2 Samuel 3
1 Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. David grew stronger and stronger, but the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.
௧சவுலின் குடும்பத்திற்கும் தாவீதின் குடும்பத்திற்கும் பல நாட்கள் யுத்தம் நடந்தது; தாவீது மென்மேலும் வலிமை பெற்றுக்கொண்டே வந்தான்; சவுலின் குடும்பத்தார்களோ வரவர பலவீனப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.
2 Sons were born to David in Hebron. His firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam from Jezreel.
௨எப்ரோனிலே தாவீதுக்குப் பிறந்த மகன்கள்: யெஸ்ரயேல் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த அகினோவாமிடம் பிறந்த அம்னோன் அவனுக்கு முதல் பிறந்தவன்.
3 His second son, Kileab, was born to Abigail, the widow of Nabal from Carmel. The third, Absalom, was son of Maacah, daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur.
௩நாபாலின் மனைவியாக இருந்த கர்மேல் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த அபிகாயிலிடம் பிறந்த கீலேயாப் அவனுடைய இரண்டாம் மகன்; மூன்றாம் மகன் கெசூரின் ராஜாவான தல்மாய் மகளான மாக்காள் பெற்ற அப்சலோம் என்பவன்.
4 David's fourth son, Adonijah, was the son of Haggith. His fifth son was Shephatiah son of Abital,
௪நான்காம் மகன் ஆகீத் பெற்ற அதோனியா என்பவன்; ஐந்தாம் மகன் அபித்தாள் பெற்ற செப்பத்தியா என்பவன்.
5 and the sixth, Ithream, was the son of David's wife Eglah. These sons were born to David in Hebron.
௫ஆறாம் மகன் தாவீதின் மனைவியான எக்லாளிடம் பிறந்த இத்ரேயாம் என்பவன்; இவர்கள் எப்ரோனிலே தாவீதுக்குப் பிறந்தவர்கள்.
6 It came about during the war between the house of Saul and the house of David that Abner made himself strong in the house of Saul.
௬சவுலின் குடும்பத்திற்கும் தாவீதின் குடும்பத்திற்கும் யுத்தம் நடந்து வருகிறபோது, அப்னேர் சவுலின் குடும்பத்திலே வலிமை அடைந்தவனான்.
7 Saul had a concubine whose name was Rizpah, the daughter of Aiah. Ishbosheth said to Abner, “Why have you slept with my father's concubine?”
௭சவுலுக்கு ஆயாவின் மகளான ரிஸ்பாள் என்னும் பெயருள்ள ஒரு மறுமனையாட்டி இருந்தாள்; இஸ்போசேத் அப்னேரை நோக்கி: நீ என் தகப்பனாருடைய மறுமனையாட்டியோடு உறவுகொண்டது என்ன என்றான்.
8 Then Abner was very angry at the words of Ishbosheth and said, “Am I a dog's head that belongs to Judah? Today I am showing faithfulness to the house of Saul, your father, to his brothers, and to his friends, by not delivering you into the hand of David. But now you accuse me of an offense concerning this woman?
௮அப்னேர் இஸ்போசேத்தின் வார்த்தைகளுக்காக மிகவும் கோபங்கொண்டு: உம்மை தாவீதின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்காமல், இந்த நாள்வரை உம்முடைய தகப்பனான சவுலின் குடும்பத்திற்கும், அவருடைய சகோதரர்களுக்கும், நண்பர்களுக்கும், தயவு செய்கிறவனான என்னை நீர் இன்று ஒரு பெண்ணிற்காக குற்றம் கண்டுபிடிப்பதற்கு, நான் யூதாவைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு நாயின் தலையா?
9 May God do so to me, Abner, and more also, if I do not do for David as Yahweh has sworn to him,
௯நான் அரசாட்சியை சவுலின் குடும்பத்தைவிட்டு மாற்றி, தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தைத் தாண் துவங்கிப் பெயெர்செபாவரையுள்ள இஸ்ரவேலின்மேலும் யூதாவின்மேலும் நிலைநிறுத்தும்படி,
10 to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul and set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan to Beersheba.”
௧0யெகோவா தாவீதுக்கு ஆணையிட்டபடியே, நான் அவனுக்குச் செய்யாமற்போனால், தேவன் அப்னேருக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்யட்டும் என்றான்.
