< Colossians 3 >

1 If then God has raised you with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.
If all of you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.
2 Think about the things above, not about the things on earth.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
For all of you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ appears, who is your life, then you will also appear with him in glory.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall all of you also appear with him in glory.
5 Put to death, then, the members that are on earth—sexual immorality, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 It is for these things that the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.
For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience:
7 It is in these things that you also once walked when you lived in them.
In the which all of you also walked some time, when all of you lived in them.
8 But now you must get rid of all these things—wrath, anger, evil intentions, insults, and obscene speech from your mouth.
But now all of you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old man with its practices,
Lie not one to another, seeing that all of you have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 and you have put on the new man that is being made new in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it.
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 This is where there is no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, freeman, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Savages, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Bear with one another. Be gracious to each other. If someone has a complaint against someone else, forgive in the same way that the Lord has forgiven you.
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do all of you.
14 Above all these things, have love, which is the bond of perfection.
And above all these things put on (agape) love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. It was for this peace that you were called in one body. And be thankful.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also all of you are called in one body; and be all of you thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ live in you richly. With all wisdom teach and admonish one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Sing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Let the (logos) word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. Give thanks to God the Father through him.
And whatsoever all of you do in (logos) word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as it is appropriate in the Lord.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is pleasing in the Lord.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they will not be discouraged.
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Slaves, obey your masters according to the flesh in all things, not with eyeservice as people pleasers, but with a sincere heart. Fear the Lord.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 Whatever you do, work from the soul as to the Lord and not as to people.
And whatsoever all of you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 You know that you will receive from the Lord the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Knowing that of the Lord all of you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for all of you serve the Lord Christ.
25 For anyone who does unrighteousness will receive the penalty for the unrighteousness that he did, and there is no favoritism.
But he that does wrong shall receive for the wrong which he has done: and there is no respect of persons.
