< Acts 11 >
1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
Asomafo ne agyidifo a wɔwɔ Yudea nyinaa tee sɛ amanamanmufo no nso agye Onyankopɔn asɛm no adi.
2 When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, they who belonged to the circumcision group criticized him;
Petro kɔɔ Yerusalem no, Yudafo agyidifo no ne no nyaa akasakasa kae se,
3 they said, “You associated with uncircumcised men and ate with them!”
“Woakɔ wɔn a wɔnnyɛ twetiatwafo no nkyɛn ne wɔn akodidi.”
4 But Peter started to explain the matter to them in detail; he said,
Petro bɔɔ wɔn biribiara a esii no ho amanneɛ se,
5 I was praying in the city of Joppa, and I had a vision of a container coming down, like a large sheet let down from heaven by its four corners. It descended to me.
“Na merebɔ mpae wɔ Yopa na minyaa anisoadehu. Mihuu biribi a ɛte sɛ ntama kɛse a wɔakyekyere sɛ efi ɔsoro afanan resian ba fam wɔ faako a mewɔ no.
6 I gazed at it and I thought about it. I saw the four-legged animals of earth, wild beasts, creeping animals, and birds of the sky.
Mehwɛɛ mu no, mihuu ntɔteboa ahorow, mmoa a wɔwea ne wuram nnomaa.
7 Then I heard a voice say to me, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat!”
Afei, nne bi ka kyerɛɛ me se, ‘Petro! Sɔre! Kum na we!’
8 I said, “Not so, Lord; for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.”
“Mibuae se, ‘Dabi da, Awurade! Minnii biribiara a ɛho ntew da.’
9 But the voice answered again from heaven, “What God has declared clean, do not call unclean.”
“Nne no ka kyerɛɛ me bio se, ‘Biribiara a Onyankopɔn atew ho no, nka se ɛho ntew.’
10 This happened three times, and then everything was taken back up into heaven again.
Saa anisoadehu yi baa mprɛnsa, na ɛsan kɔɔ ɔsoro.
11 Behold, right away there were three men standing in front of the house where we were; they had been sent from Caesarea to me.
“Saa bere no ara mu, nnipa baasa a wɔasoma wɔn fi Kaesarea no beduu ofi a na mete mu no mu.
12 The Spirit commanded me to go with them, and that I should make no distinction regarding them. These six brothers went with me, and we went into the man's house.
Honhom Kronkron ka kyerɛɛ me se menntwentwɛn me nan ase na me ne wɔn nkɔ. Saa agyidifo baasa yi a wofi Yopa no kaa me ho kɔɔ Kaesarea ma yɛn nyinaa kɔɔ Kornelio fi.
13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying, “Send men to Joppa and bring back Simon who is called Peter.
Ɔkaa sɛnea ohuu ɔsoro ɔbɔfo wɔ ne fi ma ɔbɔfo no ka kyerɛɛ no se, ‘Soma kɔ Yopa kɔfrɛ ɔbarima bi a ne din de Simon Petro no.
14 He will speak to you a message by which you will be saved—you and all your household.”
Ɔno na ɔbɛka nsɛm a ebegye wo ne wo fifo nyinaa nkwa akyerɛ mo.’
15 As I began to speak to them, the Holy Spirit came on them, just as on us in the beginning.
“Bere a mifii ase kasae no, Honhom Kronkron baa wɔn so sɛnea yɛn nso mfiase no, ɛbaa yɛn so no ara pɛ.
16 I remembered the words of the Lord, how he said, “John indeed baptized with water; but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.”
Ɛhɔ ara mekaee asɛm a Awurade kae se, ‘Yohane de nsu na ɛbɔɔ asu na mo de, wɔde Honhom Kronkron na ɛbɛbɔ mo asu’ no.
17 Then if God gave to them the same gift as he gave to us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could oppose God?”
Sɛ Onyankopɔn ama wɔn akyɛde a bere a yegyee Awurade Yesu Kristo dii no ɔmaa yɛn bi no a, ɛno de me sɛɛ ne hena a mesiw Onyankopɔn kwan.”
18 When they heard these things, they said nothing in response, but they praised God and said, “Then God has given repentance for life to the Gentiles also.”
Wɔtee saa asɛm yi no, wogyaee wɔn nsɛmmisa no yii Awurade ayɛ se, “Afei de Onyankopɔn ama ho kwan ama amanamanmufo anya adwensakra a ɛde wɔn bɛkɔ nkwagye mu.”
19 Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that arose over Stephen spread as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word only to Jews.
Wokum Stefano no, wɔtaa agyidifo no ma wɔbɔɔ ahwete. Wɔn mu bi kyinkyin koduu Foinike, ne Kipro, ne Antiokia a na wɔreka asɛmpa no kyerɛ Yudafo nko ara.
20 But some of them, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, came to Antioch and spoke also to Greeks, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
Agyidifo bi a wofi Kipro ne Kirene kɔɔ Antiokia kɔkaa asɛmpa a ɛfa Awurade Yesu Kristo ho no kyerɛɛ amanamanmufo no.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them; a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
Esiane sɛ na Awurade ka wɔn ho no nti nnipa pii gyee asɛm no dii ma wɔdan baa Awurade nkyɛn.
22 News about them came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas as far as Antioch.
Saa asɛm yi trɛw koduu Yerusalem asafo no mu nti wɔsomaa Barnaba kɔɔ Antiokia.
23 When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad; and he encouraged them all to remain with the Lord with all their heart.
Oduu hɔ a ohuu sɛnea Onyankopɔn ahyira wɔn no, nʼani gye ma ɔhyɛɛ wɔn nkuran se womfi wɔn koma nyinaa mu nnye Awurade nni na wonni no nokware nso.
24 For he was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
Esiane sɛ na Barnaba yɛ onipa pa a Honhom Kronkron ahyɛ no ma na ɔwɔ gyidi nti, ɛmaa nnipa bebree nam ne so de wɔn ho maa Awurade.
25 Barnabas then went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
Barnaba kɔɔ Tarso kɔhwehwɛɛ Saulo.
26 When he found him, he brought him to Antioch. It came about, that for an entire year they gathered together with the church and taught many people. The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Ohuu no no, ɔde no baa Antiokia. Wɔn baanu tenaa hɔ afe kyerɛkyerɛɛ nnipa bebree. Antiokia ha na wɔtoo asuafo no din se “Kristofo.”
27 Now in these days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
Saa bere koro no ara mu na adiyifo bi fi Yerusalem kɔɔ Antiokia.
28 One of them, Agabus by name, stood up and indicated by the Spirit that a great famine would occur over all the world. This happened in the days of Claudius.
Wɔn mu baako a wɔfrɛ no Agabo a Honhom Kronkron ahyɛ no ma no sɔre gyina hyɛɛ nkɔm se ɔkɔm kɛse bɛba asase nyinaa so. Saa ɔkɔm yi sii bere a na Klaudio di ade no.
29 So, the disciples, as each one was able, decided to send help to the brothers in Judea.
Asuafo no yɛɛ adwene sɛ biribiara a obi wɔ no wɔde bɛba na wɔde akɔboa anuanom a wɔwɔ Yudea no.
30 They did this; they sent money to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
Wɔde akyɛde a wɔn nsa kae no somaa Barnaba ne Saulo ma wɔde kɔmaa asafo no mu mpanyimfo.
