Deuteronomy 27

1 Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people and said, “Keep all the commandments that I command you today.

Und Mose gebot samt den Ältesten Israels dem Volk und sprach: Haltet alle Gebote, die ich euch heute gebiete.

2 On the day when you will pass over the Jordan to the land that Yahweh your God is giving you, you must set up some large stones and plaster them with plaster.

Und zu der Zeit, wenn ihr über den Jordan geht in das Land, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, geben wird, sollst du große Steine aufrichten und sie mit Kalk tünchen

3 You must write on them all the words of this law when you have passed over; that you may go into the land that Yahweh your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your ancestors, has promised you.

und darauf schreiben alle Worte dieses Gesetzes, wenn du hinüberkommst, auf daß du kommst in das Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir geben wird, ein Land darin Milch und Honig fließt, wie der HERR, deiner Väter Gott, dir verheißen hat.

4 When you have passed over the Jordan, set up these stones that I am commanding you about today, on Mount Ebal, and plaster them with plaster.

Wenn ihr nun über den Jordan geht, so sollt ihr solche Steine aufrichten (davon ich euch heute gebiete) auf dem Berge Ebal und mit Kalk tünchen.

5 There you must build an altar to Yahweh your God, an altar of stones; but you must raise no iron tool to work the stones.

Und sollst daselbst dem HERRN, deinem Gott, einen steinernen Altar bauen, darüber kein Eisen fährt.

6 You must build the altar of Yahweh your God of unworked stones; you must offer burnt offerings on it to Yahweh your God,

Von ganzen Steinen sollst du diesen Altar dem HERRN, deinem Gott, bauen und Brandopfer darauf opfern dem HERRN, deinem Gott.

7 and you will sacrifice fellowship offerings and will eat there; you will rejoice before Yahweh your God.

Und sollst Dankopfer opfern und daselbst essen und fröhlich sein vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott.

8 You will write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

Und sollst auf die Steine alle Worte dieses Gesetzes schreiben, klar und deutlich.

9 Moses and the priests, the Levites, spoke to all Israel and said, “Be silent and listen, Israel: Today you have become the people of Yahweh your God.

Und Mose und die Priester, die Leviten, redeten mit ganz Israel und sprachen: Merke und höre zu, Israel! Heute, dieses Tages, bist du ein Volk des HERRN, deines Gottes, geworden,

10 You must therefore obey the voice of Yahweh your God and obey his commandments and statutes that I am commanding you today.”

daß du der Stimme des HERRN, deines Gottes, gehorsam seist und tust nach seinen Geboten und Rechten, die ich dir heute gebiete.

11 Moses commanded the people the same day and said,

Und Mose gebot dem Volk desselben Tages und sprach:

12 “These tribes must stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people after you have passed over the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

Diese sollen stehen auf dem Berge Garizim, zu segnen das Volk, wenn ihr über den Jordan gegangen seid; Simeon, Levi, Juda, Isaschar, Joseph und Benjamin.

13 These are the tribes that must stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

Und diese sollen stehen auf dem Berge Ebal, zu fluchen Ruben, Gad, Asser, Sebulon, Dan und Naphthali.

14 The Levites will answer and say to all the men of Israel in a loud voice:

Und die Leviten sollen anheben und sagen zu jedermann von Israel mit lauter Stimme:

15 'May the man be cursed who makes a carved or cast figure, an abomination to Yahweh, the work of the hands of a craftsman, and who sets it up in secret.' Then all the people must answer and say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer einen Götzen oder ein gegossenes Bild macht, einen Greuel des HERRN, ein Werk von den Händen der Werkmeister, und stellt es verborgen auf! Und alles Volk soll antworten und sagen: Amen.

16 'May the man be cursed who dishonors his father or his mother.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer seinen Vater oder seine Mutter unehrt! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

17 'May the man be cursed who removes his neighbor's landmark.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei wer seines Nächsten Grenze verengert! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

18 'May the man be cursed who makes the blind to wander away from the road.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer einen Blinden irren macht auf dem Wege! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

19 'May the man be cursed who uses force to take away the justice due to a foreigner, fatherless, or widow.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer das Recht des Fremdlings, des Waisen und der Witwe beugt! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

20 'May the man be cursed who lies with his father's wife, because he has taken away his father's rights.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer bei seines Vaters Weibe liegt, daß er aufdecke die Decke seines Vaters! und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

21 'May the man be cursed who sleeps with any kind of beast.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei wer irgend bei einem Vieh liegt! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

22 'May the man be cursed who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father, or with the daughter of his mother.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer bei seiner Schwester liegt, die seines Vaters oder seiner Mutter Tochter ist! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

23 'May the man be cursed who sleeps with his mother-in-law.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer bei seiner Schwiegermutter liegt! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

24 'May the man be cursed who kills his neighbor secretly.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer seinen Nächsten heimlich erschlägt! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

25 'May the man be cursed who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer Geschenke nimmt, daß er unschuldiges Blut vergießt! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.

26 'May the man be cursed who does not confirm the words of this law, that he will obey them.' Then all the people must say, 'Amen.'

Verflucht sei, wer nicht alle Worte dieses Gesetzes erfüllt, daß er darnach tue! Und alles Volk soll sagen: Amen.
