commands and obey all his laws—I will put on you none of the diseases that I put on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh who heals you.”
Er sprach: "Hörst du gehorsam auf die Stimme des Herrn, deines Gottes, und tust, was recht ist vor ihm, dann horchst du auf seine Weisungen und hältst all seine Satzungen, dann lege ich dir keines der Leiden auf, die ich Ägypten auferlegt. Ich, der Herr, bin dein Arzt."
27 Then the people came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. They camped there by the water.
Und sie kamen nach Elim. Dort waren zwölf Quellen und siebzig Palmen. Und sie lagerten dort am Wasser.
