Deuteronomy 10
1 At that time Yahweh said to me, 'Carve two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
În timpul acela DOMNUL mi-a spus: Ciopleşte-ţi două table de piatră ca cele dintâi şi urcă-te la mine pe munte şi fă-ţi un chivot de lemn.
2 I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and you will put them in the ark.'
Şi eu voi scrie pe table cuvintele care erau pe primele table pe care le-ai spart, iar tu să le pui în chivot.
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and I carved two tablets of stone like the first, and I went up the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.
Şi am făcut un chivot din lemn de salcâm şi am cioplit două table de piatră ca cele dintâi şi am urcat pe munte, având cele două table în mâna mea.
4 He wrote on the tablets, like the first writing, the Ten Commandments which Yahweh had spoken to you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire on the day of the assembly; then Yahweh gave them to me.
Şi a scris pe table, conform cu prima scriere, cele zece porunci, pe care le-a vorbit DOMNUL către voi pe munte, din mijlocul focului, în ziua adunării, şi DOMNUL mi le-a dat.
5 I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark that I had made; there they are, as Yahweh commanded me.”
Şi m-am întors şi am coborât de pe munte şi am pus tablele în chivotul pe care l-am făcut; şi ele sunt acolo, precum mi-a poruncit DOMNUL.
6 (The people of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene Jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; Eleazar, his son, served in the priest's office in his place.
Şi copiii lui Israel au început călătoria de la Beerotul copiilor lui Iaacan la Mosera; acolo a murit Aaron şi acolo a fost îngropat; şi Eleazar, fiul său, a servit în locul său în serviciul preotului.
7 From there they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of streams of water.
De aici au început călătoria la Gudgoda; şi de la Gudgoda la Iotbat, o ţară cu râuri de apă.
8 At that time Yahweh chose the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to serve him, and to bless people in his name, as today.
În timpul acela DOMNUL a separat tribul lui Levi, să poarte chivotul legământului DOMNULUI, să stea înaintea DOMNULUI ca să îi servească şi să binecuvânteze în numele lui, până în această zi.
9 Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance of land with his brothers; Yahweh is his inheritance, as Yahweh your God spoke to him.)
De aceea Levi nu are nici parte nici moştenire cu fraţii săi; DOMNUL este moştenirea lui, conform cu ce i-a promis DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
10 “I stayed on the mountain as at the first time, forty days and forty nights. Yahweh listened to me that time also; Yahweh did not wish to destroy you.
Şi am stat pe munte, ca şi prima dată, patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi; şi DOMNUL mi-a dat ascultare şi atunci, şi DOMNUL nu a voit să te nimicească.
11 Yahweh said to me, 'Arise, go before the people to lead them on their journey; they will go in and possess the land that I swore to their ancestors to give to them.'
Şi DOMNUL mi-a spus: Ridică-te, începe-ţi călătoria înaintea poporului, ca să intre şi să stăpânească ţara, pe care am jurat-o părinţilor lor că le-o voi da.
12 Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, except to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to worship Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Şi acum, Israele, ce cere DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău de la tine, decât să te temi de DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, să umbli în toate căile lui şi să îl iubeşti şi să serveşti DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău cu toată inima ta şi cu tot sufletul tău,
13 to keep the commandments of Yahweh, and his statutes, which I am commanding you today for your own good?
Să păzeşti poruncile DOMNULUI şi statutele lui, pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi, pentru binele tău?
14 Behold, to Yahweh your God belongs heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is in them.
Iată, cerul şi cerul cerurilor sunt ale DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, pământul de asemenea, cu tot ce este pe el!
15 Only Yahweh took pleasure in your fathers so as to love them, and he chose you, their descendants, after them, more than any of the other peoples, as he does today.
Totuşi DOMNUL a avut desfătare în părinţii tăi ca să îi iubească şi a ales sămânţa lor după ei, adică pe voi, mai mult decât toate popoarele, ca în această zi.
16 Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stubborn no longer.
Circumcideţi de aceea prepuţul inimii voastre şi nu mai fiţi îndărătnici.
17 For Yahweh your God, he is God of gods and Lord of masters, the great God, the mighty one and the fearsome one, who favors no one and takes no bribes.
Pentru că DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru este Dumnezeul dumnezeilor şi DOMNUL domnilor, un Dumnezeu mare, puternic şi înfricoşător, care nu părtineşte după înfăţişare, nici nu ia răsplată,
18 He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and he shows love for the foreigner by giving him food and clothing.
El face judecată celui fără tată şi văduvei şi iubeşte pe străin, dându-i hrană şi îmbrăcăminte.
19 Therefore love the foreigner; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
Iubiţi de aceea pe străin, pentru că aţi fost străini în ţara Egiptului.
20 You will fear Yahweh your God; him will you worship. To him you must cling, and by his name will you swear.
Să te temi de DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, lui să îi serveşti şi de el să te alipeşti şi să juri pe numele lui.
21 He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and fearsome things, which your eyes have seen.
El este lauda ta şi el este Dumnezeul tău, care a făcut pentru tine aceste lucruri mari şi înfricoşătoare pe care ţi le-au văzut ochii.
22 Your fathers went down into Egypt as seventy persons; now Yahweh your God has made you as many as the stars of the heavens.
Părinţii tăi au coborât în Egipt cu şaptezeci de persoane; şi acum DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te-a făcut o mulţime ca stelele cerului.
