Daniel 2
1 In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, he had dreams. His mind was troubled, and he could not sleep.
௧நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் ஆட்சிசெய்யும் இரண்டாம் வருடத்திலே, நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் கனவுகளைக் கண்டான்; அதினால், அவனுடைய ஆவி கலங்கி, அவனுடைய தூக்கம் கலைந்தது.
2 Then the king summoned the magicians and those who claimed to speak with the dead. He also called the sorcerers and wise men. He wanted them to tell him about his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king.
௨அப்பொழுது ராஜா தன் கனவுகளைத் தனக்குத் தெரிவிப்பதற்காக ஞானிகளையும் சோதிடர்களையும் மாயவித்தைக்காரர்களையும் கல்தேயர்களையும் அழைக்கச் சொன்னான்; அவர்கள் வந்து, ராஜசமுகத்தில் நின்றார்கள்.
3 The king said to them, “I have had a dream, and my mind is anxious to know what the dream means.”
௩ராஜா அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஒரு கனவு கண்டேன்; அந்தக் கனவின் அர்த்தத்தை அறியவேண்டுமென்று என் ஆவி கலங்கியிருக்கிறது என்றான்.
4 Then the wise men spoke to the king in Aramaic, “King, live forever! Tell the dream to us, your servants, and we will reveal the meaning.”
௪அப்பொழுது கல்தேயர்கள் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: ராஜாவே, நீர் என்றும் வாழ்க; கனவை உமது அடியார்களுக்குச் சொல்லும், அப்பொழுது அதின் அர்த்தத்தை விடுவிப்போம் என்று சீரிய மொழியிலே சொன்னார்கள்.
5 The king replied to the wise men, “This matter has been settled. If you do not reveal the dream to me and interpret it, your bodies will be torn apart and your houses made into rubbish heaps.
௫ராஜா கல்தேயர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: என்னிடத்திலிருந்து பிறக்கிற தீர்மானம் என்னவென்றால், நீங்கள் கனவையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் எனக்குச் சொல்லாவிட்டால் துண்டித்துப்போடப்படுவீர்கள்; உங்கள் வீடுகள் எருக்களங்களாக்கப்படும்.
6 But if you will tell me the dream and its meaning, you will receive gifts from me, a reward, and great honor. So tell to me the dream and its meaning.”
௬கனவையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் சொல்வீர்களென்றால், என்னிடத்தில் வெகுமதிகளையும் பரிசுகளையும் மிகுந்த கனத்தையும் பெறுவீர்கள்; ஆகையால் கனவையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் எனக்குத் தெரிவியுங்கள் என்றான்.
7 They replied again and said, “Let the king tell us, his servants, the dream and we will tell you its meaning.”
௭அவர்கள் மறுபடியும் மறுமொழியாக: ராஜா அடியார்களுக்குக் கனவைச் சொல்வாராக; அப்பொழுது அதின் அர்த்தத்தைச் சொல்வோம் என்றார்கள்.
8 The king answered, “I know for certain that you want more time because you see how firm my decision is about this.
௮அதற்கு ராஜா மறுமொழியாக: என்னிடத்திலிருந்து தீர்மானம் பிறந்தபடியினாலே நீங்கள் காலதாமதம் செய்யப்பார்க்கிறீர்களென்று நிச்சயமாக எனக்குத் தெரியவருகிறது.
9 But if you do not tell me the dream, there is only one sentence for you. You have decided to prepare false and deceptive words that you agreed together to say to me until I change my mind. So then, tell me the dream, and then I will know you can interpret it for me.”
௯காலம் மாறுமென்று நீங்கள் எனக்கு முன்பாக பொய்யும் புரட்டுமான செய்தியைச் சொல்லும்படி திட்டமிட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்; நீங்கள் கனவை எனக்குச் சொல்லாவிட்டால், உங்கள் அனைவருக்கும் இந்த ஒரே தீர்ப்பு பிறந்திருக்கிறது; ஆகையால் கனவை எனக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் உங்களால் சொல்லமுடியுமென்று அறிந்துகொள்வேன் என்றான்.
10 The wise men replied to the king, “There is not a man on earth able to meet the king's demand. There is no great and powerful king who has demanded such a thing from any magician, or from anyone who claims to speak with the dead, or from a wise man.
