2 Samuel 9
1 David said, “Is there anyone left in Saul's family to whom I may show kindness for Jonathan's sake?”
Et David dit: Est-ce qu'il y a encore quelque survivant de la maison de Saül? je veux lui témoigner de l'affection en considération de Jonathan.
2 There was in Saul's family a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David. The king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” He replied, “Yes. I am your servant.”
Or de la maison de Saül il restait un serviteur, nommé Tsiba; et il fut mandé chez David, et le Roi lui dit: Es-tu Tsiba? Et il répondit: Pour te servir!
3 So the king said, “Is there not anyone left of Saul's family to whom I may show the kindness of God?” Ziba replied to the king, “Jonathan still has a son, who is lame in his feet.”
Et le Roi dit: N'y a-t-il d'ailleurs plus personne de la maison de Saül, que je puisse rendre l'objet d'une bonté divine? Et Tsiba dit au Roi: Il y a encore un fils de Jonathan, impotent des deux pieds.
4 The king said to him, “Where is he?” Ziba replied to the king, “Look, he is in the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.”
Et le Roi lui dit: Où est-il? Et Tsiba dit au Roi: Voici, il est dans la maison de Machir, fils de Ammiel, à Lodebar.
5 Then King David sent and had him brought out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel from Lo Debar.
Alors le Roi David l'envoya chercher dans la maison de Machir, fils de Ammiel, de Lodebar.
6 So Mephibosheth son of Jonathan son of Saul, came to David and bowed down his face to the floor in honor of David. David said, “Mephibosheth.” He answered, “See, I am your servant!”
Et Mephiboseth, fils de Jonathan, fils de Saül, arrivé auprès de David, s'inclina face contre terre et se prosterna. Et David dit: Mephiboseth! Et celui-ci dit: Me voici pour te servir!
7 David said to him, “Do not be afraid, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather, and you will always eat at my table.”
Et David lui dit: N'aie aucune crainte! car je veux te témoigner de l'affection pour l'amour de Jonathan, ton père, et te restituer toutes les terres de Saül, ton aïeul, et tu mangeras le pain à ma table à la continue.
8 Mephibosheth bowed and said, “What is your servant, that you should look with favor on such a dead dog as I am?”
Et il s'inclina et dit: Qu'est ton serviteur pour que tu portes tes regards sur un chien mort tel que moi?
9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and his family I have given to your master's grandson.
Alors le Roi manda Tsiba, écuyer de Saül, et lui dit: Je donne au petit-fils de ton Maître tout ce qui appartenait à Saül et à toute sa maison.
10 You, your sons, and your servants must till the land for him and you must harvest the crops so that your master's grandson will have food to eat. For Mephibosheth, your master's grandson, must always eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Cultive-lui la terre, toi avec tes fils et tes serviteurs, et soigne les récoltes afin que ton maître ait du pain à manger. Et Mephiboseth, fils de ton Maître, mangera à ma table à la continue. Or Tsiba avait quinze fils et vingt serviteurs.
11 Then Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do all that my master the king commands his servant.” The king added, “As for Mephibosheth he will eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.”
Et Tsiba dit au Roi: Ton serviteur agira conformément à tous les ordres donnés par le Roi, mon Seigneur, à son serviteur. Et Mephiboseth mangera à ma table, comme l'un des fils du Roi.
12 Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Mika. All who lived in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth.
Or Mephiboseth avait un fils en bas âge, nommé Mica, et tout le domestique de la maison de Tsiba était au service de Mephiboseth.
13 So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, and he always ate at the king's table, though he was lame in both his feet.
Et Mephiboseth habitait Jérusalem, car il mangeait à la table du Roi à la continue. Or il était boiteux des deux pieds.
