Ecclesiastes 11
1 Send out your bread on the waters, for you will find it again after many days.
Echa tu pan sobre las aguas; que después de muchos días lo hallarás.
2 Share it with seven, even eight people, for you do not know what disasters are coming on the earth.
Reparte a siete, y aun a ocho; porque no sabes el mal que vendrá sobre la tierra.
3 If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth, and if a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it will remain.
Si las nubes fueren llenas de agua, sobre la tierra la derramarán; y si el árbol cayere al mediodía, o al norte, al lugar que el árbol cayere, allí quedará.
4 Anyone who watches the wind might not plant, and anyone who watches the clouds might not harvest.
El que al viento mira, nunca sembrará; y el que mira a las nubes, nunca segará.
5 As you do not know the path of the wind, nor how a baby's bones grow in the pregnant womb, so also you cannot comprehend the work of God, who created everything.
Como tú no sabes cuál es el camino del espíritu, o cómo crecen los huesos en el vientre de la mujer encinta, así ignoras la obra de Dios, el cual hace todas las cosas.
6 In the morning plant your seed; until the evening, work with your hands as needed, for you know not which will prosper, whether morning or evening, or this or that, or whether they will both alike be good.
Por la mañana siembra tu simiente, y a la tarde no dejes reposar tu mano; porque tú no sabes cuál es lo mejor, si esto o lo otro, o si ambas son igualmente buenas.
7 Truly the light is sweet, and it is a pleasant thing for the eyes to see the sun.
Suave ciertamente es la luz, y agradable a los ojos ver el sol;
8 If someone lives many years, let him be happy in all of them, but let him think about the coming days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is vanishing vapor.
mas si el hombre viviere muchos años, y en todos ellos hubiere gozado alegría; si después trajere a la memoria los días de las tinieblas, que serán muchos, todo lo que le habrá pasado, dirá haber sido vanidad.
9 Take joy, young man, in your youth, and let your heart be joyful in the days of your youth. Pursue the good desires of your heart, and whatever is within the sight of your eyes. However, know that God will bring you into judgment for all these things.
Alégrate, joven, en tu juventud, y tome placer tu corazón en los días de tu juventud; y anda en los caminos de tu corazón, y en la vista de tus ojos; pero sabe, que sobre todas estas cosas te traerá Dios a juicio.
10 Drive anger away from your heart, and ignore any pain in your body, because youth and its strength are vapor.
Quita pues la tristeza de tu corazón, y aparta el mal de tu carne; porque la niñez y la juventud son vanidad.