௧0கல்தேயர்கள் ராஜசமுகத்தில் மறுமொழியாக: ராஜா கேட்கும் காரியத்தை சொல்லத்தக்க மனிதன் பூமியில் ஒருவனும் இல்லை; ஆகையால் மகத்துவமும் வல்லமையுமான எந்த ராஜாவும் இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியத்தை ஒரு ஞானியினிடத்திலாவது சோதிடனிடத்திலாவது கல்தேயனிடத்திலாவது கேட்டதில்லை.
11 What the king demands is difficult, and there is no one who can tell it to the king except the gods, and they do not live among humans.”
௧௧ராஜா கேட்கிற காரியம் மிகவும் அருமையானது; மாம்சமாயிருக்கிறவர்களுடன் வாசம்செய்யாத தேவர்களேயல்லாமல் ராஜசமுகத்தில் அதை அறிவிக்க முடிந்தவர் ஒருவரும் இல்லை என்றார்கள்.
12 This made the king angry and very furious, and he gave an order to destroy all those in Babylon who were known for their wisdom.
௧௨இதனால் ராஜா மகா கோபமும் எரிச்சலுங்கொண்டு, பாபிலோனில் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஞானிகளையும் கொலைசெய்யும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான்.
13 So the decree went out that all those who were known for their wisdom were to be put to death. Because of this decree, they searched for Daniel and his friends so they could be put to death.
௧௩ஞானிகளைக் கொலைசெய்யவேண்டுமென்கிற கட்டளை வெளிப்பட்டபோது, தானியேலையும் அவன் தோழரையும் கொலைசெய்யத் தேடினார்கள்.
14 Then Daniel replied with prudence and discretion to Arioch the commander of the king's bodyguard, who had come to kill all those in Babylon who were known for their wisdom.
௧௪பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளைக் கொலைசெய்யப் புறப்பட்ட ராஜாவின் மெய்க்காப்பாளர்களுக்கு அதிபதியாகிய ஆரியோகோடே தானியேல் யோசனையும் புத்தியுமாகப் பேசி:
15 Daniel asked the king's commander, “Why is the king's decree so urgent?” So Arioch told Daniel what had happened.
௧௫இந்தக் கட்டளை ராஜாவினால் இத்தனை அவசரமாக பிறப்பிப்பதற்குக் காரணம் என்ன என்று ராஜாவின் அதிபதியாகிய ஆரியோகினிடத்தில் கேட்டான்; அப்பொழுது ஆரியோகு தானியேலுக்குக் காரியத்தை அறிவித்தான்.
16 Then Daniel went in and requested an appointment with the king so that he could present the interpretation to the king.
௧௬தானியேல் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் போய், கனவின் அர்த்தத்தை ராஜாவிற்குக் காண்பிக்கும்படித் தனக்குத் தவணைகொடுக்க விண்ணப்பம்செய்தான்.
17 Then Daniel went to his house and explained to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, what had happened.
௧௭பின்பு தானியேல் தன் வீட்டிற்குப்போய், தானும் தன் தோழரும் பாபிலோனின் மற்ற ஞானிகளோடேகூட அழியாதபடிக்கு இந்த மறைபொருளைக்குறித்துப் பரலோகத்தின் தேவனை நோக்கி இரக்கம் கேட்கிறதற்காக,
18 He urged them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery so that he and they might not be killed with the rest of the men of Babylon who were known for their wisdom.
௧௮அனனியா, மீஷாவேல், அசரியா என்னும் தன்னுடைய தோழருக்கு இந்தக் காரியத்தை அறிவித்தான்.
19 That night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven
௧௯பின்பு இரவுநேரத்தில் தரிசனத்திலே தானியேலுக்கு மறைபொருள் வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது தானியேல் பரலோகத்தின் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினான்.
20 and said, “Praise the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and power belong to him.
௨0பின்பு தானியேல் சொன்னது: தேவனுடைய நாமத்திற்கு என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள சதாகாலங்களிலும் மகிமையுண்டாவதாக; ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் அவருக்கே உரியது.
21 He changes the times and seasons; he removes kings and places kings on their thrones. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.
௨௧அவர் காலங்களையும் நேரங்களையும் மாற்றுகிறவர்; ராஜாக்களைத் தள்ளி, ராஜாக்களை ஏற்படுத்துகிறவர்; ஞானிகளுக்கு ஞானத்தையும், அறிவாளிகளுக்கு அறிவையும் கொடுக்கிறவர்.
