2 Samuel 8
1 After this it came about that David attacked the Philistines and defeated them. So David took Metheg Ammah from the control of the Philistines.
੧ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਈ।
2 Then he defeated Moab and measured their men with a line by making them lie down on the ground. He measured off two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. So the Moabites became servants to David and began to pay him tribute.
੨ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੰਮੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਡੋਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਣਿਆ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦੋ ਡੋਰੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਮਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਡੋਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਮਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਦ ਮੋਆਬੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਨੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
3 David then defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, the king of Zobah, as Hadadezer was traveling to recover his rule by the Euphrates River.
੩ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਸੋਬਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਹੋਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਦਰਿਆ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
4 David captured from him 1,700 chariots and twenty thousand footmen. David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for a hundred chariots.
੪ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਸੱਤ ਸੌ ਸਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਹ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪਿਆਦੇ ਫੜ ਲਏ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਾੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੌ ਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਘੋੜੇ ਬਚਾ ਰੱਖੇ।
5 When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand Aramean men.
੫ਜਦੋਂ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਅਰਾਮੀ ਲੋਕ, ਸੋਬਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਈ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੇ।
6 Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became servants to him and brought him tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
੬ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਚੌਂਕੀਆਂ ਬੈਠਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਸੋ ਅਰਾਮੀ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਨੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਸੀ।
7 David took the golden shields that were on Hadadezer's servants and brought them to Jerusalem.
੭ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਖੋਹ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।
8 From Tebah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took very much bronze.
੮ਅਤੇ ਬਟਹ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਰੋਤਈ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਨ, ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।
9 When Tou, king of Hamath, heard that David had defeated all the army of Hadadezer,
੯ਜਦ ਹਮਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੋਈ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
10 Tou sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because David had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him, and because Hadadezer had waged war against Tou. Hadoram brought with himself objects of silver, gold, and bronze.
੧੦ਤਦ ਤੋਈ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਦੇਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਤੋਈ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸੋ ਯੋਰਾਮ ਚਾਂਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।
11 King David set aside these objects to Yahweh, together with the silver and gold from all the nations that he conquered—
੧੧ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਉਸਨੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਸਮੇਤ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਛੱਡਿਆ।
12 from Aram, Moab, the people of Ammon, the Philistines, and Amalek, along with all of the plundered goods of Hadadezer son of Rehob, the king of Zobah.
੧੨ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ, ਮੋਆਬੀਆਂ, ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ, ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ, ਅਮਾਲੇਕੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਸੋਬਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਹੋਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਦਦਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ,
13 David's name was well known when he returned from conquering the Arameans in the Valley of Salt, with their eighteen thousand men.
੧੩ਜਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਲੂਣ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਤਦ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
14 He placed garrisons throughout all of Edom, and all the Edomites became servants to him. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
੧੪ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੌਂਕੀਆਂ ਬਿਠਾਈਆਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੌਂਕੀਆਂ ਬਿਠਾਈਆਂ। ਸਾਰੇ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਜਿੱਥੇ-ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਗਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਸੀ।
15 David reigned over all Israel, and he administered justice and righteousness to all his people.
੧੫ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
16 Joab son of Zeruiah was the commander of the army, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was recorder.
੧੬ਸਰੂਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਆਬ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਹੀਲੂਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਤ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਸੀ।
17 Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests, and Seraiah was scribe.
੧੭ਅਹੀਟੂਬ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਾਦੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸਰਾਯਾਹ ਮੁਨਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ,
18 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in charge of the Kerethites and Pelethites, and David's sons were the chief officials at the king's hand.
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਯਾਦਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਨਾਯਾਹ ਕਰੇਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਲੇਤੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਸਨ।
