Exodus 11
1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “There is still one more plague that I will bring on Pharaoh and Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here. When he finally lets you go, he will drive you away completely.
E o senhor dissera a Moisés: Ainda uma praga trarei sobre faraó e sobre o Egito: depois vos deixarei ir daqui: e, quando vos deixar ir totalmente, a toda a pressa vos lançará daqui.
2 Instruct the people that every man and woman is to ask of his or her neighbor for articles of silver and articles of gold.”
Fala agora aos ouvidos do povo, que cada varão peça ao seu vizinho, e cada mulher à sua vizinha, vasos de prata e vasos de ouro.
3 Now Yahweh had made the Egyptians eager to please the Israelites. Moreover, the man Moses was very impressive in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and the people of Egypt.
E o Senhor deu graça ao povo aos olhos dos egípcios; também o varão Moisés era mui grande na terra do Egito, aos olhos dos servos de faraó, e aos olhos do povo.
4 Moses said, “Yahweh says this: 'About midnight I will go throughout Egypt.
Disse mais Moisés: Assim o Senhor tem dito: Á meia noite eu sairei pelo meio do Egito;
5 All the firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the handmill grinding it, and to all the firstborn of the cattle.
E todo o primogênito na terra do Egito morrerá, desde o primogênito de faraó, que houvera de assentar-se sobre o seu trono, até ao primogênito da serva que está detraz da mó, e todo o primogênito dos animais.
6 Then there will be a great wailing throughout all the land of Egypt, such as has never been nor ever will be again.
E haverá grande clamor em toda a terra do Egito, qual nunca houve semelhante e nunca haverá;
7 But not even a dog will bark against any of the people of Israel, against either man or beast. In this way you will know that I am treating the Egyptians and the Israelites differently.'
Mas entre todos os filhos de Israel nem ainda um cão moverá a sua língua, desde os homens até aos animais, para que saibais que o Senhor fez diferença entre os egípcios e os israelitas.
8 All these servants of yours, Pharaoh, will come down to me and bow down to me. They will say, 'Go, you and all the people who follow you!' After that I will go out.” Then he went out from Pharaoh in great anger.
Então todos estes teus servos descerão a mim, e se inclinarão diante de mim, dizendo: sai tu, e todo o povo que te segue as pisadas; e depois eu sairei. E saiu de faraó em ardor de ira
9 Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen to you. This is so that I will do many amazing things in the land of Egypt.”
O Senhor dissera a Moisés: faraó vos não ouvirá, para que as minhas maravilhas se multipliquem na terra do Egito.
10 Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh. But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, and Pharaoh did not let the people of Israel go out of his land.
E Moisés e Aarão fizeram todas estas maravilhas diante de faraó; mas o Senhor endureceu o coração de faraó, que não deixou ir os filhos de Israel da sua terra.