22 He reveals the deep and hidden things because he knows what is in the darkness, and the light lives with him.
௨௨அவரே ஆழமும் மறைபொருளுமானதை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறவர்; இருளில் இருக்கிறதை அவர் அறிவார்; வெளிச்சம் அவரிடத்தில் தங்கும்.
23 God of my ancestors, I thank you and praise you for the wisdom and power you gave to me. Now you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the matter that concerns the king.”
௨௩என் பிதாக்களின் தேவனே, நீர் எனக்கு ஞானமும் வல்லமையும் கொடுத்து, நாங்கள் உம்மிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொண்டதை இப்பொழுது எனக்கு அறிவித்து, ராஜாவின் காரியத்தை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்ததினால், உம்மைத் துதித்துப் புகழுகிறேன் என்றான்.
24 Then Daniel went in to see Arioch (the one the king appointed to kill everyone who was wise in Babylon). He went and said to him, “Do not kill the wise men in Babylon. Take me to the king and I will show the king the interpretation of his dream.”
௨௪பின்பு தானியேல் பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளை அழிக்க ராஜா கட்டளையிட்ட ஆரியோகினிடத்தில் போய்: பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளை அழிக்காதேயும், என்னை ராஜாவின் முன்பாக அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோம்; ராஜாவிற்கு அர்த்தத்தைத் தெரிவிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னான்.
25 Then Arioch quickly brought in Daniel before the king and said, “I have found among the exiles of Judah a man who will reveal the meaning of the king's dream.”
௨௫அப்பொழுது ஆரியோகு தானியேலை ராஜாவின்முன் வேகமாக அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்: சிறைப்பட்டுவந்த யூதேயா தேசத்தாரில் ஒரு மனிதனைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்; அவன் ராஜாவிற்கு அர்த்தத்தைத் தெரிவிப்பான் என்றான்.
26 The king said to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar), “Are you able to tell me the dream that I saw and its meaning?”
௨௬ராஜா பெல்தெஷாத்சாரென்னும் பெயருள்ள தானியேலை நோக்கி: நான் கண்ட கனவுகளையும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் நீ எனக்கு அறிவிக்கமுடியுமா என்று கேட்டான்.
27 Daniel answered the king and said, “The mystery that the king has asked about cannot be revealed by those who have wisdom, nor by those who claim to speak with the dead, nor by magicians, and not by astrologers.
௨௭தானியேல் ராஜசமுகத்தில் மறுமொழியாக: ராஜா கேட்கிற மறைபொருளை ராஜாவிற்குத் தெரிவிக்க ஞானிகளாலும், சோதிடராலும், விண் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்களாலும், குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களாலும் முடியாது.
28 Nevertheless, there is a God who lives in the heavens, who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to you, King Nebuchadnezzar, what will happen in the days to come. These were your dream and the visions of your mind as you lay on your bed.
௨௮மறைபொருட்களை வெளிப்படுத்துகிற பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற தேவன் கடைசிநாட்களில் சம்பவிப்பதை ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருக்குத் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்; உம்முடைய கனவும் உமது படுக்கையின்மேல் உம்முடைய எண்ணத்தில் உண்டான தரிசனங்களும் என்னவென்றால்:
29 As for you, king, your thoughts on your bed were about things to come, and the one who reveals mysteries has made known to you what is about to happen.
௨௯ராஜாவே, உம்முடைய படுக்கையின்மேல் நீர் படுத்திருக்கும்போது, இனிமேல் சம்பவிக்கப்போகிறதென்ன என்கிற நினைவுகள் உமக்குள் எழும்பினது; அப்பொழுது மறைபொருட்களை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறவர் சம்பவிக்கப்போகிறதை உமக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்.
30 As for me, this mystery was not revealed to me because of any wisdom that I have more than any other living person. This mystery was revealed to me so that you, king, may understand the meaning, and so that you may know the thoughts deep within you.
௩0உயிரோடிருக்கிற எல்லோரைப்பார்க்கிலும் எனக்கு அதிக ஞானம் உண்டென்பதினாலே அல்ல; அர்த்தம் ராஜாவிற்குத் தெரியவரவும், உம்முடைய இருதயத்தின் நினைவுகளை நீர் அறியவும், இந்த மறைபொருள் எனக்கு வெளியாக்கப்பட்டது.
