Deuteronomy 10
1 At that time Yahweh said to me, 'Carve two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
In selbiger Zeit sprach Jehova zu mir: Haue dir zwei steinerne Tafeln aus, wie die ersten, und steige zu mir herauf auf den Berg; und mache dir eine Lade von Holz;
2 I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and you will put them in the ark.'
und ich werde auf die Tafeln die Worte schreiben, welche auf den ersten Tafeln waren, die du zerbrochen hast; und du sollst sie in die Lade legen.
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and I carved two tablets of stone like the first, and I went up the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.
Und ich machte eine Lade von Akazienholz und hieb zwei steinerne Tafeln aus, wie die ersten; und ich stieg auf den Berg, und die zwei Tafeln waren in meiner Hand.
4 He wrote on the tablets, like the first writing, the Ten Commandments which Yahweh had spoken to you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire on the day of the assembly; then Yahweh gave them to me.
Und er schrieb auf die Tafeln wie die erste Schrift, die zehn Worte, welche Jehova auf dem Berge zu euch geredet hatte, mitten aus dem Feuer am Tage der Versammlung; und Jehova gab sie mir.
5 I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark that I had made; there they are, as Yahweh commanded me.”
Und ich wandte mich und stieg von dem Berge herab. Und ich legte die Tafeln in die Lade, die ich gemacht hatte; und sie sind daselbst, wie Jehova mir geboten hat.
6 (The people of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene Jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; Eleazar, his son, served in the priest's office in his place.
Und die Kinder Israel brachen auf von Beeroth-Bne-Jaakan nach Mosera. Daselbst starb Aaron, und er wurde daselbst begraben; und Eleasar, sein Sohn, übte den Priesterdienst aus an seiner Statt.
7 From there they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of streams of water.
Von dannen brachen sie auf nach Gudgoda, und von Gudgoda nach Jotbatha, einem Lande von Wasserbächen.
8 At that time Yahweh chose the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, to stand before Yahweh to serve him, and to bless people in his name, as today.
In selbiger Zeit sonderte Jehova den Stamm Levi aus, um die Lade des Bundes Jehovas zu tragen, vor Jehova zu stehen, um ihm zu dienen und in seinem Namen zu segnen, bis auf diesen Tag.
9 Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance of land with his brothers; Yahweh is his inheritance, as Yahweh your God spoke to him.)
Darum ward dem Levi kein Teil noch Erbe mit seinen Brüdern; Jehova ist sein Erbteil, so wie Jehova, dein Gott, zu ihm geredet hat.
10 “I stayed on the mountain as at the first time, forty days and forty nights. Yahweh listened to me that time also; Yahweh did not wish to destroy you.
Ich aber blieb auf dem Berge, wie die vorigen Tage, vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, und Jehova erhörte mich auch dieses Mal; Jehova wollte dich nicht verderben.
11 Yahweh said to me, 'Arise, go before the people to lead them on their journey; they will go in and possess the land that I swore to their ancestors to give to them.'
Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Mache dich auf, gehe hin, um vor dem Volke herzuziehen, damit sie hineinkommen und das Land in Besitz nehmen, das ich ihren Vätern geschworen habe, ihnen zu geben.
12 Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, except to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to worship Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Und nun, Israel, was fordert Jehova, dein Gott, von dir, als nur, Jehova, deinen Gott, zu fürchten, auf allen seinen Wegen zu wandeln und ihn zu lieben, und Jehova, deinem Gott, zu dienen mit deinem ganzen Herzen und mit deiner ganzen Seele,
13 to keep the commandments of Yahweh, and his statutes, which I am commanding you today for your own good?
indem du die Gebote Jehovas und seine Satzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete, beobachtest, dir zum Guten?
14 Behold, to Yahweh your God belongs heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is in them.
Siehe, Jehovas, deines Gottes, sind die Himmel und die Himmel der Himmel, die Erde und alles, was in ihr ist.
15 Only Yahweh took pleasure in your fathers so as to love them, and he chose you, their descendants, after them, more than any of the other peoples, as he does today.
Jedoch deinen Vätern hat Jehova sich zugeneigt, sie zu lieben; und er hat euch, ihren Samen nach ihnen, aus allen Völkern erwählt, wie es an diesem Tage ist.
16 Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stubborn no longer.
So beschneidet denn die Vorhaut eures Herzens und verhärtet euren Nacken nicht mehr!
17 For Yahweh your God, he is God of gods and Lord of masters, the great God, the mighty one and the fearsome one, who favors no one and takes no bribes.
Denn Jehova, euer Gott, er ist der Gott der Götter und der Herr der Herren, der große, mächtige und furchtbare Gott, der keine Person ansieht und kein Geschenk annimmt;
18 He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and he shows love for the foreigner by giving him food and clothing.
der Recht schafft der Waise und der Witwe, und den Fremdling liebt, so daß er ihm Brot und Kleider gibt.
19 Therefore love the foreigner; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
Und ihr sollt den Fremdling lieben; denn ihr seid Fremdlinge gewesen im Lande Ägypten.
20 You will fear Yahweh your God; him will you worship. To him you must cling, and by his name will you swear.
Jehova, deinen Gott, sollst du fürchten, ihm sollst du dienen und ihm anhangen, und bei seinem Namen sollst du schwören.
21 He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and fearsome things, which your eyes have seen.
Er ist dein Ruhm, und er dein Gott, der jene großen und furchtbaren Dinge an dir getan hat, die deine Augen gesehen haben.
22 Your fathers went down into Egypt as seventy persons; now Yahweh your God has made you as many as the stars of the heavens.
Zu siebzig Seelen zogen deine Väter nach Ägypten hinab; und nun hat Jehova, dein Gott, dich gemacht wie die Sterne des Himmels an Menge.
