Exodus 14
1 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
從厄堂到紅海1. 上主訓示梅瑟說：「
2 “Say to the Israelites that they should turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal Zephon. You are to camp by the sea opposite Pi Hahiroth.
你吩咐以色列子民轉回，在米革多耳及海之間的丕哈希洛特前，面對巴耳責豐安營，即在巴耳責豐之前，靠近海邊安營。
3 Pharaoh will say about the Israelites, 'They are wandering in the land. The wilderness has closed in on them.'
如此，法朗必然以為以色列子民在國境內迷了路，曠野困住了他們。
4 I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them. I will get honor because of Pharaoh and all his army. The Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh.” So the Israelites camped as they were instructed.
我要使法郎心硬，在後面追趕他們，這樣我將在法郎和他全軍身上，大顯神能，使埃及人知道我是上主。」以色列子民就照樣作了。法郎追趕以列
5 When the king of Egypt was told that the Israelites had fled, the minds of Pharaoh and his servants turned against the people. They said, “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”
有人報告埃及王說：那百姓逃走了。法郎和他的臣僕對那百姓變了心，說：「我們放走以色列人，不再給我們服役，這是作的什麼事﹖」
6 Then Pharaoh got his chariots ready and took his army with him.
法郎遂命人準備他的車，親自率領兵士，
7 He took six hundred chosen chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers on all of them.
還帶了六百輛精良戰車和埃及所有的戰車，每輛車上都有戰士駕駛。
8 Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and the king pursued the Israelites. Now the Israelites had gone away in triumph.
上主使埃及王法郎心硬，在後面追趕以色列子民；當以色列子民大膽前行的時候，
9 But the Egyptians pursued them, together with all his horses and chariots, his horsemen, and his army. They overtook the Israelites camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon.
埃及人在後面追趕他們，法郎所有的車馬、騎士和步兵就在靠近丕哈希洛特，巴耳責豐對面，以色列子民安營的地方趕上了。
10 When Pharaoh came close, the Israelites looked up and were surprised. The Egyptians were marching after them, and they were terrified. The Israelites cried out to Yahweh.
當法郎來近的時候，以色列子民舉目，看見埃及人趕來，都十分恐怖，向上主哀號，
11 They said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt, that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us like this, bringing us out of Egypt?
也向梅瑟說：「你帶我們死在曠野裏，難道埃及沒有墳墓嗎﹖你為什麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及出來﹖
12 Is this not what we told you in Egypt? We said to you, 'Leave us alone, so we can work for the Egyptians.' It would have been better for us to work for them than to die in the wilderness.”
我們在埃及不是對你說過這話：不要擾亂我們，我們甘願服侍埃及人，服侍埃及人總比死在曠野裏還好啊! 」
13 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the rescue that Yahweh will provide for you today. For you will never see again the Egyptians whom you see today.
梅瑟向百姓說：「你們不要害怕，站著別動，觀看上主今天給你們施的救恩，因為你們所見的埃及人，永遠再見不到了。
14 Yahweh will fight for you, and you will only have to stand still.”
上主必替你們作戰，你們應安靜等待。」過紅海
15 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Why are you, Moses, continuing to call out to me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.
上主向梅瑟說：「你為什麼向我哀號，吩咐以色列子民起營前行。
16 Lift up your staff, reach out with your hand over the sea and divide it in two, so that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.
你舉起棍杖，把你的手伸到海上，分開海水，叫以色列子民在海中乾地上走過。
17 Be aware that I will harden the Egyptians' hearts so they will go after them. I will get honor because of Pharaoh and all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.
你看，我要使埃及人的心硬，在後面趕以色列子民；這樣我好叫法郎和他全軍，戰車和騎兵身上，大顯神能。
18 Then the Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh when I have gotten honor because of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
我向法郎，向他的戰車和騎兵大顯神能的時候，埃及人將會知道我是上主。」
19 The angel of God, who went before the Israelites, moved and went behind them. The pillar of cloud moved from before them and went to stand behind them.
在以色列大隊前面走的天主使者，就轉到他們的後面走，雲柱也從他們前面轉到他們後面停下，
20 The cloud came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. It was a dark cloud to the Egyptians, but it lit the night for the Israelites, so one side did not come near the other all night.
即來到埃及軍營和以色列軍營中間；那一夜雲柱一面發黑，一面發光，這樣整夜軍隊彼此不能接近。
21 Moses reached out with his hand over the sea. Yahweh drove the sea back by a strong east wind all that night and made the sea into dry land. In this way the waters were divided.
梅瑟向海伸手，上主就用極強的東風，一夜之間把海颳退，使海底成為乾地。水分開以後，
22 The Israelites went into the middle of the sea on dry ground. The waters formed a wall for them on their right hand and on their left.
以色列子民便在海中乾地上走過，水在他們左右好像牆壁。埃及人沉沒海中
23 The Egyptians pursued them. They went after them into the middle of the sea—all Pharaoh's horses, chariots, and horsemen.
隨後埃及人也趕來，法郎所有的馬、戰車和騎兵，都跟著他們來到海中。
24 But in the early morning hours, Yahweh looked down on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and cloud. He caused panic among the Egyptians.
到了晨時末更，上主在火柱和雲柱上，窺探埃及軍隊，使埃及的軍隊混亂。
25 Their chariot wheels were clogged, and the horsemen drove with difficulty. So the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from Israel, for Yahweh is fighting for them against us.”
又使他們的車輪脫落，難以行走，以致埃及人說：「我們由以色列逃走罷! 因為上主替他們作戰，攻擊埃及人。」
26 Yahweh said to Moses, “Reach out with your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back onto the Egyptians, their chariots, and their horsemen.”
上主對梅瑟說：「向海伸出你的手，使水回流到埃及人、他們的戰車和騎兵身上。」
27 So Moses reached out with his hand over the sea, and it returned to its normal course when the morning appeared. The Egyptians fled into the sea, and Yahweh drove the Egyptians into the middle of it.
到了天亮，梅瑟向海伸手，海水流回原處；埃及人迎著水逃跑的時候，上主將他們投入海中。
28 The waters came back and covered Pharaoh's chariots, horsemen, and his entire army that had followed the chariots into the sea. No one survived.
回流的水淹末了法郎的戰車、騎兵和跟著以色列子民來到海中的法郎軍隊，一個人也沒有留下。
29 However, the Israelites walked on dry land in the middle of the sea. The waters were a wall for them on their right hand and on their left.
但是以色列子民在海中乾地上走過去，水在他們左右好像牆壁。
30 So Yahweh saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw dead Egyptians on the seashore.
這樣上主在那一天從埃及人手中整救了以色列人。以色列人看見了埃及人的屍首浮在海邊上。
31 When Israel saw the great power that Yahweh used against the Egyptians, the people honored Yahweh, and they trusted in Yahweh and in his servant Moses.
以色列人見上主向埃及人顯示的大能，百姓都敬畏上主，信了上主和他的僕人梅瑟。