31 King, you looked up and you saw a large statue. This statue, which was very powerful and bright, stood before you. Its brightness was terrifying.
௩௧ராஜாவே, நீர் ஒரு பெரிய சிலையைக் கண்டீர்; அந்தப் பெரிய சிலை மிகவும் பிரகாசமுள்ளதாயிருந்தது; அது உமக்கு முன்னே நின்றது; அதின் ரூபம் பயங்கரமாயிருந்தது.
32 The head of the statue was made of fine gold. Its breast and arms were of silver. Its middle and its thighs were made of bronze,
௩௨அந்தச் சிலையின் தலை பசும்பொன்னும், அதின் மார்பும், புயங்களும் வெள்ளியும், அதின் வயிறும், தொடையும் வெண்கலமும்,
33 and its legs were made of iron. Its feet were made partly of iron and partly of clay.
௩௩அதின் கால்கள் இரும்பும், பாதங்கள் பாதி இரும்பும் பாதி களிமண்ணுமாக இருந்தது.
34 You looked up, and a stone was cut out, although not by human hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay, and it shattered them.
௩௪நீர் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே, கைகளால் பெயர்க்கப்படாத ஒரு கல் பெயர்ந்து உருண்டுவந்தது; அது அந்தச் சிலையை இரும்பும் களிமண்ணுமாகிய அதின் பாதங்களில் மோதி, அவைகளை நொறுக்கிப்போட்டது.
35 Then the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold at the same time were broken into pieces and became like the chaff of the threshing floors in the summer. The wind carried them away and there was no trace of them left. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
௩௫அப்பொழுது அந்த இரும்பும், களிமண்ணும், வெண்கலமும், வெள்ளியும், பொன்னும் முழுவதும் நொறுங்குண்டு, கோடைக்காலத்தில் போரடிக்கிற களத்திலிருந்து பறந்துபோகிற பதரைப்போலாயிற்று; அவைகளுக்கு ஒரு இடமும் கிடைக்காமல் காற்று அவைகளை அடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனது; சிலையை மோதின கல்லோவென்றால், ஒரு பெரிய மலையாகி பூமியையெல்லாம் நிரப்பிற்று.
36 This was your dream. Now we will tell the king the meaning.
௩௬கனவு இதுதான்; அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும், ராஜசமுகத்தில் தெரிவிப்போம்.
37 You, king, are king of the kings to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the strength, and the honor.
௩௭ராஜாவே, நீர் ராஜாதி ராஜாவாயிருக்கிறீர்; பரலோகத்தின் தேவன் உமக்கு ராஜரீகத்தையும், பராக்கிரமத்தையும், வல்லமையையும், மகிமையையும் அருளினார்.
38 He has given into your hand the place where the human beings live. He has given over the animals of the fields and the birds of the heavens into your hand, and he has made you rule over them all. You are the statue's head of gold.
௩௮சகல இடங்களிலுமுள்ள மனிதர்களையும், வெளியின் மிருகங்களையும், ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளையும் அவர் உமது கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, உம்மை அவைகளையெல்லாம் ஆளும்படி செய்தார். பொன்னான அந்தத் தலை நீரே.
39 After you, another kingdom will arise that is inferior to you, and yet a third kingdom of bronze will rule over all the earth.
௩௯உமக்குப்பிறகு உமக்குக் கீழ்த்தரமான வேறொரு ராஜ்ஜியம் தோன்றும்; பின்பு பூமியையெல்லாம் ஆண்டுகொள்ளும் வெண்கலமான மூன்றாம் ராஜ்ஜியம் ஒன்று எழும்பும்.
40 There will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron, because iron breaks other things into pieces and shatters everything. It will shatter all these things and crush them.
௪0நான்காவது ராஜ்ஜியம் இரும்பைப்போல உறுதியாயிருக்கும்; இரும்பு எல்லாவற்றையும் எப்படி நொறுக்கிச் சின்னபின்னமாக்குகிறதோ, அப்படியே இது நொறுக்கிப்போடுகிற இரும்பைப்போல அவைகளையெல்லாம் நொறுக்கித் தகர்த்துப்போடும்.
41 Just as you saw, the feet and toes were partly made of baked clay and partly made of iron, so it will be a divided kingdom; some of the strength of iron will be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with the soft clay.