11 Ishbosheth could not answer Abner another word, because he feared him.
௧௧அப்பொழுது அவன் அப்னேருக்குப் பயப்பட்டதால், அதன்பின்பு ஒரு பதிலும் அவனுக்குச் சொல்லாமலிருந்தான்.
12 Then Abner sent messengers to David to speak for him saying, “Whose land is this? Make a covenant with me, and you will see that my hand is with you, to bring all Israel to you.”
௧௨அப்னேர் தன்னுடைய பெயராலே தாவீதிடம் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பி: தேசம் யாருடையது? என்னோடு உடன்படிக்கை செய்யும்; இதோ, இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் உம்மிடத்தில் திருப்ப, என்னுடைய கை உம்மோடிருக்கும் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.
13 David answered, “Good, I will make a covenant with you. But one thing I require from you is that you cannot see my face unless you first bring Michal, Saul's daughter, when you come to see me.”
௧௩அதற்குத் தாவீது: நல்லது, உன்னோடு நான் உடன்படிக்கை செய்வேன்; ஆனாலும், ஒரு காரியம் உன்னிடம் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்; அது என்னவென்றால், நீ என்னுடைய முகத்தைப் பார்க்க வரும்போது, சவுலின் மகளான மீகாளை அழைத்து வரவேண்டும்; அதற்குமுன் நீ என்னுடைய முகத்தைப் பார்ப்பதில்லை என்று சொல்லச்சொல்லி,
14 Then David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul's son, saying, “Give me my wife Michal, for whom I paid a price of one hundred Philistine foreskins.”
௧௪அவன் சவுலின் மகனான இஸ்போசேத்திடமும் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பி: நான் பெலிஸ்தர்களுடைய 100 நுனித்தோல்களைப் பரிசமாகக் கொடுத்து, விவாகம்செய்த என்னுடைய மனைவியான மீகாளை அனுப்பிவிடும் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான்.
15 So Ishbosheth sent for Michal and took her from her husband, Paltiel son of Laish.
௧௫அப்பொழுது, இஸ்போசேத் அவளை லாயிசின் மகனான பல்த்தியேல் என்னும் அவளுடைய கணவனிடமிருந்து அழைத்துவர ஆட்களை அனுப்பினான்.
16 Her husband went with her, weeping as he went, and followed her to Bahurim. Then Abner said to him, “Return home now.” So he returned.
௧௬அவள் கணவன் பகூரிம்வரை அவளுக்கு பின்னே அழுதுகொண்டு வந்தான். அப்னேர் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ திரும்பிப்போ என்றான்; அவன் திரும்பிப் போய்விட்டான்.
17 Abner spoke with the elders of Israel saying, “In the past you were trying to have David be king over you.
௧௭அப்னேர் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர்களோடு பேசி: தாவீதை உங்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாக வைக்கும்படி நீங்கள் அநேகநாட்களாகத் தேடினீர்களே.
18 Now do it. For Yahweh has spoken of David saying, 'By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel from the hand of the Philistines and from the hand of all their enemies.'”
௧௮இப்போதும் அப்படிச் செய்யுங்கள்; என்னுடைய தாசனான தாவீதின் கைகளினால், என்னுடைய மக்களான இஸ்ரவேலைப் பெலிஸ்தர்களின் கைக்கும், அவர்களுடைய எல்லா எதிரிகளின் கைகளுக்கும் மீட்டு இரட்சிப்பேன் என்று யெகோவா தாவீதைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே என்றான்.
19 Abner also spoke personally to the people of Benjamin. Then Abner went also to speak with David in Hebron to explain everything that Israel and the whole house of Benjamin desired to accomplish.
௧௯இப்படியே அப்னேர் பென்யமீன் மக்களின் காதுகள் கேட்கப் பேசினான்; பின்பு அப்னேர் இஸ்ரவேலர்களின் பார்வைக்கும், பென்யமீனுடைய எல்லாக் குடும்பத்தார்களின் பார்வைக்கும், விரும்பினதையெல்லாம் எப்ரோனிலே தாவீதினுடைய காதுகள் கேட்கப் பேசுகிறதற்குப் போனான்.
20 When Abner and twenty of his men arrived in Hebron to see David, David had a feast prepared for them.
௨0அப்னேரும், அவனோடு 20 பேரும் எப்ரோனிலிருக்கிற தாவீதிடம் வந்தபோது, தாவீது அப்னேருக்கும், அவனோடு வந்த மனிதர்களுக்கும் விருந்துசெய்தான்.