௪௧பாதங்களும், கால்விரல்களும், பாதி குயவனின் களிமண்ணும், பாதி இரும்புமாயிருக்க நீர் கண்டீரே, அந்த ராஜ்ஜியம் பிரிக்கப்படும்; ஆகிலும் களிமண்ணுடன் இரும்பு கலந்திருக்க நீர் கண்டபடியே இரும்பினுடைய உறுதியில் கொஞ்சம் அதிலே இருக்கும்.
42 As the toes of the feet were partly made of iron and partly made of clay, so the kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.
௪௨கால்விரல்கள் பாதி இரும்பும் பாதி களிமண்ணுமாயிருந்தது என்னவென்றால், அந்த ராஜ்ஜியம் ஒரு பங்கு பலமுள்ளதாகவும் ஒரு பங்கு நெரிசலுமாயிருக்கும்.
43 As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so the people will be a mixture; they will not stay together, just as iron does not mix with clay.
௪௩நீர் இரும்பைக் களிமண்ணுடன் கலந்ததாகக் கண்டீரே, அவர்கள் மற்ற மனிதர்களோடு சம்பந்தங்கலப்பார்கள்; ஆகிலும் இதோ, களிமண்ணுடன் இரும்பு கலவாததுபோல அவர்கள் ஒருவரோடொருவர் ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளாதிருப்பார்கள்.
44 In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be conquered by another people. It will break the other kingdoms into pieces and put an end to all of them, and it will remain forever.
௪௪அந்த ராஜாக்களின் நாட்களிலே, பரலோகத்தின் தேவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் அழியாத ஒரு ராஜ்ஜியத்தை எழும்பச்செய்வார்; அந்த ராஜ்ஜியம் வேறு மக்களுக்கு விடப்படுவதில்லை; ஒரு கல் கையால் பெயர்க்கப்படாமல் மலையிலிருந்து பெயர்ந்து, உருண்டுவந்து, இரும்பையும், வெண்கலத்தையும், களிமண்ணையும், வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும் நொறுக்கினதை நீர் கண்டீரே, அப்படியே அது அந்த ராஜ்ஜியங்களையெல்லாம் நொறுக்கி, நிர்மூலமாக்கி, அதுவோ என்றென்றைக்கும் நிற்கும்.
45 Just as you saw, a stone was cut out of the mountain, but not by human hands. It broke the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold into pieces. The great God has made known to you, king, what will happen after this. The dream is true and this interpretation is reliable.”
௪௫இனிமேல் சம்பவிக்கப்போகிறதை மகா தேவன் ராஜாவிற்குத் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்; சொப்பனமானது உண்மை, அதின் அர்த்தம் சத்தியம் என்றான்.
46 King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face before Daniel and honored him; he commanded that an offering be made and that incense be offered up to him.
௪௬அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, தானியேலை வணங்கி, அவனுக்குக் காணிக்கைசெலுத்தவும், தூபங்காட்டவும் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
47 The king said to Daniel, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and the one who reveals mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”
௪௭ராஜா தானியேலை நோக்கி: நீ இந்த மறைபொருளை வெளிப்படுத்தினதினால், உண்மையாகவே உங்கள் தேவனே தேவர்களுக்கு தேவனும், ராஜாக்களுக்கு ஆண்டவரும், மறைபொருட்களை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார் என்றான்.
48 Then the king made Daniel highly honored and gave him many wonderful gifts. He made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon. Daniel became chief governor over the wisest men of Babylon.
௪௮பின்பு ராஜா தானியேலைப் பெரியவனாக்கி, அவனுக்கு அநேகம் சிறந்த வெகுமதிகளைக் கொடுத்து, அவனைப் பாபிலோன் மாகாணம் முழுவதற்கும் அதிபதியாகவும், பாபிலோனிலுள்ள சகல ஞானிகளின்மேலும் பிரதான அதிகாரியாகவும் நியமித்தான்.
49 Daniel made a request of the king, and the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be administrators over the province of Babylon. But Daniel remained at the king's court.
௪௯தானியேல் ராஜாவை வேண்டிகொண்டதினால் அவன் சாத்ராக்கையும், மேஷாக்கையும், ஆபேத்நேகோவையும் பாபிலோன் மாகாணத்துக் காரியங்களை விசாரிக்கும்படிவைத்தான்; தானியேலோவென்றால் ராஜாவின் அரண்மனையில் இருந்தான்.