21 Abner explained to David, “I will arise and gather all Israel to you, my master the king, so that they may make a covenant with you, so that you may reign over all that you desire.” So David sent Abner away, and Abner left in peace.
௨௧பின்பு அப்னேர் தாவீதை நோக்கி: நான் எழுந்துபோய், இஸ்ரவேலர்களை எல்லாம் உம்மோடு உடன்படிக்கைசெய்யும்படி, ராஜாவான என்னுடைய ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டுவருகிறேன்; அதினாலே உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா அரசாள விரும்புகிற இடமெல்லாம் அரசாளுவீர் என்றான்; அப்படியே தாவீது அப்னேரை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்; அவன் சமாதானத்தோடு போனான்.
22 Then the soldiers of David and Joab came from a raid and brought much plunder with them. But Abner was not with David in Hebron. David had sent him away, and Abner had left in peace.
௨௨தாவீதின் வீரர்களும் யோவாபும் அநேக பொருட்களைக் கொள்ளையிட்டு, படையிலிருந்து கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அப்னேர் எப்ரோனில் தாவீதிடம் இல்லை; அவனை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்; அவன் சமாதானத்தோடு போய்விட்டான்.
23 When Joab and all the army with him arrived, they told Joab, “Abner son of Ner came to the king, and the king has sent him away, and Abner left in peace.”
௨௩யோவாபும் அவனோடு இருந்த எல்லா இராணுவமும் வந்தபோது, நேரின் மகனான அப்னேர் ராஜாவிடம் வந்தான் என்றும், அவர் அவனைச் சமாதானமாகப் போகவிட்டார் என்றும், யோவாபுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.
24 Then Joab came to the king and said, “What have you done? Look, Abner came to you! Why have you sent him away, and he is gone?
௨௪அப்பொழுது யோவாப் ராஜாவின் அருகில் வந்து: என்ன செய்தீர்? இதோ, அப்னேர் உம்மிடத்தில் வந்தானே, நீர் அவனைப் போகவிட்டது என்ன?
25 Do you not know that Abner son of Ner came to deceive you and to discover your plans and learn everything you are doing?”
௨௫நேரின் மகனான அப்னேரை அறிவீரே; அவன் உம்மை மோசம் போக்கவும், உம்முடைய போக்குவரத்தை அறியவும், நீர் செய்கிறதையெல்லாம் ஆராயவும் வந்தான் என்று சொன்னான்.
26 When Joab left David, he sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the well of Sirah, but David did not know this.
௨௬யோவாப் தாவீதைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டவுடனே, அவன் அப்னேரைத் தாவீதுக்குத் தெரியாமல் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வரும்படி ஆட்களை அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் சீரா என்னும் கிணறுவரை போய் அவனை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
27 When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the middle of the gate to speak with him quietly. There Joab stabbed him in the stomach and killed him. In this way, Joab avenged the blood of Asahel his brother.
௨௭அப்னேர் எப்ரோனுக்குத் திரும்பி வருகிறபோது, யோவாப் அவனோடு இரகசியமாகப் பேசப்போகிறவன்போல, அவனை வாசலின் நடுவே ஒரு பக்கமாக அழைத்துப்போய், தன்னுடைய தம்பி ஆசகேலுடைய இரத்தப்பழியை வாங்க, அங்கே அவனை வயிற்றிலே குத்திக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.
28 When David heard about this he said, “I and my kingdom are innocent before Yahweh forever regarding the blood of Abner son of Ner.
௨௮தாவீது அதைக் கேட்டபோது: நேரின் மகனான அப்னேரின் இரத்தத்திற்காக, என்மேலும் என்னுடைய ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் மேலும் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக என்றைக்கும் பழியில்லை.
29 Let the guilt of Abner's death fall on the head of Joab and on all his father's house. May there never fail to be in the family of Joab someone who has a flowing sore or skin disease or who is lame and must walk with a staff or who is killed by the sword or who goes without food.”
௨௯அது யோவாபுடைய தலையின்மேலும், அவனுடைய தகப்பனுடைய குடும்பத்தின்மேலும் சுமந்திருப்பதாக; யோவாபினுடைய வீட்டார்களிலே புண் உள்ளவனும், குஷ்டரோகியும், கோல் ஊன்றி நடக்கிறவனும், பட்டயத்தால் சாகிறவனும், அப்பம் இல்லாதவனும், ஒருபோதும் ஒழிந்துபோவதில்லை என்றான்.
30 So Joab and Abishai his brother killed Abner, because he had killed their brother Asahel at Gibeon in battle.
௩0அப்னேர் கிபியோனிலே நடந்த யுத்தத்திலே தங்களுடைய தம்பியான ஆசகேலைக் கொன்றதினால் யோவாபும் அவனுடைய சகோதரனான அபிசாயும் அவனைப் படுகொலைசெய்தார்கள்.
31 David said to Joab and to all the people who were with him, “Tear your clothes, put on sackcloth, and mourn before Abner's body.” Now King David walked behind the body in the funeral procession.
௩௧தாவீது யோவாபையும், அவனோடு இருந்த எல்லா மக்களையும் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் உங்கள் ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, சாக்கு உடை அணிந்து, அப்னேருக்கு முன்னாக நடந்து துக்கங்கொண்டாடுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி, தாவீது ராஜாவும் பாடைக்குப் பின்னே சென்றான்.
32 They buried Abner in Hebron. The king wept and cried loudly at the tomb of Abner, and all the people also wept.
௩௨அவர்கள் அப்னேரை எப்ரோனிலே அடக்கம்செய்யும்போது, ராஜா அப்னேரின் கல்லறையின் அருகில் சத்தமிட்டு அழுதான்; எல்லா மக்களும் அழுதார்கள்.
33 The king lamented for Abner and sang, “Should Abner die as a fool dies?
௩௩ராஜா அப்னேருக்காகப் புலம்பி: “மதிகெட்டவன் சாகிறதுபோல, அப்னேர் செத்துப்போனானோ?
34 Your hands were not bound. Your feet were not shackled. As a man falls before the sons of injustice, so you have fallen.” Once more all the people wept over him.
௩௪உன்னுடைய கைகள் கட்டப்படவும் இல்லை; உன்னுடைய கால்களில் விலங்கு போடப்படவும் இல்லை; அக்கிரமக்காரர்களுடைய கையில் இறக்கிறதுபோல இறந்தாயே” என்றான்; அப்பொழுது மக்கள் எல்லோரும் பின்னும் அதிகமாக அவனுக்காக அழுதார்கள்.
35 All the people came to make David eat while it was still day, but David swore, “May God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun goes down.”
௩௫பகலாக இருக்கும்போது, மக்கள் எல்லோரும் வந்து: “அப்பம் சாப்பிடும் என்று தாவீதுக்குச் சொன்னபோது, தாவீது: சூரியன் மறைவதற்கு முன்பு நான் அப்பமாவது வேறு எதையாவது ருசி பார்த்தால், தேவன் எனக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்யக்கடவர்” என்று ஆணையிட்டுச் சொன்னான்.
36 All the people took notice of David's grief, and it pleased them, as whatever the king did pleased them.
௩௬மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அதைக் கவனித்தார்கள், அது அவர்கள் பார்வைக்கு நன்றாயிருந்தது; அப்படியே ராஜா செய்தது அனைத்தும் எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் நலமாகத் தோன்றினது.
37 So all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not the king's desire to kill Abner son of Ner.
௩௭நேரின் மகனான அப்னேரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டது ராஜாவால் உண்டாகவில்லை என்று அந்த நாளிலே எல்லா மக்களும், இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அனைவரும் அறிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.
38 The king said to his servants, “Do you not know that a prince and a great man has fallen this day in Israel?
௩௮ராஜா தன்னுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களை நோக்கி: இன்றையதினம் இஸ்ரவேலில் பிரபுவும் பெரிய மனிதனுமான ஒருவன் விழுந்தான் என்று அறியீர்களா?
39 Now I am weak today, though I am an anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too brutal for me. May Yahweh repay the evildoer by punishing him for his wickedness, as he deserves.”
௩௯நான் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்செய்யப்பட்டவனாக இருந்தபோதும், நான் இன்னும் பெலவீனன்; செருயாவின் மகன்களான இந்த மனிதர்கள் என்னுடைய பெலத்திற்கு மிஞ்சினவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள், அந்தத் தீங்கைச் செய்தவனுக்குக் யெகோவா அவனுடைய தீங்கிற்கு ஏற்றபடிச் சரிக்கட்டுவாராக என்றான்.
